The Original Fish Tacos ???? ???? !! MEXICAN STREET FOOD in Ensenada, Mexico!! ????????

Welcome to Ensenada, Mexico! Known for its port and cruise ships, Ensenada is a Mexican street food and seafood paradise. In this Mexican street food tour of Ensenada, we started with a moon fish soup, then headed to eat at one of the world’s best street food stalls, ate some smoked fish, and finally finished this tour with the original fish tacos. What a day of Mexican street food in Ensenada! #Ensenada #MexicanFood #streetfood

Thanks to my friend Jeffrey Merrihue ( for organizing this trip. And to Scott Koenig: and Paco Perez: for arranging this tour.

La Opah Del Güero - Moonfish restaurant - On our drive from Tijuana to Ensenada, in Baja California, we stopped just outside Ensenada to eat a unique and rare soup made from moonfish. It was delicious, and incredibly comforting.

La Guerrerense - Sabina Bandera is a culinary hero. Anthony Bourdain called her stall the best street food in the world, and he was right in every way. Her warm personality is what will first invite you in - she’s one of the friendliest ladies in the world. That paired with her unbelievable seafood combinations on top of tostadas and sauces your tongue can’t believe, and you truly have one of the best street food stalls in the world. It was unbelievable, I’m still dreaming about the tostadas at La Guerrerense.

Ahumadora Pacifico - Smoked Fish - Next we stopped around the corner for some Ensenada style smoked fish.

Tacos Fenix - Fish Tacos - Known for serving the original fish tacos, there is no way you want to miss this Mexican street food treasure in Ensenada. It’s simple and delicious and nothing more and nothing less than you want it to be. Fried fish, fresh tortilla, salsas, and cabbage.

Tacos Corona - Fish Tacos - Additionally, across the street, there’s another fish taco stall that some mentioned they loved as well. And so naturally we needed to try both. Tacos Corona were amazing, fresh fish, great tortilla, and again, a myriad of delicious salsas.

And that completes this amazing Mexican street food tour of Ensenada, it was an incredible day or dreamworthy tacos and tostadas.

ENSENADA, MEXICO Travel Guide ???????? The Birthplace of Fish Tacos & Margaritas!

???? WATCH NEXT: Best Birria in San Diego

???? MERCH & GOODIES:
???? PLEASE SUBSCRIBE:

Ensenada, Mexico, one of the first settlements in the Californias (US State and Mexican States of Baja California), has since emerged as a popular cruise ship destination and jump off point to Mexico’s wine region; Valle de Guadalupe, which we will visit in the next episode.

Ensenada is a laid-back coastal city that is famous for delicious seafood. It is also home to the original fish taco, and birthplace of the Margarita; Two reasons alone to take a tour of Ensenada!

After crossing the US/Mexico border at San Ysidro in San Diego to Tijuana on our first day, and taking our Baja Road Trip south, we stopped in Rosarito for breakfast and tacos. Then, Puerto Nuevo for lobster before arriving to our Airbnb in Ensenada last night.

Today, we set out to find the best things to do in Ensenada, and as per usual, it all begins with food.

There are several taco stands that lay claim to the original Baja-style fish taco, but general consensus grants Tacos Fénix the distinct honor of being first, with the same family still serving up this street treat since it opened in 1970.

The fish tacos here are delicious, and so are the shrimp tacos. They are all battered and fried right in front of you, and then you get to pick out your own toppings.

I highly recommend stopping at Tacos Fénix on your Ensenada tour for breakfast (or lunch).

Next, we took a walking tour of Ensenada and visited a popular church and the main downtown area. One recommendation that many of you had on Instagram as the best things to do in Ensenada was to visit Mercado Negro (Black Market), which is the local fish market here.

It was small and smelled like fish (obviously), but it was cool to see where our seafood was coming from.

