Important Things You MUST Know Before Visiting Paris (ft. Not Even French) | Paris Travel Guide

Planning to visit Paris soon? If so, Rosie from the channel Not Even French, who has lived in Paris for many years now, is the guest in the video, telling you the most important things to know for your first trip to London. You'll learn which French words you MUST know, why you should skip the Eiffel Tower (but what viewpoints you should go to instead), and more smart Paris tips for your visit.

Over on the Not Even French channel, Rosie and I talk about the differences between living in London vs. Paris. Watch it here:

As mentioned in the video (some are affiliate links):
Don’t climb the Eiffel tower, get a great view of it instead:
Chic/expensive restaurant with amazing view on the Eiffel Tower:
Cool rooftop bar/casual restaurant with amazing 360 views of Paris: - 14 Rue Crespin du Gast 75011 Paris
And many more suggestions:

**This video was filmed before the Notre Dame caught fire, which is why I mentioned it in the video. So sad to have temporarily lost this amazing monument. While we wait for it to be restored, I highly suggest visiting Saint Chapelle instead.

Top 10 Things To Do in Paris in 2020 (For First-Timers)

Top 10 Best Things To Do in Paris that you must-see when you go to the city of lights!

Also, see our blog post for the Top 21 Best Things To Do in Paris:

Also, check out our Google Map that shows everything listed in this post and more:

In this video, we're sharing with you our expert tips on travelling in Paris. During our recent trip to the City of Lights, we took advice from our local Parisian viewers and blog readers and many travellers who helped us pick the best things to do in Paris for first-timers.

This video includes the best free, cheap, romantic and fun things to do in Paris as a couple or as a family.

1. Free Walking Tour (00:30)
This free walking tour takes you through the main sights in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Arrondissements such as Place Saint Michel, the Notre Dame de Paris, the famous River Seine, Pont Neuf, the outside of the Louvre, the Palace of Justice, Sainte Chapelle, the Musée d’Orsay and Place de la Concorde.
Sandemans Tour:

2. Visit the Louvre Museum (1:03)
The largest single-building museum in the world and without a doubt, one of the most stunning displays of art and history in the world, and sees over 10 million visitors per year.
GetYourGuide Skip The Line Tour:

3. Get a Selfie By The Eiffel Tower (2:02)
Originally built by engineer Gustave Eiffel as the entrance to the World’s Fair in 1889, the 324 meter (1,063 ft) tall rod iron tower was once the tallest structure in the world.

4. Visit Montmartre & The Sacre Couer Basilica (2:41)
There are plenty of tourists around the Sacre Coeur, but as you get farther away from the basilica there are enough quiet alleyways and narrow streets to get lost in.

5. Walk Along The River Seine (3:29)
The Seine River is a 777-kilometre long waterway and important commercial transportation route that runs through the center of Paris. Many of the city’s top sites lie on the banks of the Seine so one of the best things to do in Paris is to take the metro to any stop along the banks of the river, get off and simply walk for hours along the broad boardwalks that are built on either side of it.

Less Visited Things To Do in Paris:

6. Walk To The Pantheon (3:53)
Located in the Latin Quarter, the 18th-century structure was first built as a church dedicated to the patron saint of Paris, Saint Genevieve.

7. Shop At The Bastille Market (4:27)
This open-air market is one of the largest and liveliest Parisian street markets and stretches for 10 city blocks from The Place de la Bastille to Rue Chemin Vert.

8. Visit The Catacombs (4:54)
There are over 350 kilometers of old limestone quarries built in a labyrinth 30 meters below the city, but visitors have access to around 2 kilometres of the eerie tunnels.

9. Picnic In The Luxembourg Gardens (5:31)
This is one of the most beautiful open gardens in Paris (in our opinion). Pick up a snack from one of the nearby pâtisserie or boulangerie, get a bottle of wine and enjoy the late afternoon sunlight while people-watching in this beautiful park.

10. Get Lost! (6:04)
There are 20 Arrondissements in Paris. Start from the center of the city and simply walk outwards and you'll stumble into new neighbourhoods, each with their own character and flare.

If you're like me, you've always wanted to go to Paris but didn't know where to start. In this video, I'm going to give you the top 5 things that you need to know before your trip so that your experience is as smooth as possible.

