#82 Slow Life in French Countryside | Weeks in Normandy

Having Alexia taught me the biggest lesson in life.
That the days of playing are over only because we’ve chosen them to be over.

She taught us to enjoy life more.
So we can continue to play, continue to smile more than we frown, continue to treat the world like the playground it is.

OUR MOVE TO FRANCE: SIMPLE FIRST STEPS TO GETTING RID OF STUFF- Another Postcard

We're moving to Nice France in May 2024! NOW, we have to start the overwhelming process of reducing all of the things we have spent our lifetime buying, accumulating, collecting, loving, down to approximately 2 large suitcases, 2 carryon bags and maybe a dozen boxes that we'll ship separately. Where to begin?!

For those of you who want to shop on my Poshmark page, here's the link -

For those of you who have been with me from the start, THANK YOU SO MUCH! It is because of you that I have finally reached my first goal of 1000 subscribers. Thanks for sticking with me, from the “throw anything at the wall and see if I get any views” days right up to the present.

Hi! I'm An Scott. I'm a happily retired woman in my late 60's, with my “golden years” on
the horizon, living the “good life” with my fun husband Jeff and my little Yorkie, Bella.

I created this channel for like-minded “middle-agers” and seniors on the path to or already embracing their “Golden Years”. On this channel, a “lifestyle” channel, I’ll share videos about travel, dining out, health tips, beauty, sexuality in our “mature” years, and all of the issues that affect us as we age and try to stay beautiful, sexy, energetic and vital…in our golden years.

Next spring, 2024, when my husband retires we plan to move from the USA to Nice France and live out our “golden years” on the sunny Mediterranean coast of southern France. Moving from the USA to a foreign country is no small “project”. Subscribe to my channel and as we progress through the steps of doing that, you’ll be able to follow along through each stages of our preparation and then catch up with us, as we settle in to our new life.

For now, come with us as we embrace our days and nights living everyday as though there is no tomorrow, as two 60plus-ers.

I hope you’ll subscribe to my channel, join our Facebook community connect with me on social media and share your thoughts and comments here or there. If there are any topics you’d like to see us share or “visit” with you, please be sure to let me know! NOTHING IS OFF LIMITS! I’m happy to talk about all of those things us “older” women think about but rarely say out loud. So feel free to send me suggestions in the comments, always.

DO YOU KNOW THESE FRENCH EATING HABITS? | Life in France

You don’t have to go to France to know that the French take mealtime seriously. From seeking out quality ingredients to cooking from scratch to long, leisurely Sunday lunches, mealtime is no joke in France. One aspect of French culture that I’ve adapted to and admire is the fact that the French make it a priority to sit down and enjoy their meal. Let me tell you why I’ve embraced French eating habits, especially this one.

For those of you in France, I LOVE both of these healthy meal services. Get a discount with my referral link!:

Life in France as a German expat, adapting to French habits, immersing into French culture, cliché

What is it like to be a German expat in Paris? What are things you need to get used to, what prejudice do you have to deal with?
Talking about how I tried to immerse into the French culture, but then the people expect me to have all the typical German traits, such as loving football and cars and they are excited to talk to a typical German person when I do not feel I am the cliché German.

Talking about the ways I adapted to French habits and changed since I moved to Paris.

I | Bienvenue to our new French country home |slow living| Hautes Pyrénées, France

Bonjour à tous!

We managed a trip down south to stay in our new home for 5 days, it felt wonderful! Unfortunately I had a mishap with my memory card and lost a lot of footage. It’s okay, we will be back in a few months (permanently) and from there on I can share everything we plan to change about the house and we choose to live in it. Updates to the interior, maintaining our parkland, designing a garden and an orchid on 1 hectare of land! If you enjoy slow living and everything French such as; interiors, food, art, landscapes, tourism and garden, this channel will be for you!

We hope you support our endeavors and subscribe!

À bientôt!