From Mercado Negro, we continued our food tour of Ensenada to Sabinas Restaurant. Now, this place is actually famous because of a street cart that is usually parked outside called “La Guerrerense.” A Mexican food street cart that is famous for its seafood tostadas.

These Mexican tostadas were smothered with ceviche, avocados, homemade salsas, and both raw and cooked seafood. They are full of flavor and very original. I can see why Sabina has become so famous, and La Guerrerense is a must-visit while visiting Ensenada.

In the afternoon, we set out on a mission to discover the birthplace of the Margarita. In Ensenada, there are two bars that claim to be the original Margarita.

First, Bar Andaluz, at the Riviera Cultural Center in downtown Ensenada claims that a bartender here was given the task of creating a new signature cocktail by then owner Margarita King.

Second, Cantina Hussong’s claims that a bartender was creating new Tequila cocktails when the daughter of German Ambassador (Margarita) came in and tried the cocktail. She liked it and he named it after her.

Both very good stories, both very good margaritas!

If you’re looking for the best things to do in Ensenada, I highly recommend following our tour for the day!

Next up, we head to Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico’s wine region, before heading back north to Tecate and Mexicali!

Stay tuned!!

Hours: 9 am - 5 pm.

Mariscos El Güero was and is a serious traditional seafood cart serving the finest products prepared by a mariscos master that along with La Guerrerense and Mariscos El Pizon, forms Ensenada's seafood cart triumvirate. There are all the usual clams and oysters: Pismo clams, black clams, Pacific oysters, pen shell clams, mussels, and the prized chocolatas, or chocolate clams. You can get them raw, or prepared with chopped vegetable, salsas, and other condiments–start with the chocolatas, but you might want to let them know to hold the ketchup! Ketchup in my cocktail–yes–but on my chocolata?–no manches! Sometimes that when-in-Rome thing doesn't fly.

The best that El Güero has to offer is straightforward, and highlights the regional products.
Chocolatas have a medium clam flavor, and a nice chewy texture–you should only order these if they are live because their flavor and firmness dissipate very fast. You'll have no problem with that here, though.

There is always a crowd of locals, tourists, and cruise ship day trippers around this stand snacking on a tostada especial, which is a bounty of chocolatas, Pismos, octopus, cooked shrimp tossed with onions, tomatoes, and diced cucumbers for making your own tostadas.

???? A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.

So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.

Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.

We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Mexican Street Food in Tijuana ???????? INSANE TACOS TOUR IN MEXICO ????(Part 2)

????Watch - Tijuana Street Food (Part 1):
????Thanks to Jeffrey Merrihue:
????100% Real Durian Chips - Order Here:

Ultimate Mexican street food tour of Tijuana, Mexico (Part 2). This was actually the same day as Part 1, but there were so many tacos, I had to split the video in two. We continued this epic Mexican street food tour with seafood tacos, the original Caesar’s salad, carne asada, and the fastest taco maker in the world! #Tijuana #MexicanFood #streetfood

Thanks to my friend Jeffrey Merrihue ( for arranging this tour. When you’re in Santa Monica, go eat at his restaurant, Heroic Italian ( where you’ll find the best sandwich. Also, thanks to Scott Koenig: for setting this tour up.

Mariscos el Mazateño - Shrimp Enchilado - This place was absolutely amazing - and I knew it was going to be good when we walked in in the middle of the afternoon and it was packed. We had a couple different tacos, including the marlin with octopus, but the winner was the shrimp enchilado, a huge taco stuffed with spiced shrimp and cheese.

Caesar's Hotel - Original Caesar’s salad - Although this doesn’t fit in the Mexican street food theme, there was no way we could visit Tijuana without trying the original Caesar’s salad - where Caesar Cardini invented it. It was awesome, to see the entire process made before you and it was everything it needed to be, no more and no less. Must eat when you’re in Tijuana, Mexico.

