Playa Conchal, Costa Rica
Considered to be one of the most exotic and prettiest beaches on the Costa Rican Gold Coast, Playa Conchal which means “shell beach” is located on the northwest Pacific Coast of Guanacaste, approximately 25 minutes north of Tamarindo and just south of Flamingo.
These white shells sparkle like diamonds in the sunshine. In contrast to the white sand, the water is turquoise-blue in color, deceiving visitors into believing they are on the Caribbean Coast.

Description: Set in Playa Conchal, W Costa Rica Resort Hotel has two outdoor swimming pools, fitness center and free WiFi. This 5-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. There are three different restaurants, offering from casual dining to seafood.
A buffet breakfast is served daily at the property.
The rooms and suites at the hotel are fitted with a seating area, a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a shower. All rooms at W Costa Rica include a private balcony and each room comes with a coffee machine and a draft beer dispenser. All rooms at the accommodations have air conditioning and a wardrobe.

Reviews:
1. The hotel is on a mountain site overlooking the Conchal Bay. It is a little far from the beach but the Pool called Zona Azul is beautiful during the day. The spa looks like a hobbit house and looks cozy. I would recommend to anyone.
2. My wife and I were staying at the Westin next door and wanted to explore a little and we wound up discovering the W which was going through a Friends and Family soft opening. The actual opening is 11-29. Like all W's it has the design elements you expect and then some. The Living Room and Wet Deck looked very inviting.
In the main building there are two restaurants 10 Norte and a Mercado which we did not try. At the Beach Club there is a restaurant called Zona Azul which through the kindness of the GM and F&B manager we were able to try. The menu here is patterned after the Blue Zone lifestyle focusing in on the regions of the world where there are the longest living people. Putting that aside, the food we had was phenomenal in both taste and presentation. Prices are inline with what you would expect to pay a a fine resort. It looks like not only will there be good dining here but the bar area and pool should be fun during the day.
We also walked through the Spa which was referred to as the Hobbit House by us, but was meant to remind you of the metamorphosis of a Chrysalis.
We did not get to experience any of the rooms.
As nice as everything was that we saw and experienced, I left the best for last... THE STAFF! Everyone we had the fortune to interact with were some of the most hospitable, kind and genuinely caring people that I have met; from the GM to our buggy driver Brandon.
My wife and I are planning our stay here as soon as our schedules permit.
