BRAZILIAN OR EUROPEAN? WHICH PORTUGUESE SHOULD YOUR LEARN?

Brazilian and European Portuguese are both stunning and charming languages. But how do the two vary, and which one ought you learn?
In today's video we are going to talk all about differences between Brazillians and Europeans Portuguese!

Sixth most spoken language in the world after Chinese, Spanish, English, Hindi, and Arabic is Portuguese. Portuguese comes in two primary varieties: Brazilian (spoken in Brazil) and European (spoken in Portugal). There are considerable variances in their tone, pronunciation, syntax, and vocabulary, despite certain commonalities.

Let's examine the variations in the historical viewpoint:
Due to their physical separation, countries often lag behind the mother nation in terms of language development. Although the colonization of Brazil really started in the 16th century, Portuguese was not recognized as the country's official language until 1758. The increased interaction with European and Asian immigrants throughout time led to modifications in the language.

Portuguese is spoken in the other nations that Portugal conquered in a way that is closer to the mother tongue. Why? Since many of them are African nations, there hasn't been any external interaction with other civilizations that would have altered their speech patterns. Second, those nations attained their independence considerably later than Brazil, and throughout their early growth, they had greater interactions with Portugal.

One of the primary distinctions between the languages is pronunciation. Brazilians pronounce their vowels more clearly and broadly, while Portuguese speakers say their vowels less clearly and with a more closed mouth.

Your choice will also be influenced by the resources that are available to you. Brazil has a bigger population than Portugal and more native speakers, which affects the amount of information that is available. According to Ryan McMunn of BRIC Language Systems, it's easier to find materials for Brazilian Portuguese learners than it is for those who study the European sort. Finding a reputable site that provides Brazilian Portuguese training and has access to local speakers can significantly increase your chances of succeeding and learning at your own speed in a manner that will stick.

PORTUGUÉS DE PORTUGAL vs. DE BRASIL | vdeviajar.com

¡EH!

So, as you probably know, in Brazil we don't speak brazilian, this language doesn't exist. And we don't spanish too. We were colonized by Portugal so Brazilians speak portuguese!

Brazilian PORTUGUESE : Do You Speak It ? | Brazil Language

#Brasil #Portuguese #Language

Bom Dia e Kumustaka my Anthronaut. I’m Mark Thomas your traveling anthropologist. Please subscribe now to reel in future updates.
Welcome to our inaugural episode in this Brasil-Philippines series. In our previous show, we learned about Filipino and Chinese Chess.
Now we will speak Brazilian Portuguese.
But first, we have Breaking Knews! Where did Brazil get its name? I’ll give you the answer at the tail end of this video.
While you are planning your first or next trip to Brazil, you will probably want to make some Brazilian friends, right? In order to do that, you’ll need to learn a little Portuguese. But why, when nearly all South Americans speak Spanish? Because during the intense European world domination of the 15th century, Iberian siblings, Portugal and Spain, were also rivals. So, to settle the dispute over which country could colonize which territory, Spanish-born Pope Alexander VI, has them sign the 1494 Treaty of Tordesillas. This creates a line in the sand where Spain makes its claims to the West of it, and Portugal to the Eastside. Unfortunately, to the right side is mostly ocean, so the Portuguese re-negotiates until they get the huge area we now call Brazil.
Phew! Fortunately, this latin-based language is fun and, reasonably, easy to learn, and it shares similarities with El Espanol. To get you jumpstarted, let’s launch your adventure with some basic greetings, shall we? But in order to add that local authenticity, my Brazilian buddy Ricardo will teach you…
Hello peoples. How are you? My name is Ricardo, I’m from Brazil,Sao Paulo. Here are some popular ways for you to greet someone here. For example, Hello …Ola. Good Morning…Bom Dia. Good Afternoon…Boa Tarde. Good Night…Boa Noite. Tchau…Bye Bye, for example.
Thank you and Obrigado, Ricardo. Now my Anthronaut, you can make a great impression on your new Brazilian amigos! And if you have additional questions or suggestions, please leave them in the comments below, and I’ll be sure to respond promptly.
Now, back to our Breaking Knews! Before we asked you, Where did Brazil get its name? It comes from the popular Brazilwood national tree called Pau-Brasil, after they dropped the pau!
If you enjoyed this linguistical carnival , then please LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE to this channel, and then learn even more Brazilian Portuguese at my page, Anthronauts.com. On our next colorful episode, we’ll learn another Filipino language.
Tchau, Paalom, and see you next time. I’m Mark Thomas for Anthronauts.