Tacos El Vaquero - Carne Asada - This small stall late at night in Tijuana is a winner - their Sonoran style carne asada is out of this world. They grill up steaks of your choice, slice them up, into tortillas, and you have a choice of salsa. Absolutely stunning.

Tacos Fitos - Tijuana, Mexico - Finally, this is the tacos tall in Tijuana that we missed in the morning the day before because they had already sold out. But we came back the next morning. Not only are their Tijuana red oil birria tacos the best I’ve ever had, but their taco master is by far the fastest taco maker I’ve ever seen. Unbelievable, you will have dreams about Tacos Fitos.

That wraps up this insane ultimate Mexican street food tacos tour of Tijuana, Mexico. Thank you for watching!

The Legend of the BAJA FISH TACO ????????!!!

The Mexican Minute with A Gringo in Mexico. EPISODE 3: Baja Fish Tacos: Hey everyone! This is Scott Koenig, and bienvenido to episode 3 of The Mexican Minute with A Gringo in Mexico. There’s something fishy about this week’s episode. Because we’re talking about Baja California’s FAMOUS fish taco!

It’s debatable among fish taco aficionados as to whether the first filet was battered and fried in Ensenada or San Felipe. Though most agree that it was Japanese fishermen who immigrated to the region in the 1950s and 60s who influenced this Baja California staple. Baja fish tacos are always best when they’re made with fresh, local fish. In Ensenada, it’s usually shark – angel or dogfish – dipped in tempura batter, deep fried and served on a corn tortilla. Simply add a squeeze of límon, shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, a splash of salsa and crema and voila — you’ve got a classic Baja fish taco. Tacos El Fenix in Ensenada claims to be the home of the fish taco, now served everywhere on the Baja peninsula. My favorite is Tacos El Estadio in La Paz, Baja California Sur — where large, scrumptious filets of sea bass are fried to perfection. But no matter where you enjoy them, the fish taco is requisimo when in Baja California.

Huge MARTIAN Crab!! ???????????? MEXICAN FOOD in Popotla Fishing Village, Mexico!

????Watch - Tijuana Street Food (Part 1):
????Thanks to Jeffrey Merrihue:
????100% Real Durian Chips - Order Here:

After an insane Mexican street food tacos tour of Tijuana, we continued south in Baja California to Popotla - a fishing village teeming with every fresh seafood you can imagine - including giant spider crabs, also known as Martian crabs. Before leaving Tijuana we had some amazing seafood breakfast, and continued to eat legendary carne asada, finishing off with an epic crab and seafood meal. #Mexico #MexicanFood #streetfood

Thanks to my friend Jeffrey Merrihue ( for organizing this trip. And to Scott Koenig: and Paco Perez: for arranging this tour. Thanks to Sebastian: for hooking us up in Popotla.

Mariscos El Paisa ( - Tijuana, Mexico - But first, in the morning before leaving Tijuana, we thought it would be a great idea to get started eating some seafood to get warmed up. At Mariscos El Paisa (Mariscos El Conchal del Paisa), their crab tostadas are out of this world, and we had an amazing fresh seafood shellfish cocktail as well. Amazing place to eat when you’re in Tijuana.

Tacos El Yaqui - Perrones Tijuana - Then on the way to Popotla, further south in Baja California, we stopped at Tacos El Yaqui for legendary carne asada. Their huge tacos were amazing.

Mariscos La Estrella ( - Popotla, Mexico - But the real highlight of the day was arriving to Popotla for the amazing seafood. The fishing village community is a full seafood market where you can get anything from the sea. But the big ticket is the spider martian crabs. At Mariscos La Estrella, she fried them up, simple and extremely delicious. When you go to Popotla, go say hi and have a meal at Mariscos La Estrella as she is rebuilding her restaurant!

