This video will show you the most popular islands in Thailand. We are going to compare over 20 Thai islands to help you choose the perfect spot for your holiday.
I have lived between a week and a few months on the most famous Thai islands and will share with you my personal experience with each place. There are so many Thai islands, which one should you choose? It really depends on your holiday mood. This video will give you an overview of Thailand’s best islands. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below and I will be happy to answer.
????️ Quick summary of Thailand’s most popular islands and my favorite beaches on each island. The islands (and beaches) are organized by order of personal preference - best to least favorite:
1. Koh Kut (Koh Kood) – Ban Ao Jak, Bang Bao Beach, Klong Chao Beach.
2. Koh Phangan – Haad Rin (Full Moon beach), Haad Yuan, Bottle Beach, Koh Ma Beach, Chalok Lam Beach.
3. Koh Kradan – The main beach.
4. Koh Phi Phi – Both beaches on the island are fantastic and 5min walking distance from one another.
5. Koh Mak – Ao Soun Yai Beach, Ao Kao Beach, the “Lazy Day” beach.
6. Koh Chang – Klong Prao Beach, Klong Kloi.
7. Koh Samui – Chaweng beach, Lamai Beach.
8. Koh Tao- Sairee Beach, Ao Hin Wong, Tanote Bay, Aow Leuk.
9. Koh Lanta – Long Beach, Klong Kong, Klong Nin.
10. Koh Muk (Koh Mook) – Sivalai Beach.
11. Railay – Railay Beach (it does not matter where you stay as all the beaches are within walking distance from one another).
12. Koh Yao Noi – Klong Jark Beach.

Welcome to the Phi Phi Islands and A&A Travelling. The Phi Phi Islands(pronounced Pee-Pee) are a group of six islands located in the Andaman Sea, 45km southeast of Phuket and 40km southwest of Krabi. The islands are part of Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park . The two main islands are koh Phi Phi Don and Koh Phi Phi Leh, with Phi Phi Don being the only inhabited island.
Koh Phi Phi Don was largely destroyed in 2004 when the Tsunami hit, but has since been rebuilt and recovered.This is a tropical paradise that offers white sandy beaches and bright turquoise water, along with a diverse culture. Here you will find characteristic limestone rock formations and a great wildlife. This is a postcard perfect destination..
How to get to Phi Phi Islands?
There are two main ways to get to the islands.: by speedboat or by ferry from Phuket or Krabi.
Ferries to the Koh Phi Phi Islands take around two hours from Phuket and around 90 minutes from Krabi and Koh Lanta. Public ferries are a good option and it`s advisable to buy tickets in advance to get the best deal.
Best time to visit Phi Phi Islands
This is a year round destination, so when to visit it depends on your weather and budget preferences. The peak season is from November to April but it is also when the prices are highest. May to October is the time you can save some money if you`re on a budget. We visited the island
in July twice and the weather was just beautiful.
Phi Phi Islands weather
May, September and October are normally the wettest months, although the temperatues are still warm and you still see a good amount of sunshine.
March to mid May are the hottest months with very high humidity. November to February are the coolest months and the most popular time to visit the islands, which means that they also are the more expensive months to visit.
THINGS TO DO IN THE PHI PHI ISLANDS
With several islands to explore and plenty of tourist attractions, there are a lot of activities to do in the islands. Here are the most popular things to do in the Phi Phi Islands.
-Koh Phi Phi Don
As the only inhabited island, Phi Phi Don is where you will find all the accommodation options and the famous nightlife.
-Phi Phi Viewpoint
This amazing viewpoint is one of the highlights of the islands. It`s not an arduos climb, being a 25 minute normal walk. Seating in one of the rocks and enjoying this breathtaking view, is one of our favourite things to do in the islands. Morning is the best time to visit and the route is well signposted from the Reggae Bar.
-Koh Phi Phi Leh
The island lies 1.5km south of Phi Phi Don, and it`s an uninhabited island that comprises various stunning bays and caves. This breathtaking island is definitely worth exploring, with amazing snorkeling opportunities where you can discover exotic fish and colourful coral.
The most popular spots to visit are: Maya Bay, Sama Bay, Pi leh Bay , Palong Bay and Viking Cave.
Sama Bay and Pi Leh Bay are excellent swimming and snorkeling spots. Palong Bay is a popular dive site and a good place to spot black-tip reef sharks.
Maya Bay is part of Phi Phi Leh and the most popular spot on the island, made world famous by the film The Beach starring Leonardo Di Caprio.This beach comprises several small beaches and the crystal clear water allows you to see the underlying reef with clarity.

