I came to Hua Hin, Thailand with Mark Wiens from Migrationology on a lobster journey of a lifetime! We drove from Bangkok down to Hua Hin in 3 hours, stopping for lunch at a seafood market and having some delicious rice and curry. After our delicious Thai street food lunch, we made our way to eat a huge lobster and tiger prawn seafood feast. Watching the seafood cooking over the bbq and watching them prepare the giant jumbo Thai lobsters was a once in. a lifetime opportunity. This is some of the best street food around the world - right here in Hua Hin, Thailand!

Monster 1.1 kg Lobster in Hua Hin, Thailand at Lung Ja Seafood Restaurant (ร้านลุงจ่า)

The last time we visited Hua Hin, Thailand, I had no intention to eat a lobster. But then it happened, and I couldn't resist. Click here for the details -

There's a street in Hua Hin, that at night, turns into a night market. There are all sorts of the usual vendors that sell t-shirts and jewelry, and little snacks to nibble on.... and then, there are the epic seafood vendor that try to lure you in for a lobster, monstrous prawns, fish, and everything else delicious from the sea. So with no intention of actually eating a lobster on this fine evening in Hua Hin, we got sucked and I felt the irresistible pull to order a monstrous 1.1 kg lobster - but I wasn't complaining! Has that ever happened to you?

Anyway, we sat down at Lung Ja Seafood Restaurant (ร้านลุงจ่า), a restaurant I would recommend as one of the top restaurants in Hua Hin. It's located right along the street within the Hua Hin night market, and they have a nice selection of seafood and some very nice staff as well. We chose our lobster with precision and then it to the table to wait as they prepared it. The lobster is first blanched before being tossed on the grill. The chef had informed us that that is the way to cook it for maximum flavor and to ensure the lobster isn't rubbery, but rather soft and tender and juicy.

Along with out monster 1.1 kg lobster in Hua Hin, Lung Ja Seafood Restaurant (ร้านลุงจ่า) also served an award winning plate of fried morning glory vegetable and a wonderful plate of khao pad boo (crab fried rice). Both of the sides dishes were excellent, but they were dwarfed by my anticipation of the lobster.

The lobster arrived on a massive plate, covered in a number of different sauces. Order again, and I would have gotten it with the sauces on the side, to be able to really taste the unique flavor the the lobster, but that being said, the sauces were pretty good and didn't overpower the meaty flesh.

Here's the link so you can eat here too:

Hua Hin Night Market + Giant Rainbow Lobsters & Local Seafood in Thailand

Strolling through the Hua Hin Night Market was one of my favourite ways to end the night.

All the market staples can be found here - from local handicrafts and souvenirs to clothing, gadgets and electronics.
I can't resist buying a few pairs of sunglasses every time I go.

The main attraction is the amazing variety of street food, especially the seafood. Here you can dine on giant lobsters, huge prawns, shellfish, crab and a great selection of local fish. You pick what you want, and they'll cook everything up right on the street.

Tips:

I found prices at the Hua Hin night market were generally higher than other markets in Thailand, but most things are still really good value.

The main walking street can get quite busy. So, if you find yourself needing a bit of space, there are some other sections that branch off the main path. They are less busy and some of the shops are more unique.

If you're not eating, plan for 1 - 2 hours to really take the place in.

Any questions about the Hua Hin Night Market, leave a comment and I'll get back to you!

The MOST INSANE Street Food in Thailand!

Most unbelievable Thai street food in Bangkok!

Talad Rot Fai (ตลาดนัดรถไฟ), also known as the Train night market in Bangkok, or Talad Rot Fai in Thai, is one of the most popular night markets in Bangkok - this branch located at Ratchada. Here’s a map link:

By the way, this is Part 2 of this Night Market Thai street food tour. You can watch the gigantic tom yum challenge here:

The market is known for its unique Thai street food, some of the snacks and dishes which are invented there and you won’t find anywhere else in Bangkok.

Laeng Saeb (เล้งแซ่บ) at Diaw Maekhlong Restaurant (ร้านเตี๋ยวแม่กลอง) - Laeng saeb, a dish of pork bones and ridiculous amounts of green chilies is one of the most popular Thai street food inventions at Talad Rot Fai, and this is mainly what I came to eat. The restaurant is located at the back of the market, and they have a few different sizes you can choose from.

XXL Laeng Saeb (เล้งแซ่บ) - Price - 599 THB ($18.96) - We went straight for the XXL size, a massive platter of pork bones, soup, insane amounts of green chilies and the soup broth. Of all the Thai street food I’ve eaten, this is one of the most unbelievable and insanely giant street foods of Thailand I’ve ever seen or eaten. Although it’s way more than I ever care to eat again in one sitting, it’s actually a really good dish.

Crispy butter (เนยกรอบ) - 35 THB ($1.11)
Stir fried ice cream (ไอติมผัด) - 69 THB ($2.18)
Coconut shake (น้ำมะพร้าวปั่น) - 35 THB ($1.11)

And that completed this Thai street food night market tour of Talad Rot Fai. It’s well worth a visit, and you can of course, order smaller sizes of laeng saeb when you’re in Bangkok. Enjoy!

Street Food Thailand: Food Tour of Hua Hin to find the Best Khao Kha Moo (ข้าวขาหมู)

This is one of my favourite Thai Food dishes to eat for lunch. This delicious pork is so fragrant. Your can smell this pork from outside the Thai Restaurant. You will also see this sold on the street as Street Food in some areas.

Thank you to Kha Moo Drok Soong in Soi 51 Hua Hin for allowing us to film

We are going to continue to bring you more vlogs on Thai Food so please like and subscribe to our channel. Thanks in advance

One of my favourite lunchtime meals is Khao Kha Moo (ข้าวขาหมู) • a fragrant stewed pork leg. The pork is simmered in a broth reminiscent of a Chinese master stock. There is cinnamon, star anise, 5 spice and many other spices.

Eggs are hard boiled in the same broth, giving them a brown appearance and a thoroughly creamy yolk. The dish is served with some pickled mustard greens or steamed Kha Naa (คะน้า) • Chinese Kale.

You can always smell a vendor selling kha moo long before you ever see them, as the fragrance is so aromatic and heady.

If this is a dish you've not yet tried; make it your next stop for lunch in Thailand.