Mexican Street Food ????????!! ULTIMATE TACOS TOUR ???? in Tijuana, Mexico! (Part 1)

????Mexican Street Food in Tijuana - PART 2:
????Thanks to Jeffrey Merrihue:
????100% Real Durian Chips - Order Here:

Get ready for the ultimate Mexican street food tour of Tijuana, Mexico. I’ve never eaten so many tacos, and been so happy in a 14 hour period in my life. This is just Part 1, but Part 2 was the same day. Stay tuned! #MexicanFood #streetfood #tacos

Thanks to my friend Jeffrey Merrihue ( for arranging this tour. When you’re in Santa Monica, go eat at his restaurant, Heroic Italian ( where you’ll find the best sandwich.

San Diego, USA - The first part of this Mexican street food tour started in California, where we drove to the border and parked the car. This is the first time I think I’ve ever crossed a border on foot and gone straight to a street a food tour. All went smoothly.

Tijuana, Mexico - Welcome to Tijuana where a van was ready to pick us up and take us on this ultimate Tijuana street food tour. So happy to be back in Mexico. One of the best things about Tijauana is that it’s a city that attracts people from all over Mexico, and so you’ll find all regional variations of Mexican food.

Tacos Mike - Tijuana, Mexico - We started at a small stall outside a tire shop where they served all sorts of mixed tacos. I had the Taco de chile relleno, a chile stuffed with cheese and fried and covered in salsas.

Mariscos Ruben - We continued next to Marisocs Ruben, known for their unique small rolled tacos with cheese and marlin. They were unbelievably tasty

Aqui Es Texcoco - Tijuana, Mexico - Next we went to Paco’s restaurant, where they serve barbacoa, Texcoco style. It was amazing, and we also had the whole head, including some real deal eye tacos.

Xolo Tacos - Tijuana, Mexico - Next on this Mexican street food tacos tour, we went to Xolo Tacos to eat their insane bone marrow taco. It’s a birria taco, or a Tijuana red taco, but exploding with bone marrow.

Tacos El Gallito - Adobada Tacos - Next stop, we met up with Adrian Mejia - - to eat Tijuana adobada tacos from the trompo - the vertical shawarma style spit. Unbelievable.

Be sure to keep watching Part 2:

BOURDAIN: BEST Street Food in the WORLD???????????? !!!

The Mexican Minute with A Gringo in Mexico. EPISODE 5: Hey everyone! This is Scott Koenig, and bienvenido to episode 5 of The Mexican Minute with A Gringo in Mexico. It was 60 years ago when Sabina Bandera’s family first rolled their seafood cart – La Guerrerense – into the port city of Ensenada, Baja California. And began preparing what Anthony Bourdain famously proclaimed, “The Best Street Food in the World”.

There are Mexican mariscos carts on just about every corner of Ensenada’s malecón. But there’s only one La Guerrerense and only one Sabina — whose seafood tostadas, cocktails and other oceanic offerings attract a hungry crowd every weekend. Given Ensenada’s location on the Pacific – and the fact the city’s main fish market is just a few blocks away – La Guerrerense offers some of the freshest seafood in Mexico. Sabina’s most popular culinary creation is her tostada of erizo and almeja, sea urchin mixed with chopped Pismo clam. One can also order tostadas of ceviche, octopus, shrimp, sea snail, crab and more. If it swims in the ocean, you can order it here. If Sabina isn’t at one of her new restaurant locations in Mexico City, Guadalajara or Monterrey, chances are she’s topping tostadas at her cart in Ensenada. Brightening the street with her contagious smile and sharing the seafood love with her adoring fans from all over the world.

The Ultimate MEXICAN STREET FOOD TACOS Tour of Mexico City! (ft. La Ruta de la Garnacha)

►Subscribe to Lalo’s channel:
►T-shirts available now:

Welcome to the best tacos in the world - the ultimate guide to Mexican street food tacos in Mexico City!

I met up with Lalo from La Ruta de la Garnacha ( he’s from Mexico City, he makes videos about street food as well. And he took me to his favorite tacos in all of Mexico City. We each ate the most tacos in one single day that we’d ever eaten in our lives, and it was the greatest taco day of my life!

