????????NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER: Melt salted butter in a pot and stir in chopped pork until it turns golden brown. Add chopped onion and celery, gently stirring. Introduce anchovy fillet and chopped garlic, and more salted butter. Gradually add all-purpose flour, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens. Incorporate chopped clams and pour clam juice into the pot, stirring well. Add cooked diced potatoes and stir, then season with salt, white pepper, dried parsley, and basil, ensuring even distribution. Finally, pour in Half and Half, continuing to stir. Serve the dish with diced green onions.

????LOBSTER ROLL: Hold the tail and gently squeeze to detach it from the head. Remove the lobster meat from the tail shells. Break the claws and extract the meat, then chop it into bite-sized pieces. Assemble the lobster rolls by placing a lettuce leaf inside the bun, creating a bed for the lobster meat, and filling the buns with the chopped lobster. Serve the lobster rolls with fries and lime, topping each roll with melted butter.

Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

Trap Door Waterslide Scares The Heck Out Of This Cruise Ship Girl
A few years ago, when we were cruising the Mexican Riviera on the Carnival Spirit, I shot this video of people going down the ship's newest attraction... the Green Thunder waterslide.
The Green Thunder slide had just been added to the ship... and at that time, no other cruise ship had anything like it. Instead of the traditional twister-slide design of most cruise ship waterslides, this one starts off with a straight-down vertical drop.
You get in to a chamber, they close the door around you, and then the floor drops out from under you and you fall straight down. Scariest two seconds of your life! It's funny to see people's reactions when that floor drops out from under them.
After that initial drop, it turns in to a normal curvy waterslide and before you know it, you've splashed down in to the end of the ride. It's the craziest, scariest, and most-fun waterslide at sea!
I shot this video with my Canon T2i Digital Rebel, during a 9-day Mexican Riviera cruise in March, 2012.
The Green Thunder slide was not originally installed on to the Carnival Spirit when the ship made her maiden voyage in 2001... it was added as an upgrade during dry dock in January of 2012.
The Carnival Spirit is currently based in Australia, offering cruises to New Zealand and the South Pacific islands.
After the success of the Green Thunder slide on the Carnival Spirit, Carnival added one to the Carnival Legend. Carnival's competitors took note, too... there are now two similar vertical drop slides on the Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway.
Several people have commented that they thought the ride would end with the people dropping out in to the ocean beside the ship. I think that's such a funny idea that I created an alternate version of the video with that suggested new ending. Take a look at

Trap Door Waterslide On A Cruise Ship!
You get a pretty great scare during the first few seconds of your ride on this cruise ship waterslide! The floor drops out from under you, and you plunge straight down in a free-fall. It's really scary, in a very fun way.
Water slides like this are common at water parks on land, but only the best cruise ships have these vertical-drop waterslides. Many of the newest cruise ships from Norwegian Cruise Line have them. I shot this video during a Mexican Riviera cruise on Norwegian Joy. The waterslides on most other cruise lines are truly lame in comparison to this very thrilling vertical-drop slides on NCL.
A few other cruise ships where you'll find slides like this are Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Getaway, and Norwegian Breakaway. You won't find this type of slide on any Royal Carribean ship, and only on a few of the ships from Carnival and Disney.
