Travel to Estonia - Tallinn - 4K - City walk in Old Town- 2023
On this 1 hour tour you are going to see towers, city walls and historical buildings of Tallinn Old Town, have panoramic view over old buildings from higher places. Despite the silent video you'll have plenty of possibilities for reading about some of the towers along the road or other historical building from 14th century right on those buildings.
We are starting walking in front of Monastery Gate. To the right of the gate you can see Nun's Tower and after entering the gate we turn to see Sauna Tower from inside city walls. Next to it across the open space lies one of the oldest secondary schools not only in Estonia but in whole Europe. Established in 1631 by Swedish king Gustav II Adolf as Reval Gymnasium it is now called Gustav Adolf Grammar School. Continue walking and you'll see Golden Leg Tower, Tower behind Nuns (just after the roof of pink house), Loewenschede Tower. Cannot see Lippe Tower as it is destroyed but we take passage beside Lippe Tower and turning to the right we'll see Rope Hill Tower. After some steps in park we are returning inside historical area through breakthrough of Suurtüki street, to the left of it from outside will see Plate Tower and inside city walls continue with Epping Tower and Tower behind Grusbeke. Camera catches a bit later not very tall Tower behind Wulfard. We are going out from Old Town through Great Coastal Gate and when return inside have a view on Fat Margaret Tower. Next steps will be only inside historical Old Town starting from Pikk street. Before nice view on buildings on Toompea hill we see Town Hall Square and turn back to the Pikk street. By entering Toompea upper area under Long Leg Gate Tower we continue walking up. After Short Leg Gate Tower take a look on Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and turn to have a panoramic view on the city from Danish King Garden, near parliament building and Kohtuotsa viewing platform. We do have a nice overview of the building of Parliament of Estonia. Continuing some narrow streets we are going to see Patkuli viewing platform and end this walk 500 meters from Patkuli viewing platform where we started from

Tallinn Old Town is good to walk through in every time of the year. Walking starts near Gustav Adolf grammar School (established 1631), one of the oldest grammar schools in Europe and continues with Monastery Gate, a gate in medieval city wall. Having Toompea Hill to the right, we go along the Nunne street and turn to the Lai street. Near Baker street 1, Estonian Ministry of the Interior we continue to the Pikk street and and up outside of the Old Town near Fat Margaret tower.

Beautiful Riga welcomes you in 4K Ultra HD! join our city walking tour of the city and see the stunning cityscapes of the Latvian capital captured by the Panasonic GH6 camera. Riga was the first stop on our filmmaker Agnius Narkevičius` trip to France to shoot virtual city tours. He traveled from Vilnius to Riga by bus and could not find his documents on the way. A stalemate for someone who has to go to another country, isn't it? Panic, understanding that he needed to return to Vilnius, applied to the embassies, and urgently restore the passport filled all 4 hours of the trip to Riga. But in the end, already in the capital, the documents were found in a secret pocket of his backpack. Everything ended well, and our filmmaker went to explore the delightful Baltic city. Au bord de la mer Baltique, Tallinn est la capitale et le centre culturel de l'Estonie. Elle a conservé sa vieille ville pavée et entourée de remparts, où se trouvent cafés et magasins, mais aussi Kiek in de Kök, une tour d'artillerie datant du XVe siècle. Son hôtel de ville gothique a été construit au XIIIe siècle. Avec sa tour de 64 m de haut, il occupe la place principale historique de Tallinn. Remontant au XIIIe siècle, l'église Saint-Nicolas est aujourd'hui un musée consacré à l'art ecclésiastique.

Autumn is especially golden near Toompea Hill in Tallinn Old Town when we approach the Upper Old Town from Falgi road and Lindamäe Park lies on the right of it. Tall Hermann greets viewers through the yellow leaves when we step up on the hills in park. After turning to Toompea street and seeing Alexander Nevski Cathedral, we step into Danish King Garden and get back to upper grounds through Lühike jalg gate tower.
Walking takes you to viewing platform near Pilsticker Tower and Stairs, Patkuli viewing platform and Kohtuotsa platform.

Cette ville, d'une superficie de 113 hectares, a conservé en son sein des vestiges médiévaux et une grande partie de ses remparts datant du XIIIème siècle. Il s'agit d'ailleurs, de l'une des cités médiévales les mieux conservées d'Europe.
En 1997, tout le centre historique de Tallinn a été inscrit sur les listes du Patrimoine Mondial de l'UNESCO.

