GORGEOUS light at Bordoy | Landscape Photography Faroe Islands | 4K
Bordoy is the largest island in the northern isles of the Faroe Islands. In this landscape photography guide, I will show two beautiful locations from Bordoy. One is called Árnafjørður and the other is a hike above the town Klaksvik called Klakkur. I also got to fly my drone and it all turned out very epic!

Located midway between Iceland and Norway, the Faroe Islands are an arrowhead-shaped archipelago of eighteen dramatic basalt crags soaring straight out of the wild North Atlantic Ocean. Born of volcanic activity some 55 million years ago, these islands, still largely undiscovered by mainstream tourism, are a spectacular Nordic version of Hawaii. Settled by Vikings during the ninth century, the Faroes were probably discovered and first inhabited in the mid-sixth century by Irish monks. Saint Brendan the Navigator dubbed them ‘the islands of the sheep and the paradise of the birds’. The often mercurial weather creates an ever-changing backdrop to iconic mountains, fjords, sea stacks, waterfalls, and vertiginous coastal cliffs that harbour thousands of seabirds. In short, the Faroes are a photographer's paradise.

EPIC Landscape Photography hike to Mýlingur | Faroe Islands | 4K
Mýlingur is an epic mountain in the northern part of the Faroe Islands. In this video, I share my story from the hike and the landscape photography experience I had on one of the most remote and epic locations in the Faroes! Be warned, this hike is for experienced hikers only. It can be very dangerous and I urge you to follow the advice I give in the video. I also got to fly my drone (DJI Mavic pro platinum) and have included an epic sequence of drone video.

It's actually an understatement to say Sandoy is epic, but this underappreciated island in Faroes has one of the most fascinating coastlines in the entire Faroe Islands. Exploring Faroe Islands - Vagar
Faroe Islands is one of the most unique and remote destinations on the world and an amazing place for landscape photography. We visited Faroes for a week in August and in this video series I invite you to join us on our journey across the islands. We start with the island of Vagar. Vagar is where the airport is located and as such is going to be the first taste of Faroes for most people.

A lot of landscape photography comes down to location scouting. It's easy to take the picture. But, what lots of people don't realize is that finding that location alone takes a lot of time and effort. And, today we went to full effort in The Faroe Islands.
It should also be noted that today's landscape photography is so different than it was years ago thanks to social media and the internet. Now, we can rely on others to help find places. However, in new destination like The Faroe Islands, there's still so much time and planning that goes into landscape photography location scouting.