This island is famous for its nightlife with beach parties and various entertainmemts. The drinks
are strong in Thailand, and particulary true in Phi Phi Don.

Ao Nang Beach is a great place to admire the Andaman sea, take a dip, and watch the sunset.

The Soi RCA Entertainment area is the place to go if you’re looking for a late night party.
8. Go For an Island-Hopping Tour
We did a day trip by longtail boat, covering 4 islands. There were multiple stops for swimming and snorkeling and a stop at Railay Beach.

7. Hike the Wat Tham Sua
Sitting right outside of Krabi Town, the Tiger Cave Temple is certainly worth a visit. Most visitors come to climb the 1,260 steps to the top of the hill.
6. Explore Thung Teao Forest Natural Park
There is a short boardwalk trail that takes you to three different pools in the middle of the jungle: Crystal Pool, Emerald Pool, and the Blue Pool.
5. Dip into the Krabi Hot Springs
Cut into smooth rocks, the hot springs flow from deep rooted thermal springs that are located inside volcanic chambers.

Krabi Town is the capital of Krabi. And like many other big towns in Thailand, there is a local night market here. Every Friday to Sunday from 4 to 10 PM the market is set up next to the Chao Fah Pier.

Koh Phi Phi are undoubtedly Krabi’s most popular islands to visit. From Ao Nang, you can join a full-day speedboat tour to the islands, which are encircled with sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and spectacular natural scenery.

KOH SAMUI, THAILAND (2023) | 10 Incredible Things To Do In & Around Koh Samui
Koh Samui is located in the southern Gulf of Thailand. It’s the largest island of the Samui Archipelago and the second-largest in the country. In this video, we’ll highlight 10 top things to do in Koh Samui.
10. Relax at the beaches
Our favorite beach in Koh Samui was Lamai, which is more relaxing than Chaweng but still has lots of tourist facilities and entertainment around.
9. Discover the Secret Buddha Garden (Tarnim Magic Garden)
Hidden high up in the hills in Koh Samui’s center, this garden is filled with unique statues and structures amid lush jungle surroundings.
8. Visit the Na Muang waterfalls
The Na Muang 1 waterfall is close to the parking lot and easily accessible on foot, while Na Muang 2 requires a short steep hike if you want to get closer to the falls.

7. See Koh Samui’s most mysterious rocks
At Lamai Beach, you can find two distinctive rock formations. Discovered by locals many years ago, these rocks were described as Grandpa (Hin Ta) and Grandma (Hin Yai).

Koh Phangan and Koh Tao are the sister islands of Koh Samui, and you can easily visit them on a boat tour. While Koh Tao is a great place for diving and snorkeling, Koh Phangan is home to pristine beaches and the famous Full Moon Party.

5. Eat and Shop at Bophut Fisherman's Village
Located at the north coast of Koh Samui, Bophut Fisherman’s Village is a beautiful walking street filled with cafés, boutique shops, and restaurants.
4. Watch a Muay Thai Boxing Match
Koh Samui offers Muay Thai boxing matches on almost every day of the week and the most popular place to watch them is the Samui International Muay Thai Stadium in Chaweng.
3. Explore the colorful temples
Some of the most beautiful temples include Wat Ratchathammaram in Lamai, Wat Plai Laem, and the Big Buddha Temple.
2. Go on a boat tour to Ang Thong Marine Park
A must-do day trip from Koh Samui is Ang Thong National Marine Park, an archipelago made of 42 small islands. It’s possible to do this by speedboat or larger boat tour.
