Ferry: My favourite way to see the zoo because the sights of the Sydney Harbour from the water is absolutely amazing. Taronga Zoo Sydney is 12 minutes from Circular Quay by ferry.
Adult fares between $6.12 - $7.65 depending on when you travel and whether you use an Opal card. (Note: All transport fares capped at $2.80 on Sunday, so consider going then to save some money on transport!)
Driving: Parking is available at Taronga Zoo Sydney, entry from Bradleys Head Road. The all-day parking rate is $19

Enjoy a 12 minute Ferry ride to Taronga Zoo and snap a few photos of Sydney Harbour on the way. (You get up close & personal with the Harbour Bridge & Sydney Opera House!)
12PM – 5 PM – Maximise your time at the zoo!

Taronga Zoo is a outdoor wildlife park with animals from Africa, Asia, Rainforest and native Australia species.

Taronga Zoo Sydney
What makes Taronga something special is its location. It is situated on elevated land along the waterfront, in one of the most beautiful vantage points on Sydney Harbour overlooking Sydney Cove, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Taronga Zoo is approximately 12 minutes by ferry from Circular Quay and the CBD. (Ferries depart Circular Quay, every quarter past and quarter to the hour).
As you zigzag your way along the paths among the animal enclosures, you are able to enjoy magnificent harbour views. The Taronga Zoo has its own jetty and you are able step off the boat and walk directly into the zoo. It is always best to start your tour of the Zoo from the top entrance. That way you'll be walking downhill facing the harbour. You'll then be continually surprised as you turn a corner and catch a different vista of the horizon. Then, when you reach the bottom you can catch the Zoo Sky Safari chair lift to take you to the top again and begin your downhill trek along a different path. Video Credit: Taronga Zoo

Taronga Zoo is just 12 minutes by ferry from Circular Quay and offers amazing wildlife experiences with stunning harbor views. Overlooking magnificent Sydney Harbour. Nestled on the shores of the world's most beautiful harbor. Taronga Zoo is surrounded by lush bushland of Bradley's Head National Park popular for early morning walks. Ferries depart from Circular Quay every 30 minutes. Refer to Sydney Ferries website for a current timetable. You could get Sydney ferries, Captain Cook, Eco Hopper or Fantasea. By bus from the city: The M30 via Military Road and Bradleys Head Road to Taronga Zoo can be caught from Wynyard - Stand T (Clarence St). If you want to drive: Parking is available at the Zoo. Entry to the car park is from Bradleys Head Road. The car park day rate is $18. You can also find parking in streets nearby the zoo.
The Zoo has many popular trails to explore including the Australian Walkabout, Kids' Trail, Reptile World, African Savannah, Rainforest Trail, Seal Walk, Seals for the Wild, and the iconic must-see Free Flight Birds presentations. Zoo entry includes keeper talks and presentations.
The many exhibits in Taronga Zoo can be reached by footpaths, ramps, lifts and escalators. 90% of Taronga Zoo is fully accessible. Strollers can be hired from the Visitor Information Desk in the main entrance at a small fee and manual wheelchairs can be rented for free and should be booked in advance.

With a shuttle bus to take you to the top of the main entrance of the zoo and starting your way down is easier as the zoo is very hilly.

Start exploring by walk from the bottom to the top of the hill and they have a shuttle bus to go down.
