According to UN's latest Human Development Report, the world is becoming a better place to live. Though the fact remains that about 800 million people in the world go to bed hungry daily, more than 1 billion people have risen out of extreme poverty in the past 25 years.
The report ranks countries that are best to live in. The UN reviewed nearly 200 countries under various factors, including life expectancy, education, gender equality, and financial wealth.

Here are the 11 Best happiest and safe countries to LIVE or Work in The World 2019:
#11. United States: The United States ranks high in financial wealth. Americans earn an average of $53,245 per year.
#10. Canada: Canada ranks high in education achievement. More than half of its residents graduate from college.
#9. Iceland: People in Iceland have a high life expectancy, living an average of 82.7 years.
#8. Ireland: Crime is low in Ireland. The homicide rate stands at only 1.1 per 1,000 people, according to the most recent data available.
#7. The Netherlands: This country has one of the lowest rates of income inequality in the world (12.4%), and it's been continually decreasing since the mid-1990s.
#6. Singapore: People in this nation can expect to live long lives, too. The average life expectancy is over 83 years in Singapore.
#5. Denmark: Denmark tied with Singapore in the UN's ranking. When comparing median wages between men and women, the gender wage gap is now at 7.8% for full-time employees in Denmark. For comparison, the gap hovers at 17.9% in the US.
#4. Germany: As of October 2014, all universities are free for residents and international students in Germany, where over 96% of the population has at least some secondary education.
#3. Switzerland: Switzerland ranks high in overall health. On average, people live to age 83 and have a relatively low risk for diseases like malaria, HIV, and tuberculosis.
#2. Australia: Education makes up over 5% of the national GDP in this country, which tied with Switzerland. The UN found that most students go to school for around 20 years in Australia.
#1. Norway: Norway ranked highest in standard of living, life expectancy, and education, 13 times in a row. Thanks to the country's robust, publicly funded healthcare system, the average life expectancy is 82 years.

Singapore is no longer the preferred destination for expats. According to the annual survey HBSC Expat, the Asian city was dethroned by Switzerland in 2019. The country is particularly popular for its quality of life and its political and economic stability, but it also ranks first in terms of income, with wages well above the world average. Singapore retains its valuable assets, starting with its school system considered excellent.
France is only in 17th place. Its cultural heritage particularly appeals to expatriates, few of whom settle in France in order to earn a better living. For those under 35, overall career opportunities play a decisive role in going to work abroad. Moving abroad would allow these young workers to increase their wages by 35% on average compared to their country of origin.
The HSBC bank ranking is based on the survey carried out among 18,059 expatriates around the world, in March and April 2019, by the YouGov polling institute. Only countries with at least 100 respondents are included in the final study, making a total of 33 states. Here are, according to the British financial institution, the 20 best destinations for expatriation, taking into consideration standard of living, career opportunities and family life:

Singapore is contending with Denmark (also on this list) for a ranking among the best countries in the world, according to many works and publications. The UN recognises and highly commends Singapore for the country’s attention to healthcare delivery. The country has a lot of viable health programmes such that the residents are among the healthiest in the world. And this translates to a higher life expectancy than most countries on the same scale.
Germany
Germany is proud to be a literate country and that beats many countries of the world in education. This is not unconnected with the great attention the country gives to the education system. As at the last check, only 4% of Germans are illiterate. The majority of them receive higher education while many of them even have post-graduate qualifications. Their educational structure breeds a more civilised and organised society.
Ireland
Ireland makes this list due to safety considerations. If you follow the world and local news, you realise that Ireland is not common in the news for bad reasons. The country is not associated with criminal activities, either targeting individuals or the established order. Homicides, suicide bombings, armed robbery, fraud, cybercrime, drug-related crimes, and other organised pestering crimes are at an unprecedentedly low rate in this country. And the trend is not about to change.