Here are all the places we ate in this video:

Tacos Joven - They are known for their tacos de canasta, which are basket tacos, famous in Mexico City. They are served from a basket, and they keep hot the entire day as they are served. The highlight here was the chicharrón taco with chicharrón salsa.
Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco

Taqueria El Abanico - This is Lalo’s favorite restaurant in Mexico City for carnitas, the wildly popular braised pork taco. The entire rib in my taco was the highlight, so tender and flavorful.
Price - 20 MXN ($1.08) per taco

El Pescadito de Sonora - Originating from Hermosillo in Sonora, El Pescadito serves Mexican seafood tacos, especially shrimp or marlin tacos. Their tacototo is a taco that will change your life. This was as good as food gets for me.
Price - 35 MXN ($1.89) per taco

Tacos Charly - When it comes to Mexican street food, suadero is one of the greatest, a massive pan of slow braising beef in its juices. When you order your tacos, they slice up the meat, dip your tortilla in the fat, and you eat it with onions, cilantro, and salsa - pure meat heaven.
Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco

Taqueria Los Güeros - Tacos de tripa, intestines, are very popular in Mexico City as well. They may not be the most pretty tacos, but they are immensely flavorful and have all sorts of different textures going on in your mouth.
Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco

Tacos Los Juanes - This is a great Mexican street food restaurant in Mexico City that serves all sorts of different tacos. We came for the tacos de cabeza and tacos de lengua, both of which were fantastic
Price - 10 MXN ($0.54) per taco

El Vilsito - For Mexican street food in Mexico City, the ultimate taco, the most loved by everyone is no doubt, Al Pastor. Cooked in the vertical spit, a technique brought over from Lebanese immigrants, Al Pastor is usually made with marinated pork that’s juicy and flavorful it might make you weep tears of joy. Lalo and I ordered, not just your ordinary tacos de al pastor, but the King of all tacos, the Gringa!
Price - 50 MXN ($2.70) each

Thanks again to Lalo from La Ruta de la Garnacha:

This was the greatest taco day of my life. Thank you for watching!

Visit their Instagram to find out where they will be next!

IG:

The BEST FISH TACO in Southern California is from Da Bomb Fish Tacos!
They only have 2 things on the menu so you know it's has to be good. Fish tacos and shrimps tacos. They serve them with corn or flour tortillas. Do yourself a favor and try both of them.
The fish is BIG! They don't skimp on the size and that batter is so flavorful and has a light crisp. Being 50 miles away from the ocean they have their seafood delivered daily so you always get the best taco!

Las Vegas content creator Velia Hernandez joins me as my special guest. This is the fish taco that will have her coming for more! Thank you Velia but next time you are here...don't use so much habanero salsa. My mouth is still on fire lol

Thank you to Daniel Leo for making a special guest appearance. Let's do more tacos brother!

Mexican Street Food - SEAFOOD TOWER!! ???? Burritos, Tacos + Ceviche in Tucson, Arizona!!

???? Carne Asada Tour:
???? SUBSCRIBE: Don’t miss new food videos!

TUCSON, ARIZONA - Welcome again to Tucson, Arizona, home of some of the best Sonoran food. Today, we’re taking you on an ultimate Mexican street food to eat a variety of different foods including amazing breakfast tacos, fresh Sonoran seafood, Puebla style mole, and finally we finish with more amazing Sonoran carne asada, some of the best in all of Tucson. Let’s go eat!

Check out Bennie:

Taqueria Porfis ( Price - $2.50 per taco - For breakfast we started off trying Taqueria Porfis, a type of delicious breakfast taco originally from Nogales, Mexico across the border of Arizona. The tacos are very similar to tacos de canasta, or basket tacos. The tortillas are dipped in red oily salsa, then filled with a mixture of meat and potato and seasoned. There’s nothing you’d want to be eating more in the morning in Tucson than tacos porfis!

