পলাশীর যুদ্ধের আড়াইশো বছর পরে এসেও বিশ্বাস ঘাতকতার অভিশাপ থেকে মুক্তি মেলেনি মীর জাফরের বংশধরদের। পূর্ব পুরুষের বিশ্বাসঘাতকতার গ্লানি এখনো তারা বয়ে চলেছেন বংশপরম্পরায়। হিনম্মন্যতায় লজ্জায় এখনো স্বাভাবিক জীবনযাপন করতে পারেন না তারা। ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুর্শিদাবাদে গিয়েছিলাম মীর জাফরের বংশধরদের সন্ধানে। এই ভিডিওতে তুলে ধরেছি তাদের হালহকিকত।

Syed Mir Jafar Ali Khan Bahadur 1691 – 5 February 1765 was the first dependent Nawab of Bengal with support from the British East India Company. He was the second son of Sayyid Ahmad Najafi. His rule is widely considered the start of British imperialism in India and was a key step in the eventual British domination of vast areas of the subcontinent. Mir Jafar served as the commander of Bengali forces under Siraj ud-Daulah, the Nawab of Bengal, but betrayed him during the Battle of Plassey and succeeded him after the British victory in 1757. Mir Jafar received military support from the British East India Company until 1760, but failed to satisfy various British demands. In 1758, Robert Clive discovered that Jafar had made a treaty with
the Dutch at Chinsurah through his agent Khoja Wajid. Dutch ships of war were also seen in the River Hooghly. Circumstances led to the Battle of Chinsurah. British company official Henry Vansittart proposed that since Jafar was unable to cope with the difficulties, Mir Qasim, Jafar's son-in-law, should act as Deputy Subahdar. In October 1760, the company forced him to abdicate in favor of Qasim. However, Qasim's independent spirit and plans to force the East India company out of his dominion led to his overthrow, and Jafar was restored as the Nawab in 1763 with the support of the company. Mir Qasim however refused to accept this and went to war against the company. Jafar ruled until his death on 5 February 1765 and lies buried at the Jafarganj Cemetery in Murshidabad, West Bengal, India.

The last capital city of independent Bengal before British rule was named after Nawab Murshid Quli Khan, the Dewan of Bengal, Bihar and Odisha.Situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi, it is a city of splendour and is famous for its silk.It was made the capital of Bengal in 1717. The British shifted the capital to Kolkata in 1773. Plassey (Palashi), where the historic battle was fought in 1757 between Nawab Siraj-ud-Doula and Lord Clive of the East India Company, is only 40 km south of Murshidabad.

মুর্শিদাবাদ শহরের উপকণ্ঠে জাফরাগঞ্জে মীরজাফর ও তাঁর বংশধরদের কবর রয়েছে। এটি মীরজাফরের ব্যক্তিগত কবরস্থান। মীরজাফর নিজেই এটি প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছিলেন। এটি মীরজাফরের ১১০০ বংশধরদের কবরস্থান নামেও পরিচিত। এই কবরস্থানে মীরজাফরের পুত্র মিরন ও কন্যা, নবাব মীর কাসিমের স্ত্রী ফাতেমা বেগম ব্যতিত তাঁর পরিবারের প্রায় সবার কবরই রয়েছে। পুত্র মিরনের কবর বিহারে এবং কন্যা ফাতেমার কবর দিল্লির উপকণ্ঠে অবস্থিত। তাঁর বংশধরদের মধ্যে হাতে গোনা দুই একজন নবাবের কবর রয়েছে এই কবরস্থানের বাইরে।

পলাশী যুদ্ধের ইতিহাস আমরা সবাই জানি। বিশ্বাসঘাতক মীর জাফরের ষড়যন্ত্রে পরাজিত হতে হয়েছিল বাংলার শেষ নবাব সিরাজদ্দৌলাকে। সেইসাথে অস্ত গিয়েছিল আমাদের স্বাধীনতার সূর্য। সেই থেকে মীর জাফর সবার কাছে ঘৃণিত ব্যক্তি। তবে শুভ সকাল টিমের কাছে পলাশী যুদ্ধের ইতিহাস সম্পর্কে কিছু ভিন্ন তথ্য জানিয়েছেন মীর জাফরের অষ্টম বংশধর ড. সৈয়দ রেজা আলী মির্জা। অত্যন্ত বিনীয় তিনি। সবার প্রতি অনুরোধ তাকে নিয়ে কোন বাজে মন্তব্য না করতে। কারণ তিনি আমাদের কাছে কেবল তার অভিমত জানিয়েছেন মাত্র। বিশ্বাস করা না করা আমাদের নিজস্ব বিষয়।

