Taronga Zoo Sydney is Australia’s largest zoo, located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in the suburb of Mosman, on the shores of Sydney Harbour.
It was officially opened on 7 October 1916. Taronga Zoo Sydney is managed by the Zoological Parks Board of New South Wales, under the trading name Taronga Conservation Society, along with its sister zoo, the Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo.
Divided into eight zoogeographic regions, the 28-hectare (69-acre) Taronga Zoo Sydney is home to over 4,000 animals of 350 species. It has a zoo shop, a cafe, and information centre.

Taronga Zoo Sydney Australia Winter Day Trip 2017
On a beautiful Winter's day we decided to head over the harbor from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo to see how it had changed since our memories of visiting as primary school kids. It was as awesome as remembered.
The animals where beautiful and the scenery amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone with a free day in this frosty weather.

We went there from Circular Quay using Ferry's, a very nice experience to see a beautiful Landmark from the Sea.

Our last stop on our Australia quest was to Sydney. Although, after spending quite a bit of time in big cities we decided to escape to the suburbs of Sydney, we couldn't pass up the chance to visit Taronga Zoo! As with the theme of Australia, it was a rainy time which meant that we didn't get to see many animals. Nevertheless, we had a pretty fun day, so come along as we explore Taronga Zoo in Sydney Australia!

A Day at Taronga Zoo Sydney!!
A Day at Taronga Zoo Sydney!! I was invited out by my friends at Taronga to explore one of the most modern and evolving zoos here in Australia.
Taronga houses some of the most incredible Australian and exotic wildlife and has just opened their brand new African Savannah Precinct which I was eager to check out. I also joined the teams behind the scenes to see first hand some of the incredible work Taronga is doing in the fields of conservation and education.
Definitely a place to tick of the list if you're in Sydney! Thanks for having me Taronga!

Taronga Zoo visit, Sydney, Australia
These are some of the highlights from my visit to Taronga Zoo. I'll have to give it to Sydney - Taronga Zoo is amazingly well laid out, and it's enclosures are fantastic. It's also nice to see a very strong emphasis on conservation.
If you get the chance to go, I suggest going earlier in the day than I did, as many of the shows and talks the keepers give happen between 10 and 11AM. Even then, you'll spend the better part of day here.
