7 Islands No One Wants to Buy Even for $1

Do you ever you dream to own a private island? If you do, you'll probably find this information useful. Have you ever heard that there are whole islands out there that you can purchase for a fraction of the typical price? But the real kicker is that nobody wants to buy them! And there're reasons for that.

Have you ever heard, for example, about Japan's Rabbit Island? They began to thrive and multiply on the island after a chemical weapons plant was closed. And these days, thousands of friendly bunnies will greet you if you decide to pay them a visit!

SUMMARY:
- For just 80,000 bucks, you can become the owner of not one but six islands situated on Brazil’s Sao Francisco River. But you’ll be subject to small annual taxes.
- Although Little Rocky Island lies in the Atlantic Ocean, neighboring islands protect it from foul weather. There’s no property on the island, but you can build anything you like there!
- Also known as Terrible Tilly, this island’s nickname speaks for itself. Well, it’s not technically an island in the traditional sense, it’s basically a rock with a single lighthouse on it off the coast of Oregon.
- If you have an extra 40K, you can buy a 1-acre island with a view of picturesque Maine. There’s a little cabin on the island, and you can theoretically build some other property there too if you want.
- You could become the owner of a historic private island on one condition: you have to restore the fort situated on it.
- People typically associate private islands with some sort of tropical paradise. But Canada’s McGibbon Island is nothing like that. Perhaps that explains the super low price tag of 30 grand.
- Welcome to a tiny island off the coast of Tasmania, Australia. This offer is open only for couples, and both partners should be equally eager to go to the island.
- Ōkunoshima Island lies approximately 2 miles off the coast of Japan. From 1929 to 1945, there was a chemical weapons plant on the island that produced poisonous gas.
- Dubbed Battleship Island because it looks like an old half-destroyed battleship, Hashima is located about 9 miles away from Nagasaki. From 1887 to 1974, there was a profitable coal mine on the island.
- Located in Venice, Italy, Lazzaretto Nuovo is also open for tourists but home to nobody. In 1468, the island became a quarantine area for ships that approached the city. This move was meant to protect Venice from the plague.
- Jaco Island belongs to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. This island looks like the picture of true paradise: lush green trees, crystal blue waters, and white sand. But his place is uninhabitable.

Inside Italy's $1 Billion Marble Mountains

A slab of Carrara marble can cost up to $400 per square meter. The luxury stone comes the Apuan Alps, a mountain range in northern Tuscany that stretches for 58 km and reaches 2,000 meters high. The Carrara quarries have produced more marble than any other place on Earth. The market as a whole is worth over €1 billion ($1.1 billion) and produces 4 million tons of marble every year, with 13,000 people involved.

Taiwanese Seafood Tour - CRAB ARMY + TUNA MADNESS in Donggang | BEST Street Food in Taiwan

Our Patrons + Members get access to exclusive content, monthly blooper reels and private livestreams!

In this video we are taking you to the far south of Taiwan. About an hour from Kaohsiung in Pingtung County is an interesting town called Donggang 東港鎮. Donggang is an ancient fishing port founded in the 1600s and we are going to show you the best seafood you can have while you’re here.

Luckily, we were visiting during the Toro Festival (Southern Bluefin Tuna) where they unload TONS of fresh tuna daily and hold an auction. We arrived at the port at 6am and they had already finished unloading the tuna. This year’s (2020) weight record was over 200 KG!!! We watched as the vendors auction off the tuna at high speeds. It was a lot of fun to watch.

After the auction, we went into the nearby Huaqiao Fish Market. This is the market where you can sample some of the products that arrived from the boat fresh and other Donggang specialty items. Before eating, we walked around the market trying some free samples. That included tuna fish floss and Oil Fish roe, as well as Tuna, Marlin and Mahi-mahi roe. We also ordered an egg stuffed fish cake which was a delicious little snack (20 NTD / USD $0.33 each).

Next, we wanted to try some TUNA that came straight from the port. We found a shop inside the fish market and ordered Akami (lean tuna) and Fatty Belly tuna, which all came from Donggang. For the lean tuna, we ordered 10 pieces for 300 NTD (USD $10.05). The meat was deep red and the thickness of the slices were perfect. The piece-de-resistance however was the fatty belly. For 2 slices, it cost 340 NTD (USD $11.39). The moment the tuna hits your tongue, it LIQUIFIES. So amazing.

Next up, we wanted to have a classic Taiwanese seafood meal. We walked around the market and selected a good size Red Snapper (180 NTD / USD$ 6.03). We brought our fish to a restaurant inside the market to have it cooked Taiwan style, which is steamed with ginger, goose berries and green onions (150 NTD / USD $5.02). We also ordered Taiwan style spicy shrimp (300 NTD / USD $10.05) and clams with basil (250 NTD / USD $8.37). Of course, we washed it down with a Taiwan beer. Yum!

Fes Morocco | Largest medina in the world! | Getting lost in Fez, Morocco

With over 9,000 streets, it is very easy to get lost inside of the medina of Fes Morocco. In fact, if we are honest, it happened every single time we went into the medina! With how the narrow roads twist and turn and loop back, I don't think its possible for anyone to visit Fes and not get lost a little! Welcome back to TAIWAN! Today we are in Donggang 東港, in the south of Taiwan to experience some rare STREET FOOD! The port town is famous for its crazy seafood, but we will be exploring the local snacks today.

