Culture And Charm Of The People Of The Dominican Republic - Retire In The DR

The team meets with Mr T of the Educated Traveler channel to discuss one of the best things about living on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. Basically it is the culture and the gentle, friendly nature of most of the native Dominicans residents. It is fast and easy for most expats to settle in and get comfortable with the slower and less stressful lifestyle.

Like our DRescapes team, Mr T makes it his mission to tell his viewers the pros and the cons of moving to and living in the Dominican Republic. Like us, he prefers to live on the North Coast and says if he was rich he would probably live in Cabrera away from the throngs of tourists. Shhhh...don't let the secret out, but it actually it can be less expensive to live well in Cabrera for even less than the cost of living in Sosua and Cabarete.

If you would like to check out the North Coast for yourself, join us on one of our DR Escapes Discovery Tours where we will help you see all the towns favored by expats and even help you meet other expats that made the move before you.

Dominican Republic | 2023 all you need to know before visiting!

✈️ Best Fly Deals For You -

Dominican Republic | 2023 all you need to know before visiting!

Welcome to the Official Travel Guide Channel! In this video, we'll take you on a tour of the beautiful Dominican Republic, also known as a Caribbean paradise. Our Las Terrenas Vlog showcases why the Dominican Republic is a popular tourist destination, and we'll provide you with everything you need to know before visiting.

Explore the serene sceneries, crystal-clear ocean water, and white-sand beaches of Las Terrenas, a town on the northeastern coast of the island. Discover the lively atmosphere and vibrant culture of Puerto Plata, located on the northern coast, and Cabarete, a small town in the eastern part of the country that's famous for its kiteboarding and windsurfing.

If you're planning to visit the Dominican Republic, make sure to brush up on your Spanish before you go. Spanish is the primary language spoken on the island, and you'll find that it's essential to know the language if you want to communicate effectively with the locals.

The country's culture and customs are unique and charming, and you'll find that the people of the Dominican Republic are among the friendliest and most welcoming in the world. However, it's essential to keep in mind that the island is relatively poor, and people will put forth the effort to obtain your money. Therefore, it's essential to be aware of your surroundings and not get caught up in scams.

To fully immerse yourself in the Dominican Republic's culture, try to adopt the rule of Tranquilo. This Spanish word means calm, quiet, and serene and is frequently used on the island to indicate a peaceful state of mind. Also, it's essential to dress appropriately and not wear cargo shorts and flip-flops everywhere, as this can be viewed as disrespectful to the locals.

Finally, we recommend that you don't consider driving while in the Dominican Republic. The drivers on the island are notoriously crazy, and the roads can be chaotic. Instead, take advantage of the many transportation options available, such as taxis, buses, or tours.

When you visit the Dominican Republic, you'll find that there's no shortage of things to do and see, from exploring the Samana Peninsula to staying at the Excellence Resorts in Punta Cana. So pack your bags and come see why the Dominican Republic is one of the most beautiful destinations in the world!

Retire In Puerto Plata Dominican Republic - North Coast Dominican Republic

Starting our survey of the towns on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, the team checks out the town of Puerto Plata. At the moment Puerto Plata is going through a bit of a revival, with the addition of the nearby Amber Cove Cruise Docks. After only a couple years, Amber Cove already brings in over 250,000 cruise visitors to the Puerto Plata area.

If you prefer a more commercial town, or if you are planning to build a local tourist related business, then Puerto Plata might be the town to consider for your retirement in the Caribbean or for a family move. Each of those 250,000 cruisers come prepared to enjoy the local attractions, purchase trinkets and treasures, take tours, eat in restaurants and have a few drinks in the local bars.

In future segments, we will talk to other expats that have made the move to the North Coast of the Dominican republic and will survey each of the North Coast towns where expats prefer to settle.

Be sure and SUBSCRIBE to our channel so that you never miss the latest tour video.

On our Retire On The North Coast series we will tour Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete, Rio San Juan, Cabrera and Las Terrenas on the Samana Peninsula. All of these communities welcome expats and each offers something totally different.
