The Traditional Artisans Of Morocco | Unusual Cultures | TRACKS

The city of Fez in Morocco is rich in cultural history and has been linked to islam for over 1,000 years. The city has retained its medieval character and architecture, with winding narrow roads and plenty of artisans such as leatherworkers, kettle makers, and bakers. Moving onto Zimbabwe, we see a country with plentiful natural resources, but a lack of political stability.

MOROCCO | Morocco's best guide 2023: Agadir, Mhamid, Merzouga, Ait Ben Haddou, Marrakesh

Welcome to our luxury travel couple's adventure in Morocco! In this first part of our journey, we spent the first 5 days exploring the stunning beauty of this North African country. Our journey started in Agadir, where we rented a car and spent the first night in the city before heading out to explore.

We visited the Agadir souk and medina, where we immersed ourselves in the vibrant culture of Morocco. Afterward, we embarked on a nine-hour drive to Mhamid, where we were picked up by our driver to take us to Umnya, the luxury desert camp. The camp is located in the middle of the Sahara desert, and we were amazed by its epic, magical, and mystical beauty. We enjoyed camel riding, sandboarding, and delicious local cuisine while we were there. We also took some time to create unique content for our Instagram account.

Our experience at Umnya was unforgettable, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a secluded and unique experience in the desert. After two days, we traveled to Merzouga, a town famous for its stunning sand dunes. We stayed at the Riad Serai, a luxurious accommodation situated on the outskirts of the Merzouga dunes. During our stay, we visited Sunrise Palace, a unique accommodation with the most unique pool we've ever seen.

We then went camel riding through the desert to the Caravan Serai Camp, the first luxury camp in Morocco, where a famous Chinese series was filmed. We had the chance to enjoy green tea on the dunes while admiring the stunning beauty of the desert. We also had the opportunity to spend the night with the local Berber people from the Ait Atta tribe.

Our next stop was Ait Ben Haddou, where we enjoyed the sunset and sipped tea on the terrace cafe at the top. Ait Ben Haddou is a UNESCO World Heritage site and has been used as a filming location for many popular movies and TV shows.

Our first part of the journey ended with a drive across Morocco to Marrakesh, stopping along the way at the Todra Gorges, where we enjoyed the clean water and views of the canyon. We can't wait to share the second part of our journey with you!

Adventure Elliot is a bilingual travel vlogger (English and Spanish) with a particular interest in the Spanish speaking world. I enjoy taking adventures - big or small - and my goal is to show the Spanish speaking world 1 video at a time.
The goal of my channel is simple yet complex: I want to document and share authentic & educational content of anything related to Adventure Travel, Geography, & Language in the Spanish-speaking world. It's kind of a loaded topic, but it allows me to never exhaust my creative outlets. The truth is, I've always been extremely passionate about what I'm doing on my channel, but I never properly documented it when I started adventuring as a younger man in my college years. I've made over 150 Youtube videos in both English and Spanish, and I have aspirations to make 1000s more. If that sounds interesting to you, join the community and follow me along the way.. The king's chef Marrakesh Morocco | Thomson Travels

Marrakesh, a city known for its rich culture and vibrant traditions, offers a captivating blend of history, art, and, of course, cuisine. During a visit to this enchanting Moroccan city, I had the privilege of crossing paths with a truly extraordinary individual—an individual who held the esteemed title of the King's Chief and was often affectionately referred to as the King of Food.

This chance encounter became a highlight of my trip, as it allowed me to delve deep into the heart of Marrakesh's culinary traditions. The King's Chief was not just any chef; he was a culinary maestro, a master of the culinary arts who had spent decades perfecting the flavors and techniques that made Moroccan cuisine world-famous.

My introduction to this culinary wizardry began with an invitation to the royal palace. Here, in the opulent surroundings of the palace's kitchen, I witnessed a culinary spectacle like no other. The King's Chief, with his towering toque blanche and an aura of culinary wisdom, orchestrated a symphony of flavors and aromas that transported us to a world of gastronomic delight

On The Road To Morocco's Rif(er) Mountains (#122)

Ready for a cross country adventure in Morocco? I decided to travel from Tangier, a port city overlooking Europe, to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. This whole region was famous for numerous things: wars between continents, amazing views, the Berber language and culture, and most especially for having a lot of hash farms. I wasn't sure what I'd find on this trip, but it was time to find out.

We would find out along the way if I could integrate myself with the Amazigh, or Berber people. Or would I just get overcharged at the tourist shops..