নিমকহারাম দেউড়ী, মুর্শিদাবাদ/ যেখানে হত্যা করা হয় নবাব সিরাজকে

নবাব সিরাজ উদ দৌলাহর নাম শোনেননি এমন বাঙ্গালী হয়তো খুঁজে পাওয়া মুস্কিল। আর সিরাজের নাম মনে আসার সাথে সাথে যার নাম অবচেতনভাবেই চলে আসে, সে বোধ হয় মীর জাফর আলী খান। বাংলার ইতিহাসের পাতায় একজন নন্দিত, অন্যজন ততটুকুই নিন্দিত। ১৭৫৭ সালের ২৩ জুন বৃহস্পতিবার পলাশীর আম বাগানে মাত্র এগারো ঘন্টার যুদ্ধ নবাবের ভাগ্য তো বটেই, বদলে দিয়েছিল বাংলার ভাগ্যকেও। সেই যুদ্ধে মীর জাফরসহ নবাবের কতিপয় ঘনিষ্ঠ সহযোগীর বিশ্বাসঘাতকতার গল্প আজও মানুষের মুখে মুখে।
পলাশীর যুদ্ধে পরাজয়ের পর নবাব সিরাজ উদ দৌলাহ ২৩ জুন গভীর রাতে মূর্শিদাবাদ পৌঁছান। মূর্শিদাবাদ পৌঁছে নবাব ঘনিষ্ঠদের নিয়ে জরুরী বৈঠক করেন, উদ্দেশ্য শেষ চেষ্টা হিসেবে কিছু করা যায় কিনা। কোন উপায়ন্তর না পেয়ে ২৪ জুন রাত দশটা নাগাদ পাটনার উদ্দেশ্যে হীরাঝিল প্রাসাদ ত্যাগ করেন। কিন্তু পাটনার পথে রাজমহলের কাছে তিনি মীর কাশিমের (মীর জাফরের জামাতা) সৈন্যদের কাছে ধরা পড়ে যান। জানা যায়, দানশা ফকির নামে ভগবানগোলা ঘাটের এক মাঝি নবাবকে ধরিয়ে দেন।
খুব সম্ভবত, ২৭ জুন সন্ধ্যায় সিরাজ উদ দৌলাহকে মূর্শিদাবাদে আনা হয়। বন্দী নবাবকে রাখা হয় মীর জাফরের বাড়িতে। মূর্শিদাবাদের লালবাগ এলাকায় ছিল মীর জাফরের বাড়ি। বর্তমানে এটি নিমক হারাম দেউড়ি নামে পরিচিত। দেউড়ি অর্থ হলো প্রধান ফটক বা সিংহদ্বার। এটি ছিল মীর জাফরের বাড়ির প্রধান প্রবেশদ্বার। কালের গর্ভে মীর জাফরের বাড়ির মূল অংশটুকু হারিয়ে গেলেও এই দেউড়ি অনেক ঘটনার সাক্ষী হয়ে আজও দাঁড়িয়ে। ২১ জুন রাতে মীর জাফর আর তার পুত্র মীরণের সাথে বৃটিশ ইস্ট ইন্ডিয়া কোম্পানির কাশিমবাজার কুঠির প্রধান উইলিয়াম ওয়াটসের সাথে পলাশীর যুদ্ধের আগে ষড়যন্ত্রের শেষ বৈঠক এই নিমক হারাম দেউড়িতেই হয়েছিল। আত্মীয়-স্বজনদের কেউ যাতে কোনদিন নবাবী দাবী করতে না পারে সেজন্য সিরাজের ১৭ জন নিকট আত্মীয়কে এখানেই বিষ প্রয়োগে হত্যা করা হয়। এদের মধ্যে দু‘জন ঢাকার নবাব ছিলেন। বলা হয়ে থাকে, ২ জুলাই রাতে এই নিমক হারাম দেউড়ির পাশের সড়কে এক নীম গাছের নীচে মীর জাফরের পুত্র মীরণের নির্দেশে মোহাম্মদী বেগ সিরাজ উদ দৌলাহকে হত্যা করে।

It hosts the graves of the later Nawabs of Bengals of the Najafi dynasty, starting from Mir Jafar, and their family members.
The Jafarganj Cemetery has the graves of the family members of the Nawab of Bengal. It hosts the graves of Nawab Nazim Humayun Jah, his wives Umdat-un-nisa Begum, Amir-un-nia-Dulhan Begum, Sultana Ghetiara Begum and Rais-un-nisa Begum; Nawab Nazim Walla Jah, his wife Nazib-un-nisa Begum; Mir Jafar and his wives Shah Khanaum Begum, Babbu Begum and Munny Begum; Nawab Nazim Mubarak ud-Daulah, his wife Faiz-un-nisa Begum; Syud Ahmed Nazafi, (Mir Jafar's father); Muhammad Ali Khan (Mir Jafar's brother); Bohu Begum, wife of Nawab Nazim Ali Jah; Nawab nazim Nazam ud-Daulah; Nawab Nazim Saif ud-Daulah; Babar Ali; Mehr Lekha Begum, (also known as Guiti Afroz Mahal), wife of Humayun Jah, who was previously a mut‘ah wife and Ismail Ali Khan and Ashraf Ali Khan (the sons-in-law of Mir Jafar).

The Samadhi of AZIMUNNISA BEGUM
Azimunnisa Begum was the daughter of Nawab Murshid Quli Khan and also the wife of Suja Khan. Her Samadhi is seen on the way to Nashipur, near the Mahimapur Police Outpost.
Some sources said … Once upon a time she fell sick and her physician suggested her to take a special medicine which were made secretly from the liver of the little children. For this reason, many little children were kidnapped and the medicines were made. After that they were buried secretly. For this reason, the other name of AZIMUNNISA BEGUM was KALIJA KHEKO BEGUM.
Some other sources suggested that she used the little boys for the satisfaction of her sex, day by day. After the course of action, they are killed and buried secretly.
What was the fact, true or not, it is said Nawab Murshid Quli Khan ordered to buried Her alive. From the historic documents, it is said, Azimunnesa Begum died in 1730. This Samadhi was built by Nawab Suja Khan.