La capitale Estonienne, Tallinn, a une longue histoire. Dès le XIè siècle, une forteresse de bois occupa la colline de Toompea : un centre de commerce était né, qui n'a jamais cessé d'être actif. A quelques encablures de la grève, la ville haute, à statut défensif, rayonna durant tout le Moyen Age.
Sur la route des comptoirs russes, Tallinn, maillon vital du commerce hanséatique, prospéra.
Les vestiges de cette époque sont soigneusement mis en valeur, et le touriste du XXIè siècle plonge avec délices dans une atmosphère puissamment médiévale. Les remparts de pierre épousent fièrement le relief, régulièrement ponctués de fines tourelles que coiffent des tuiles roses. Le visiteur retrouve les images colorées de ses livres d'histoire. A l'ouest les remparts sont extérieurement bordés d'un parc paysager où l'on donne des concerts en été.
La principale entrée est la porte de Viru qui débouche sur une artère commerçante de la vieille ville.

Informations générales sur le pays
L'Estonie est un petit État sur les rives de la mer Baltique. Voisins avec la Russie et la Lettonie. Officiellement appelé la République d'Estonie. 1 330 068 personnes vivent dans le pays (au 1er janvier 2021).
La majorité de la population parle l'estonien, qui est la langue officielle. Il y a beaucoup de résidents russophones en Estonie, en particulier à la frontière avec la Russie.
Capitale
La capitale de l'Estonie est Tallinn (dans les médias estoniens en russe - Tallinn, Est. Tallinn). La plus grande ville de l'État, ainsi qu'un grand port maritime. Le centre de la vie culturelle, scientifique, économique et politique du pays avec une population de près de 440 000 personnes.
Les premières mentions écrites de la ville se trouvent en 1154. Un voyageur arabe a décrit la ville sur la colline de Toompea, l'appelant Kolyvan. Les conquérants danois en 1219 ont démoli l'ancienne fortification et en ont construit une nouvelle, appelée plus tard Revel. En 1919, Revel est rebaptisé Tallinn.
La principale attraction de la capitale est la vieille ville, inscrite sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO.
Climat
Le climat de l'Estonie est maritime, l'éloignement de la côte devenant continental tempéré. L'hiver est neigeux. Il n'y a pas de fortes gelées, en janvier la température moyenne est de -4 0С.
Il fait très humide sur la côte, le temps est couvert et nuageux. L'été n'est pas chaud. La température moyenne en juillet est de + 170C.
La période la plus propice à la visite est de mai à septembre, lorsqu'il pleut moins et qu'une longue journée chauffe les réservoirs à une température de baignade agréable.
Nature estonienne (paysages, beaux endroits)
Le relief du pays est généralement bas, se transformant en bandes de basses collines et de hautes terres au nord et au sud-est.
Près de la moitié du territoire du pays est couvert de forêts, dominées par des forêts d'épicéas et d'épicéas à feuilles caduques. Au nord, il y a des champs de bosquets de genévriers.
Villes principales:
Tartu. Une ville riche en musées (20 institutions). Il est intéressant pour les monuments architecturaux et les grands événements sportifs, par exemple les rallyes cyclistes. Environ 90 000 personnes vivent.
Narva. Attiré par le voisinage inhabituel des forteresses ennemies médiévales - Narva et Ivangorod - si proches les unes des autres.
Parnu. Une station balnéaire avec des bains d'eau et de boue. Le touriste sera également intéressé par l'architecture ancienne, les festivals de musique et un yacht club.
Que voir
L'île de Kihnu. Environ 600 personnes vivent dans quatre villages de l'île. L'île se distingue par le fait que ses habitants ont conservé les coutumes et les traditions qui se sont formées au fil des siècles. Par conséquent, Kihnu est inclus dans la liste de l'UNESCO des chefs-d'œuvre du patrimoine culturel. Les femmes portent des costumes nationaux tout le temps et les habitants connaissent des chansons folkloriques. Ils sont engagés dans des travaux d'aiguille. Campings et chambres d'hôtes accueillent les touristes.
Château de Narva. Construit à Narva par les Danois au 13ème siècle. Depuis lors, il est passé entre les mains de différents propriétaires : l'Ordre de Livonie, l'Allemagne et la Suède. Pendant la Grande Guerre patriotique, il a été gravement détruit, puis reconstruit. Les tours et puissantes murailles ont été restaurées. Maintenant, il y a un musée dans la forteresse, des spectacles de différentes époques sont organisés, des master classes dans divers métiers sont organisées.
Monuments de l'Estonie
Vieille ville. Le plus vieux quartier de la capitale. Les bâtiments, une partie des rues du Moyen Âge et la majeure partie du mur de la forteresse avec des portes et des tours ont été conservés depuis l'Antiquité. Les touristes seront intéressés par la mairie, les églises et les cathédrales.
L'église St Olaf à Tallinn, vieille ville
Il a été construit au 13ème siècle. Puis il a été achevé en hauteur, de nouveaux locaux ont été ajoutés. Au XVIe siècle, il était considéré comme le plus haut bâtiment d'Europe (159 mètres). Mais après que la foudre ait provoqué un troisième incendie, les habitants ont décidé de raccourcir l'église. Vous pouvez monter sur la plate-forme d'observation de la tour d'observation et voir tout Tallinn à partir de là, mais pour cela, vous devez franchir 232 marches.