Hey there! My name is Ruth Mary and in this video, I'm going to talk about the 5 essential things that you need to know before traveling to Paris. Now, I've been there a few times and these are just some general tips that will help make your time there more enjoyable.

Number one The best time to go is in the spring or fall when it's not too hot or cold

Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and there's no better time to visit than in the spring or fall. The weather is perfect at this time of year, not too hot or cold, and the city comes alive with flowers and trees in bloom. There are also fewer tourists, so you can enjoy Paris's many attractions without the crowds. If you're looking for a truly unforgettable experience, make sure to plan your trip to Paris during the spring or fall. You won't regret it!

Number Two Make sure you have your passport and visa ready

Paris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and it's no wonder why. The city is home to some of the most iconic landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum. Paris is also known for its beautiful architecture, delicious food, and rich culture. If you're planning a trip to Paris, it's important to make sure that you have your passport and visa ready. A passport is required for all international travel, and a visa is required for travel to France. Fortunately, the process of obtaining a passport and visa is relatively simple. You can apply for a passport online or at your local post office, and you can apply for a visa through the French consulate. With a little planning and preparation, you can ensure that your trip to Paris is safe and enjoyable.

Number Three Get a Eurail pass if you're planning on doing a lot of traveling around Europe

If you're planning on doing a lot of traveling around Europe, then you should definitely consider getting a Eurail pass. Eurail passes give you access to trains in 28 different countries, so you can easily travel from Paris to France without having to worry about buying individual tickets. Plus, Eurail passes are valid for multiple days, so you can take your time and explore as much as you want. And if you're traveling with a friend or family member, you can save even more money by getting a Eurail pass that covers two people. So if you're looking for a convenient and affordable way to travel around Europe, be sure to get a Eurail pass.

Number Four Learn some basic French phrases before you go- it will make your trip much easier

When planning a trip to a French-speaking country, it's a good idea to learn some basic French phrases before you go. Even if you don't speak the language fluently, being able to say a few simple phrases will make your trip much easier. Many people in French-speaking countries are happy to help tourists who are trying to communicate in their language, and even a few words of French can go a long way. In addition, knowing some basic phrases will help you navigate common situations, such as ordering food or asking for directions. So whether you're planning a trip to Paris or just want to be prepared for your next vacation, learning some basic French phrases is always a good idea.

Number Five Be prepared for crowds and long lines, especially at tourist attractions

Although it may be tempting to spontaneous when you're on vacation, it's always best to plan ahead as much as possible. This is especially true when it comes to popular tourist attractions. No matter how excited you are to see a certain site, it's important to remember that you're likely not the only one with that idea. In fact, you can expect to find large crowds and long lines at most major tourist destinations. While this may seem like a pain, it's actually quite easy to avoid if you're prepared. By doing a bit of research in advance, you can figure out the best times to visit popular attraooth and enjoyable vacation - without being stuck in line all day long.

Ultimate MONTMARTRE Paris Travel Guide// Insider tips, things to do & hidden gems

If you’re looking for the best things to do in Montmartre, then you’ve come to the right place. In this Montmartre travel guide, we’ll share with you the top attractions, must-sees, as well as some hidden gems.

The 18th arrondissement is one of my favourite districts in paris and it’s the number one destination I recommend visiting in the city. Best seen over the course of a few hours, Montmartre has a true village feel and was once the haunt of many famous artists and painters, including Renoir, Vincent Van Gogh, and Picasso.

Today you can wander around the cobbled lanes, visit centuries old churches, visit a working Parisian vineyard, and relax in gorgeous green spaces.

Places mentioned in the video:
- Montmartre tourist train
- Square Louis Michel
- Montmartre Funicular
- Rue Foyatier
- Sinking House of Montmartre
- Sacre-Coeur Basilica
- Square Marcel Bleustein Blanchet
- Eglise Saint Pierre de Montmartre
- Cimetiere du Calvaire
- Place du Tertre
- Le Consulat Café
- Rue Cortot
- Musée de Montmartre
- Montmartre Vineyard (Le Clos Montmartre)
- Au Lapin Agile
- La Maison Rose
- Place Dalida
- Square Suzanne Buisson