We visit the traditional morning market, where we heard of a snack known as Double Run Cake. Layers of mochi and brown sugar melt together and is not too sweet! One box cost 100 NTD (USD $3.34). They did not let us film at their stall, but this “double run cake” was unlike any mochi we have seen before.

Next, we walked not far from the market to a street food stall serving mantou (steamed bread) with a TWIST. The mantou is steamed and then grilled over charcoal, and we ordered ours covered in cream and condensed milk. This is another rare street food that cannot be found elsewhere in Taiwan. The bun was fluffy on the inside, slightly crispy on the outside and EXTREMELY sweet from condensed milk. There are savoury versions on the menu as well. Our bun cost 15 NTD (USD $0.50).

After the mantou, we were still hungry! We decided to try a traditional Taiwanese meatball dish. Taiwanese meatballs are glutinous and full of flavour, with toppings including garlic and coriander. We also ordered Taiwanese sausage to pair with the meatballs. It was delicious and the bowl of meatballs cost 30 NTD and a sausage cost 30 NTD (USD $1.00).

On our way to the next restaurant, we came across some ladies drying bright orange mullet roe. Taiwan’s mullet roe is very traditional. It’s pressed, dried and salted. We tried to speak with them in our broken Chinese and they were really friendly. Mullet roe is popular in this area, among other types of roe in Donggang like Oil fish roe, Marlin row and tuna roe.

There was one more unique and traditional dish in Donggang we wanted to try: rou guo 肉粿. It is a creamy rice porridge that has pork, compressed rice and Donggang’s specialty Sakura Shrimp. Sakura Shrimp is so rare that you can only get it in Donggang and one area in Japan. They are small and bright red. A medium bowl of rou guo costs 50 NTD (USD $1.67) but the owner was so friendly, she wouldn’t let us pay! If you want a dish that represents Donggang, check this place out.

Before leaving Donggang, we visited Donglong Temple (東港東隆宮) - home of the King’s Boat Burning Festival. Thank you to Wes Davies for the amazing footage!

Finally, we returned to Kaohsiung to eat one final meal. We wanted roasted duck and knew of a take out shop that roasts full ducks in massive vats over wood fire. Although it’s cooked street food style, they serve it as you would have in a fancy restaurant. They carefully carve the duck meat and skin. You get flour wraps, house sauce and scallion. The skin is rich with spices and the meat is juicy. The remainder of the tough meat and bones are stir fried with basil and onions and you eat it with gloves. We ordered a half duck which cost 250 NTD (USD $8.34). It was CRAZY delicious.

Why 1 Million Pigs A Week Could Have Been Euthanized Even During A Meat Shortage | Big Business

When COVID-19 outbreaks closed meat processing plants across the US, a meat shortage and unprecedented meat prices soon followed. With no plants taking animals, some farmers were forced to euthanize their herds. But what exactly caused this break in the supply chain and could the industry have avoided it? Japanese Street Food - GRILLED EEL BBQ + CHEAP SEAFOOD Omakase!! BEST Japanese Food in Taipei!

EP.4 Street Food Around the World in Taiwan - JAPAN

???? SUPPORT US :
???? BECOME A MEMBER :

This is the next episode from our Street Food Around the World Series. Today, we are back in Japan! Japan’s influence in Taiwan is undeniable, and that means that delicious and authentic Japanese food is always available. We are going to be eating all of the Japanese classics in this video!
We start our day in Jizhouan Literature Forest to check out the beautiful Japanese architecture and garden. Next, we stopped into a traditional restaurant serving unagi don, which is Japanese BBQ eel over rice. It is traditionally served in a lacquer box. The eel is grilled over charcoal and coated in layers of Japanese BBQ sauce. We also ordered unagi tomago roll (eel and egg) and Japanese beer. It was a delicious start to day (560 NTD / USD $18.92 total).
Next, for dessert we go to Taipei Main Station where you can get street food style Taiyaki. Taiyaki is a type of cake that is pan cooked in the shape of a fish. You can choose from many different stuffings, but we ordered red bean, which is very common in Japan. It is made fresh before your eyes! (50 NTD / USD $1.69 each).
We wanted to see some of the historical buildings from colonial Japan so we visited the Qidong Street Japanese Houses. Unfortunately, it is temporarily closed, but seeing the buildings from outside the gate transports you back in time. We also checked out Nishi Honganji Relics, which is a reconstructed Japanese Buddhist Temple. Both demonstrate real Japanese architecture, and are worth checking out while in Taipei.
Before dinner, we wanted to have a Japanese street food that famous around the world: Takoyaki. Takoyaki are an Osakan dish that is made of a batter with octopus, green onions and ginger that is grilled in a specialized pan that forms the batter into a ball. These balls are topped with mayonnaise, seasoning and bonito flakes. These are the perfect bite sized Japanese snacks! (70 NTD / USD $2.36).
For our final meal of the day, we found an absolute HIDDEN GEM. A street food restaurant that serves a REAL Japanese omakase. Omakase translates to “leave it up to you”, meaning the chef. The chef prepares sushi dishes and seafood of their choice, based on seasonality and their expertise. All you need to do at this restaurant is chose a price. We chose the 1000 NTD option and got over 15 dishes. The atmosphere on the street was casual and relaxing, but there was nothing casual about the food. It was exactly like the dishes you can find in prestigious and private Japanese kitchens. And you cannot beat the quality and price of this meal!!! (1000 NTD / USD $33.78).
