How to Find the British Airways SECRET Lounge | Heathrow
In this video, I'll show you one of my favourite Heathrow lounges which most travellers wouldn't be aware of. Located near the B gates at Heathrow's terminal 5 you have the least known of the British Airways lounges.
As mentioned in the video, lounge traffic in recent times has really picked up, especially at Heathrow's terminal 5. This is as result of a variety of factors. The first of course being the most obvious in that there's been a strong recovery of travel demand in recent times. Additionally, a number of the One World carriers are still operating out of T5 which would usually be out of T3 resulting in greater demand on the lounges. Finally, British Airways was very generous towards it's frequent flyer status members in recent years and issued a number of status extensions to members - I believe this is to swelling the current demand also.
The departure screens in the main terminal and main lounges often flag if a flight will depart B gates well before the gate assignment. If you are heading out from a B gate, it's a great opportunity to check out this lounge, even for a brief time before boarding. Despite knowing Heathrow very well, I'm unsure whether it's possible to return to A gates (main concourse) so wouldn't recommend making the trip out here if you're not departing B gates. There does seem to be a bit of a pattern of flights which regularly depart B gates, this is often east coast US and Dubai in my experience so if you are on one of these flights, you may well get the chance to visit.

British Airways Terminal 5 London Driver-less Pods
Pods at Heathrow airport are driver-less pods that transport you from the thistle hotel and parking area directly to terminal 5.
The Pods began operating at London Heathrow in 2011.
Unlike all UK road and rail traffic, which drives on the left, the PRT system drives on the right.
Taking the pods at heathrow is one of my favorite ways to reach heath-row for an early morning flight. Alternatively you can take the free bus back to the airport.
The pods time is around 5 minutes and costs around five pounds for the journey, so if you think about it, that's a pound a minute which does sound expensive.

FIRST WING | Heathrow T5 | British Airways
As a newly minted VIP British Airways Executive Club Gold member, today I test out British Airways' London Heathrow Terminal 5 'First Wing' at T5.
The First Wing is exclusively for First Class and Oneworld Emerald passengers only. Everyone else is shooed away.
The First Wing encompasses a private check in area, private security lane and private access into the First Class Galleries lounge.
I then take a Club Europe flight down to the wonderful Italian city of Bologna.

First class passengers and British Airways' Gold Executive card holders can now enjoy a fast and direct access to the lounges from a dedicated check-in area. This major and long awaited improvement saves time and offers a more relaxed and seamless experience with:
- improved check-in area behind a three-meter-high eye-catching enclosure. Inside the walls of the First Wing are covered in oak panelling.
- two dedicated security lanes
- a walkway for a direct access to the lounges without a lenghty detour through the terminal
The First Wing replaces a slow trek with the best fast track and is better than the million pound door! From concourse to lounge in less than five minutes!
Overall, an excellent, fast, seamless, exclusive and calm experience in a high quality and self-contained environment.
in 2018, the First Wing concept is to be rolled out at JFK.

In this video, we were flying to Geneva, and we unexpectedly got an operational upgrade (op-up) to Club Europe too, so I'll review the Club Europe service as well.
This is the first post-lockdown review, after the lounge has returned more or less to the pre-pandemic normal, so even for First Class lounge regulars, you may spot some difference in the service there.
BA First Wing and First Class Lounge can be accessed by anyone with an Executive Club gold card status or OneWorld Emerald status. If you are actually travelling in first class, or have the Gold Guest List status, then you can access the even better Concorde Room instead.

British Airways FIRST CLASS & Concorde Room
I'm flying from London Heathrow (LHR) to Mexico City (MEX) for 12 hours in British Airways First Class on the 787-9.
My journey starts in Terminal 5 going through The First Wing before making my way to the British Airways Concorde Room - an exclusive lounge for First class passengers.
The cabin features the 2015 version of the BA Prime First class seat. There is a newer version of the seat with a door available on some 777s and all of the 787-10s.
I have a look around what the seat has to offer and review the service on board including the two full meal services as this is a 12 hour flight.

The British Airways Gold First Class lounge Heathrow Terminal 5 is designed for passengers with a Gold executive card - genuine First Class passengers are accommodated in the Concorde lounge upstairs.
Do take the time to explore, because there are several bars, and a hidden area down a corridor, plus the famous terrace viewing area and bar. The best impression is the stunning view to the southern LHR runway.

My first visit to the British Airways First Class Lounge at Heathrow T5 was also my first flight back since lockdown in March.
So also a chance to experience the new App based service in the First Class Lounge at Heathrow.
I must say I was very impressed with the new service and I thoroughly enjoyed the First Class Lounge menus and wine and of course a glass or 2 of champagne.

I step in and walk around to find luggage wrapping, then find the right check in desk for my flight.
After security control I have walked in AirSide, then the time has come and I board my airplane.

If you are flying in First Class from Heathrow Terminal 5, the elite of the elites go to the Concorde Room Lounge, one of the best airline lounges in the world.
The British Airways Concorde Room is split into two: inside and outside on the balcony. As soon as you enter on your left there is the bar, while the Concorde Dining restaurant is on the right. There are plenty of seats here, or you can sit on the middle bar, by the imitation fire, or in squashy armchairs. Most people however head to the balcony, and this is where the Concorde Room comes into its own.

Here is a tour of London Heathrow's Terminal 5 in 4K. LHR is the second-busiest airport in the world in terms of international passenger traffic, and T5 is the home for British Airways. You'll see inside Terminals 5A, 5B, and 5C, and you'll also get to see lots of widebody aircraft (at least 82 by my count), including 23 British Airways 747s! While we didn't have the best weather, perhaps it was fitting to tour LHR on a cloudy, rainy day.
This was my first visit to an airport outside the U.S. in over 5 years, and I hope you'll enjoy watching this video as much as I enjoyed making it. Safe travels!

In this video I take a tour of the stunning newly redesigned British Airways Galleries First lounge at their global home at Heathrow's terminal 5.
As part of the video, I'll head through the private First wing at Heathrow giving direct access to the lounge via dedicated check-in facilities and a private security lane. The lounge offers; sleeping areas, at table service, showers, a private terrace overlooking the airfield and until recently, a spa. This lounge is for sure the best option at terminal 5 and quite possibly the best of Heathrow's lounges, what do you think?
