BAKO NATIONAL PARK DAY TRIP (Everything you Need to Know!)
I was in Kuching June 17-22nd 2022 for the Sarawak Rainforest World Music Festival and decided to visit Bako National Park.
Most people seem to go for 2 days 1 night but we only had time for a day trip and there didn't seem to be much info on doing that online.
And some local friends also mentioned in passing about the high tide at Bako and how we could potentially get stuck there....and while I'm quite a nature nerd, I wasn't so familiar with Sarawak terrain.....Along with the fact that I had just finished a huge work project and wasn't in my usual alert state of mind, I was really hesitant to go to Bako for a day trip.
None of the info I found online actually reassured me, hence why I created this video!
Because Bako is SUPER EASY to do and is really amazing! Absolutely gorgeous.
So do pay this place a visit =)

I went for the monkey, especially the big nose monkey - Proboscis monkey! But it was not so easy, or perhaps I am just not that lucky! But finally I see it!

Bako National Park is a national park in Kuching Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. Established in 1957, it is the oldest national park in Sarawak. It covers an area of 27.27 square kilometres (10.53 sq mi) at the tip of the Muara Tebas peninsula at the mouth of the Bako and Kuching Rivers.
The most famous of them is shaped like a cobra's head which can be spotted on a boat ride from the headquarters or one of the beaches.
Bako is one of the smallest national parks in Sarawak. However, it features multiple biomes (including rainforest), abundant wildlife, jungle streams and waterfalls, secluded beaches, and trekking trails. A network of 16 marked walking trails of different lengths allows visitors access. In addition, various beaches are accessible by boat from Kampung Bako or Teluk Assam, as well as a geologically interesting sea stack rock formation. The range of attractions and activities in a compact area have made Bako one of the most popular parks in Sarawak.
How to getthing there?
A 45-minute (37 kilometers) drive from Kuching to Bako village (Kampung Bako). From there boats can be chartered at the terminal for the 30 minute ride to the Park HQ. Upon arrival visitors are required to register at the Park HQ. You should contact your travel agent for reservations.

Bako National Park is a national park in Kuching Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. Established in 1957, it is the oldest national park in Sarawak. It covers an area of 27.27 square kilometres at the tip of the Muara Tebas peninsula at the mouth of the Bako and Kuching Rivers. It is approximately 40 kilometres by road from Kuching. Millions of years of erosion of the sandstone have created a coastline of steep cliffs, rocky headlands and stretches of white, sandy bays. Wave erosion at the base of the cliffs has carved many of the rocky headlands into fantastically shaped sea arches and seastacks with colored patterns formed by iron deposition. The most famous of them is shaped like a cobra's head which can be spotted on a boat ride from the headquarters or one of the beaches. Some of these rock formations can be seen on entry to the Teluk Assam Beach, which fronts the park. The park can only be reached by a 20-minute boat ride from the village of Kampung Bako.

Bienvenue dans ce nouveau Vlog en plein coeur de la jungle Malaisienne ! Dans le Sarawak, nous avons pu séjourner dans la charmante ville de Kuching et nous avons pu voir les Orang Outan dans leur élément naturel, dans la réserve de Semenggoh. Puis nous avons randonné dans le parc national de Bako.
Et pour clôturer le week-end, nous avons visité le Sarawak cultural village, avec exploration de maisons traditionnelles malaises. Bref, un séjour qui fût bien dépaysant !

Bako National Park Part 2
Part 2 sambungan dari Part 1Bako National Park, kembara saya bersama dengan Rahiman dan Mohd Tabrani. Kami sampai ke lokasi Telok Pandan Kecil dengan jarak perjalananan lebih kurang 2.6 KM dan berpeluang melihat lokasi berbatu berbentuk kulat atar saya panggil 'Mushroon Rock Formation' hasil hakisan angin ribuan tahun di puncak Telok Pandan Kecil.
Kami Berempat juga sempat menjelajah sebuah gua di Telok Pandan Kecil dan juga mengikuti tour dengan bot ke lokasi 'Sea Stack kawasan berbatu yang terbentuk hasil dari hakisan angin dan air laut sejak ribuan mungkin jutaan tahun lalu yang membetuk formasi batuan berbentuk Kepala Ular, Katak sedang bertenggek dan juga Kepala Kucing.
