A 1 bedroom apartment for less than $400 USD??!! The Most Affordable City in Africa
According to Mercer’s 2023 Cost of Living City Ranking, the most affordable city in Africa is Windhoek, Namibia. Since rent is typically the biggest expense, I took a look at online real estate agencies and market places for the cost of a 1 bedroom in the city center. On property24.co.na, the first thing I noticed is that most of the available apartments had 2 bedrooms, with a handful of 1 bedrooms, one priced as low as 5,500 Namibian dollars (under $400 USD).
