China's Three Gorges Dam Will Collapse in 3 Days...or will it?
The three gorges dam is the world's largest hydroelectric dam with 34 turbines and an installed capacity of 22 and a half thousand megawatts.
Producing clean renewable energy. It stands at 180 meters in height and 2.3 kilometers in length. Construction began in 1994 the dam body was completed in 2006 and this marvel of engineering...this colossal construction has been standing strong ever since. Although it had a construction cost of a whopping $32 billion US dollars, that cost has already been recovered in 2013. The Dam now brings in an income of around 7 billion US dollars per year. This feat of engineering has become an international tourist attraction. The structure took 17 million cubic metrers of concrete to complete, enough to construct five hoover dams! How about that then America? Why don't you put that in your headlines?
The Dam holds back approximately 39 cubic kilometers of water. American Scientists calculated that the mass contained in the Dams reservoir actually slowed the earth's rotation by 0.06 microseconds.
Yes thats right China's actually giving you more time in the day. By providing flood storage space, the dam reduces the potential for floods downstream which have historically plagued the Yangtze Plain. The dam has drastically reduced flooding in the region and literally saved millions of people's lives. So why does western media keep saying it will collapse? Almost every year they'll be stories claiming the dam is about to collapse.
But guess what? It's absolute nonsense!

The Largest Dam in the World (Three Gorges) Experiencing Fourth Flood this year. Will it survive?

As pouring rain continues to soak central and southern China experts warn that the Three Gorges Dam, one of the world's largest #dams, is at risk of collapse.

The Three Gorges Dam is built above the #Yangtze River and situated in China’s Hubei province.

The dam will be experiencing its fourth flood this year. Water levels in the reservoir are already staggeringly high. Will the dam be able to survive another week of heavy rain? We take a close look at the expected rainfall coming this week.

Chinese authorities insist that the dam is structurally sound, but a famed hydrologist, Wang Weiluo, said the dam is of poor quality, and can't provide flood protection.

THREE GORGES DAM CHINA, COLLAPS?? ? About History?

THE DAM, Now in danger? Collaps due to heavy Rain??
The Three Gorges Dam is a hydroelectric gravity dam that spans the Yangtze River by the town of Sandouping, in Yiling District, Yichang, Hubei province, China. The Three Gorges Dam has been the world's largest power station in terms of installed capacity (22,500 MW) since 2012.In 2018, the dam generated 101.6 terawatt-hours (TWh), breaking its previous record, but was still slightly lower than the Itaipú Dam, which had set the world record in 2016 after producing 103.1 TWh.

The dam body was completed in 2006. The power plant of the dam project was completed and fully functional as of July 4, 2012,when the last of the main water turbines in the underground plant began production. Each main water turbine has a capacity of 700 MW.Coupling the dam's 32 main turbines with two smaller generators (50 MW each) to power the plant itself, the total electric generating capacity of the dam is 22,500 MW.The last major component of the project, the ship lift, was complete in December 2015.

As well as producing electricity, the dam is intended to increase the Yangtze River's shipping capacity. By providing flood storage space, the dam reduces the potential for floods downstream which could possibly affect millions. China regards the project as a monumental social and economical success, with the design of state-of-the-art large turbines, and a move toward limiting greenhouse gas emissions. However, the dam flooded archaeological and cultural sites, displaced some 1.3 million people, and had caused significant ecological changes including an increased risk of landslides. The dam has been controversial both domestically and abroad.(wiki)

The impact of these dams on the community is multifaceted. While they provide benefits such as clean energy, flood control, irrigation, and economic development, they can also have adverse effects. Displacement of communities, environmental changes, and the loss of cultural heritage are some of the challenges associated with large dams. It's essential to strike a balance between harnessing the benefits and mitigating the potential negative impacts, ensuring sustainable development and equitable distribution of resources.

The Most Powerful Dam in the World--Three Gorges Dam

The Three Gorges Dam is a monumental hydroelectric dam located in China. It is one of the largest and most ambitious engineering projects in the world. The dam is situated on the Yangtze River and serves multiple purposes.

Construction of the Three Gorges Dam began in 1994 and was completed in 2006. It has a length of 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) and a total generating capacity of 22,500 megawatts, making it the largest hydroelectric power station globally.

The primary objectives of the dam are to generate clean energy, reduce flooding, and improve navigation along the Yangtze River. It achieves these goals by harnessing the power of the river's flow to generate electricity, regulating water levels to mitigate flood risks, and creating a system of locks to facilitate shipping and navigation.

While the dam has faced criticism due to its environmental impact and displacement of local communities, it remains a significant achievement in infrastructure development and renewable energy production.

The Three Gorges Dam stands as a testament to China's engineering capabilities and its commitment to harnessing natural resources for sustainable development.
