Antigua and Barbuda have sadly both experienced some tough circumstances over the years, but these little Caribbean beauties continue to pull tourists to the amazing beaches, food and people each year. We decided to take an island safari tour around Antigua to get a real feel for what Antigua is like outside of the tourist resorts.
Barbuda wasn't on our itinerary this time, but hopefully on our next visit to the Caribbean we will get the chance to also tour around Barbuda safari style to scope out how the island is/has recovered.
Thats a wrap on our Caribbean travel vlogs, this time in Antigua has been exactly what we needed... an eye opening experience, a luxury state and a chilled vibe. We've got nothing but love for the island and everyone we had the pleasure of meeting.

St John’s, Antigua - Our Day in Port
8 hours in St John’s with no paid excursions. Plenty to do right? It’s a bustling place with plenty to distract you. Getting away from the cruise terminal provides a more authentic Caribbean vibe. And of course Antigua is famous for its many beaches so a short cab ride for a few dollars took us to the nearby Fort James beach to sip rum punch and chill on a luscious sandy beach.

My wife and I visited Antigua in the Caribbean on our first ever cruise in 2008. The cruise was on Ocean Village Two sailing from the Mediterranean and crossing the Atlantic Ocean, with Antigua our first Caribbean port of call. This video features highlights from our full day Island Safari excursion visiting many of the island's top tourist spots such as Shirley Heights, Nelson's Dockyard, Betty's Hope, Devil's Bridge, and we even got a view of Eric Clapton's house. Check out the colourful fish landed on the beach near the end of the video.

We've spent a few days in Antigua, but we haven't had the chance to explore the island of Antigua as such. This is also our first time in the Caribbean so a snorkeling tour and a kayaking tour were high on our list for this trip!
In this travel vlog we tick of not only the snorkelling tour and the kayak tour, but also a tortoise sanctuary as well! We had no idea that Antigua had a Tortoise Sanctuary opening, so we were lucky to get a sneak peak into what it will be like.
So far Antigua has blown us a way, probably pretty easy to tell that from the first few travel vlogs! The Caribbean has a unique vibe that we absolutely love and can't wait to share more of our adventures around Antigua in the next few vlogs as well.
