The travel health insurance I use - PassportCard Nomads:

*I highly recommend this travel health insurance because you don't have to pay out of pocket for your medical expenses and they have very reasonably priced long term plans. You can buy the packages for shorter trips as well, but they're especially fantastic for digital nomads and nomads who want regular health insurance when they are abroad. I am an affiliate of this company, but of course use the plans myself.

A #tour of Montreal will take you across cobblestone streets, through architecture that dates back to the 1600s, and to its wonderful its numerous green spaces. The city’s inhabitants take great pride in Montreal’s natural beauty, and hikes up Mont Royal or along the St. Lawrence River are frequent activities for locals. The riverfront and the mountain are full of striking photo opportunities.

WE CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS CANADA | Montreal and Quebec City

We are BLOWN AWAY by Quebec. The people in Montreal and Quebec City were so lovely and it truly felt like Europe. You NEED to make a trip if you haven't been!

Hope you enjoy!

Montreal, Canada | Largest city of Canada ? | Tour guide 2023

Montreal, is the second-most populous city in Canada and most populous city in the Canadian province of Quebec. Founded in 1642 as Ville-Marie, or City of Mary, it is named after Mount Royal, the triple-peaked hill around which the early city of Ville-Marie is built. The city is centred on the Island of Montreal, which obtained its name from the same origin as the city, and a few much smaller peripheral islands, the largest of which is Île Bizard. The city is 196 km (122 mi) east of the national capital Ottawa, and 258 km (160 mi) southwest of the provincial capital, Quebec City.

Montreal has hosted multiple international conferences and events, including the 1967 International and Universal Exposition and the 1976 Summer Olympics. It is the only Canadian city to have held the Summer Olympics. In 2018, Montreal was ranked as a global city. The city hosts the Canadian Grand Prix of Formula One; the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the largest jazz festival in the world;[38] the Just for Laughs festival, the largest comedy festival in the world; and Les Francos de Montréal, the largest French-language music festival in the world. It is also home to the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League, who have won the Stanley Cup more times than any other team.

People of European ethnicities formed the largest cluster of ethnic groups. The largest reported European ethnicities in the 2006 census were French 23%, Italians 10%, Irish 5%, English 4%, Scottish 3%, and Spanish 2%.

The panethnic breakdown of the city of Montreal as per the 2021 census was European (1,038,940 persons or 60.3%), African (198,610 persons or 11.5%), Middle Eastern (159,435 persons or 9.3%), South Asian (79,670 persons or 4.6%), Latin American (78,150 persons or 4.5%), Southeast Asian[c] (65,260 persons or 3.8%), East Asian (64,825 persons or 3.8%), Indigenous (15,315 persons or 0.9%), and Other/Multiracial (23,010 persons or 1.3%).

In terms of mother language (first language learned), the 2006 census reported that in the Greater Montreal Area, 66.5% spoke French as a first language, followed by English at 13.2%, while 0.8% spoke both as a first language.[ The remaining 22.5% of Montreal-area residents are allophones, speaking languages including Italian (3.5%), Arabic (3.1%), Spanish (2.6%), Creole (1.3%), Chinese (1.2%), Greek (1.2%), Portuguese (0.8%), Berber language (0.8%), Romanian (0.7%), Vietnamese (0.7%), and Russian (0.7%). In terms of additional languages spoken, a unique feature of Montreal among Canadian cities, noted by Statistics Canada, is the working knowledge of both French and English possessed by most of its residents.

???????? Montreal, Canada Walking Tour - Old Montreal [4K Ultra HDR/60fps]

Two hour walking tour of Downtown Montreal. Montreal is the second-most populous city in Canada, and most populous city in the Canadian province of Quebec. Montreal is one of the most bilingual cities in Canada, with over 59% of the population able to speak both English and French.

Our walk starts in front of Notre Dame Basilica in the historic district of Old Montreal, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The church is next to the Saint-Sulpice Seminary and faces the monument in memory of Paul de Chomedey, founder of Montreal in Place d'Armes square.

Leaving the square, we make our way down the cobblestone roads towards Montréals famous Crew Collective Cafe. This café is undeniably among the most beautiful spots in all of Montreal. Located in the venerable and grand former headquarters of the Royal Bank of Canada – once the tallest building in the British Empire – in the heart of Old Montreal, the high ceilings, marble floors and brass cashier counters will surely blow you away.

Leaving the soaring ceilings of Crew Cafe, we head towards Rue Saint-Paul Street, the oldest street in Montreal, and one of the most picturesque in the city. Paved in 1672, the cobblestone artery is home to many historic greystone buildings, which are emblematic of Montreal. While walking down Saint-Paul Street, you’ll encounter all manner of shops, galleries and restaurants. It is also a pleasure just to stroll down the narrow street, which runs parallel to the Old Port waterfront. Eventually, you’ll hit Place Jacques-Cartier, a square named after the eponymous explorer who claimed Canada for France in 1535.

The Sailors Church officially named Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel (Our Lady of Good Help) is one of the oldest churches in Montreal, it was built in 1771 over the ruins of an earlier chapel. The church is located at 400 Saint Paul Street East at Bonsecours Street, just north of the Bonsecours Market in the borough of Ville-Marie (Champ-de-Mars metro station).

The Old Port of Montreal (French: Vieux-Port de Montréal) is the historic port of Quebec that dates well before the formation of Canada. Located adjacent to Old Montreal, it stretches for over 2 km (1.2 mi) along the Saint Lawrence River. It was used as early as 1611, when French fur traders used it as a trading post.

Quartier des Spectacles is an arts and entertainment district located in the eastern section of Downtown Montreal, designed as a centre for Montreal's cultural events and festivals. The Quartier des spectacles is a member of the Global Cultural Districts Network. With a total area of almost one square kilometre, the Quartier is bounded by City Councillors Street to the West, Berri Street to the East, Sherbrooke Street to the North and René Lévesque Boulevard to the South, encompassing all of the district known as Montreal's Latin Quarter.