Mariscos Baja Mar ( Total price - $111.21 - Next we headed to Mariscos Baja Mar for a huge Sonoran Mexican seafood feast. All was good, but the highlight for me was the seafood tower with multiple layers of seafood piled high.

El Antojo Poblano en Tucson ( Total price - $33 - Next, Carlos and I headed over to El Antojo Poblano en Tucson to try Puebla Mexican food, and especially enmoladas - mole sauce over corn tortillas wrapped with chicken on the inside. The owner gets here mole paste from her Mother in Puebla, so you can expect the real deal, authentic taste. It was so food, highly recommended when you’re in Tucson. Although most of the food we ate in Tucson was Sonoran, it was nice to eat some more variety.

Los Mezquites ( - Total price - $40 (we ordered more than shown in video) - Finally to complete this street food tour, we headed to Los Mezquites for a final carne asada feast. This is one of my favorite places in Tucson where they grill over mesquite all outdoor cooking. Everything is prepared on the fire, including the tortillas and the beans and the onions. So incredibly good. And we finished up this tour with a bowl of Sonoran white menudo - delicious!

And that completes another incredible Mexican street food tour in Tucson!

Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico:

My wife Ying and I, and our baby Micah, traveled to Mexico with my friend Carlos and his family. I met Carlos many years ago in University in Phoenix, Arizona, and he’s originally from Sonora, in Northern Mexico. Throughout University, Carlos and I would eat Mexican food non-stop, and we dreamed of traveling in Mexico to experience more. Finally we made this trip happen!

We actually flew into Cancun, and then immediately drove down to Playa Del Carmen where we based ourselves. On our first day we decided to take a day trip to Tulum, a small town on the Riviera Maya coast, and one of the official historical port cities of the Maya.

Taquería Honorio - First things first, we started off with some breakfast tacos at a well known Mexican street food spot in Tulum. I had a mix of four different types of tacos, all of which were extraordinary, but probably the best was the lechon, the roast suckling pig. This is a must eat tacos restaurant when you’re in Tulum.
Price for my plate - 64 MXN ($3.45)

Ruins of Tulum - 70 MXN ($3.77) - One of the main attractions in Tulum are the ancient Mayan ruins. It’s a beautiful place, and what makes it so incredible are not only the ruins, but the fact that they are right up along the gorgeous turquoise Caribbean coast. It was great to walk around, even though it was packed with visitors.

Playa Paraiso - Next we drove over to Playa Paraiso, just down the beach from the Ruins of Tulum, which crystal sparkling water.

Chamico’s - By lunchtime we were all very hungry, so we drove over to a place called Chamico’s a spot I had searched out on Google maps. Just from the photos it looked like a place I needed to go, from the relaxing atmosphere to the amazing fresh seafood. It was just as good as I had imagined. The restaurant was right along the beach, breezy, and the Mexican food was amazing. We had a few plates of ceviche, fried fish, and a shrimp cocktail.
Total price (for 4) - 1,180 MXN ($63.53)

Tulum, Mexico, is a true beach paradise, and it’s an amazing place to visit in Mexico. Thank you for watching!

LEGENDARY Street Food Stand In MEXICO (Ensenada Eats)

LEGENDARY Street Food Stand In MEXICO (Ensenada Eats)
.
We have docked from the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas in Ensenda, Mexico. From here we head to a taco street food stand called Tacos Fenix. Tacos Fenix has been in business since the 70's going on 52 years! It's a street food stand known for their fish and shrimp tacos. Fried battered goodness, tasty condiment add-ons, and a vibe that I truly call my element, this street food spot is a hidden gem in my book. We had walked an extra 15 minutes from the shuttle drop-off in Ensenada's tourist area. If your ever in Ensenada, Mexico, be sure to look up Tacos Fenix for some of the best tacos de pescado, and tacos de camaron, you'll ever try! I hope you enjoy the video.
