????GET TO KNOW US BETTER?

We are Patricia and Ed. We have been living on a 46 feet Catamaran and exploring the world on the water! We have always loved to travel and explore new places around the world.

Our first extended trip was a road trip in the US were we got to see over 20 states and ride 30.000 kilometers on our ECO Friendly Van. It was simply awesome and raised our awareness to the fact that we did not have to be tight down to a land home to continue to work and travel. Now, we’re on a sailing exploration journey attempting to circumnavigate the world aboard JOY. Patricia did not have any previous sailing experience, but was willing to learn on the fly.

Now neither of us are too technical and know how to fix things too much, super rich or retired, but we always had big dreams. What motivates us is the possibility to explore and learn along the way, share our experiences here on YouTube, be helped and help others along this Journey.

We want to continue to uncover the meaning of Happiness, Joy and Kindness along the way and hopefully bring something to you that will also make you think of alternative possibilities in life. We hope you enjoy been part of this journey along side us !

Meeting Tim Burke in Tanzania - EP. 71

So that's how I met legendary photographer Tim Burke! We've been Insta buddies for years and finally our ways have crossed in Tanzania. This episode is from our ride through the Kilimanjaro region, unfortunately the mountain itself was covered in clouds, but the zebras and giraffes weren't shy at all! Tim took some epic pictures, as he does, and I'll be always grateful for that. These are the best pics of me anyone has ever taken. Hats off Tim! Also, big thanks to Simon and Godfrey for their hospitality and kindness.

In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.

Throughout my journey, I was raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. All the money raised will go directly to helping Franek and his family so he can lead a normal life as best as possible, so please donate generously:

Reaching the ANDES in Colombia (4000m) - EP 69

Lost Mountain trails, the nicer people of Colombia, the sacred snow of El Cocuy and endless valleys and mountain pass: this week we drive all the way up to 4000 meters.

Last week we completed our loop to the north of the country in the desertic costal region of La Guajira. This week we leave the heat of the coast and seek fresher climate in the mountains. Gradually we climb through the windy trails of Colombia in search for new landscapes and new culture. We find amazing people in remote corners of the mountains all the way to the door of the Andes.

That is it: we know we are finally in South America now. There is a new vibe to it we can feel it.

Next week we continue to travel in Colombia, to be sure you do not miss what is coming up next: subscribe to the channel!

Until next week: take care!

Driving the VOLCANO avenue in Ecuador (up to 5000m) - EP 73

An avenue of volcanoes, wild horses, windy craters and wine at 15,000 feet, that second week in Ecuador is probably one of our favourite and we camp, park and sleep at our highest elevations so far.

Last week was our first in the country and we loved Ecuador at first sight. This second week we continue through the country with our friends of @gdayjambo. Everyday was a new discovery on this portion of the journey: Cotopaxi, Quilotoa, Chimborazo. Just beautiful places in remote nature. We see wild horses, lamas and vicunas for the first time. We climb to 4000, 4600, 4800 and 5000m for the first time. We cannot start the car because of elevation for the first time.

Next week we will complete our journey through Ecuador with a few more little adventures bringing us to different climates and landscapes.

To be sure you do not miss what is coming up next subscribe to the channel and continue the world tour with us.

Shipping to South America for the next Adventure (EP 66)

The road ends, the Darien Gap, shipping a vehicle on container from Panama to Colombia and much more!

Last week we travelled through Panama and arrived in Panama City. In this episode we run around the city to prepare for the shipment of our Land Rover Defender from Panama to Colombia. We are stressed and excited at the same time. So much to think about and it is also our first container shipping of this trip.

Luckily we are supported by Alejandro from Overland Embassy who makes our work so much easier. It is a great experience and we learnt immensely through the process.

If the car is being shipped to avoid the Darien we also reveal to you how we are going to pass the Darien! It promises nice adventures!

5 days travelling through Panama (the road ends) (EP 65)

Rainy season, beautiful hikes, old friends and the Panama Canal.

Last week we concluded a month on travel in Costa Rica. And just as we arrived at the border with Panama, the rainy season arrived with us. We do not have much time in Panama but we were dedicated to make the most of it. Unfortunately the heavy rains decided otherwise. Change on plans are not always a bad things, and it is life right? So we went with the flow and spent more time meeting people and eating local food than hiking. Eventually the rain stopped and we could enjoy our last days travelling in the country under the sun. We even got to meet old travel friends and discover the Panama Canal the best way possible.

We were due to arrive to Panama City on a set date for an important appointment. We explain you why in this video. A lot is about to change in the following weeks!

If you want to support us, watch and rewatch some of our previous episodes, from France to Panama we travelled through 20 country in the past year. And of course subscribe to the channel to be sure you do not miss the rest of this world tour!

Until next week, take care!

Spotting Land After 25 DAYS AT SEA!! (MJ Sailing - Ep 80)

Our Trans-Atlantic voyage is approaching the end!

We pick up this video on Day 18, after we get the news that our friends on s/v Calico Skies are arriving in Horta, while we still have 700 miles left and can expect winds on the nose for the next 72 hours.

After plugging through those, we go back to our sunny and calm days and while spending a little time outside get the opportunity to see some sea life in the water. Huge groups of sea salp are floating next to our boat, and we even put the GoPro in the water to get a better look.

While we're stuck in what we hope is the last of our high pressure systems, we throw up our drifter to see how it works in place of a spinnaker. At over 40 years old we weren't sure what to expect with this sail, but it did a great job of giving us a little extra oomph!

Then...there's landfall! The day we had been waiting to see for such a long time! Even though we had a fantastic crossing and loved our time at sea, we were more than ready to dock in Horta and begin enjoying the wonderful Azores again.

Much love from the Atlantic Ocean!

Good to have a NAVY SEAL around - Bay Islands, Honduras - Ep 32

In this episode we explore the islands of Roatan and Utila, which are 2 out of 3 of the islands which make up the Bay Islands. We pick up my friend, and investor Ben, the Navy SEAL, who takes Shara for a dive in the beautiful clear waters or West end, Roatan. We then have to sail our last and final leg to Livingston, Guatemala, where we can clear in and make our way up the incredible Rio Dulce.

Sailing Decisions that Risk EVERYTHING | Sailing to Northeast Sapodilla Caye Belize | S03E15

Before leaving Placencia and sailing to Northeast Sapodilla Caye Belize we get busy checking out of Belize and get the boat ready for a short day sail. When the planned departure date arrives a large thunderstorm forms over our proposed path and we are forced to make the decision whether we want to take the risk or be conservative. Once underway we decide to motor sail in the calm squally weather and end up having a beautiful trip and a gorgeous afternoon to explore the island.

Technical stopover in Guatemala (EP71)

Hi everyone and welcome to our channel.
In this episode we are taking you to Guatemala in Rio Dulce where we are lifting the boat for maintenance. We are trying to show you some of modifications we are doing into the boat. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay because we had to go back to France for my sister wedding.
But our Aupair Diana stayed and was in charge to manage all and to look after the dog.
Enjoy this video and see you in two weeks for the next episode.

Like Abraham Lincoln said “ In the end, it’s not the years in your life count, it’s the life in your years” ….. Enjoy !!!

San Andres - Providencia (EP71)

Hi everyone and welcome to our channel.
In this episode we are still showing you some about San Andres and we also are taking you to Providence, the last Colombian island in this area. Providence is smaller than San Andres and wilder. We felt in love with this amazing island. People are so kindly and there are so many beautiful places. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay too much time because we had to go to Guatemala for maintenance.
Hope you will like this small paradise.
See you in two weeks for the next Episode.
