Filmed in July 2019, shop for Indian groceries with me in the Indian district of Paris called Gare du Nord. A friendly and safe place with everything you need for Indian cooking! The produce sold here are usually very fresh like: mint, coriander and curry leaves, the usual okra, small eggplants, moringa, gooseberries and even ginger, these are some of the veggies that are difficult to find otherwise in regular French supermarkets.
The first supermarket entered is called 'Indian Supermarket'. Address: 184 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis, 75010 Paris
Enjoy walking with me through Gare du Nord while I pick up veggies to prepare for an Indian dinner over the weekend, a look at the bhelpuri guy on the sidewalk and a visit to the sweet shop.

You will meet an Indian, Sri Lankan and Pakistani community at La Chapelle in Paris, Next to Gare du nord.
If you’re looking to step off the beaten path and take a break from traditional Paris for a while, head over to the neighborhood known as La Chapelle, situated at the cusp of the 10th arrondissement. Otherwise referred to as “Little Jaffna in reference to the Sri Lankan capital city, this neighborhood is bursting with activity, culture, and color. Here, you’ll not only find shops and restaurants reflecting the prominence of Sri Lankan and South Indian culture; you’ll hear Hindi, Tamil and Urdu languages bouncing around you on the streets.
Being in La Chapelle feels like getting out of Paris, and you’ll be very glad to have done so once you get to know the city well and are looking for unusual jaunts. Make sure to save time for chai tea, samosas, and window-shopping for saris.

When you are in Paris, eating in french restaurants can become very expensive. Especially in the center of Paris, where all the tourists attractions are located. But there are many options to eat cheap. And to make it fun, we challenged ourselves to eat delicious french food for less than 5 euro. It was really fun and we could see that there are plenty of options at this price. We tasted croissant, pie, crepes, croque-monsieur, french sandwich and eclair pastry. At the same time, we walked around Paris and went to mouffetard street, the pantheon, notre dame and more.
