The Taj Mahal (also known as 'Crown of the Palace') is known to be an ivory-white marble mausoleum located on the right bank of the Yamuna river in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was started being made in 1631 by the 5th Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan as a tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also has the tomb of Shah Jahan himself. The tomb is known to be a centrepiece of 42-acre complex, that includes a mosque as well as a guest house, and is placed in formal gardens which is bounded by crenellated walls on the three sides.
Mausoleum's construction was completed in the year 1643, but more work continued on other phases of the complete project for other 10 years. The Taj Mahal complex is known to have been completed in entirely in the year 1653 at an estimated cost at the time to be around ₹32 million, which in 2020 would be around ₹70 billion (i.e., US $1 billion). The construction project of Taj Mahal employed around 20,000 artisans under the board of architects who were led by Ustad Ahmad Lahori, who was the emperor’s court architect. Different types of symbolism have been employed in the Taj Mahal in order to reflect natural beauty as well as divinity.
The Taj Mahal was honoured as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1983 for being the jewel of Muslim art in India and also for being one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage. It is known to be the best example of Mughal architecture and a symbol of rich history of India. The Taj Mahal attracts over 6 million visitors a year and in the year 2007, it was declared a winner among the New 7 Wonders of the World which was a 2000–2007 initiative.
Inspiration to build Taj Mahal: The Taj Mahal was started being made by Shah Jahan in the year 1631, and was built in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died on 17 June that year, while she was giving birth to their 14th child, Gauhara Begum. Construction of Taj Mahal started in the year 1632, and the mausoleum was completed made in the year 1648, while the surrounding buildings and garden of Taj Mahal were finished after 5 years. The imperial court that documents Shah Jahan's grief after the death of his wife Mumtaz Mahal tells the love story held as the inspiration for the Taj Mahal.
Tomb: The tomb is known to be the central focus of the entire complex of the Taj Mahal. It is known to be a large, white marble structure that stands on a square plinth and consists of a symmetrical building which has an iwan (an arch-shaped doorway) that is topped by a large dome and finial. Just like most of the Mughal tombs, the basic elements to build Taj Mahal are Indo-Islamic in origin. The base structure is known to be a large multi-chambered cube which has chamfered corners that forms an unequal eight-sided structure which is approximately 55 metres on all four long sides. Every side of the iwan is framed with a huge pishtaq or vaulted archway which has two similarly shaped arched balconies that are stacked on each side. This motif of stacked pishtaqs is known to be replicated on the chamfered corner areas, that makes the design completely symmetrical on each side of the building. There are four minarets that frame the tomb, one at each of the corners of the plinth which faces the chamfered corners. The main chamber has the false sarcophagi of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan; the actual graves are known to be at a lower level.

The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan (reigned 1628–1658), to house the tomb of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
Construction of the mausoleum was essentially completed in 1643 but work continued on other phases of the project for another 10 years. The Taj Mahal was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 for being the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage. Described by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore as the tear-drop on the cheek of time, it is regarded by many as the best example of Mughal architecture and a symbol of India's rich history. The Taj Mahal attracts 7–8 million visitors a year.
Inside the Taj Mahal, the cenotaphs honoring Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan are enclosed in an eight-sided chamber ornamented with pietra dura (an inlay with semi-precious stones) and a marble lattice screen. But the gorgeous monuments are just for show: The real sarcophagi are in a quiet room below, at garden level.

AGRA FORT History/Tour (in Hindi) | आगरा किला का इतिहास | अकबर ने 8 साल में बनाया था ये भव्य किला!
This video is based on my Agra Fort tour(आगरा किला वीडियो) in which I have told Agra Fort history in hindi(आगरा किला का इतिहास). Located at a walking distance from Agra Fort railway station(आगरा किला रेलवे स्टेशन), and with a distance of 2.5 kms from Agra Fort to Taj Mahal, it is known to be one of the biggest mughal monument in India(आगरा का किला दिखाइए). A lot of people want to know about Agra Fort history in telugu and Agra Fort history in Malayalam, but as I dont know these languages so I have told agra ka kila history in hindi. Agra Fort ticket price is Rs.50, which can be bought at the counters of Agra ka lal kila. People coming by train can catch Agra Fort train till Agra Fort station(आगरा किला स्टेशन) and visit this Agra ka kila Akbar ka(आगरा का किला दिखाओ). Some people also refer it to as agra ka kila jodha akbar ka because Jodha Bai also stayed here with him.
Akbar started building this fort(agra ka kila kisne banwaya tha/आगरा किला किसने बनवाया था) in 1565 and completed it in 1573. There are a lot of palaces inside this beautiful fort(आगरा का किला कैसा है). Although Akbar made this fort(आगरा का किला किसने बनाया था) but it was renovated and new buildings were added till the next 95 years by Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb. There are a lot of mysteries associated with this fort(agra ka kila ka rahasya) and we have discussed about them and also the complete history(agra ka kila ka itihaas/agra ka kila mahiti) and architecture of Agra Fort(agra ka kila dikhaiye). A lot of people want to see Agra Fort drone view but its prohibited to fly a drone over it. If you wish to make Agra fort drawing(आगरा किला फोटो), you can get many of them online and if you visit this place(आगरा किला आगरा) for taking pictures, you will get plenty of places to put your status on Instagram and Facebook.
The Agra Fort is known to be a historical fort in Agra,UP and also called Agra's Red Fort. Mughal emperor Humayun was known to be crowned at this historic fort. It was later renovated by the great Mughal emperor Akbar from the year 1565 till 1573. It used to serve as the main residence of the Mughal rulers until the year 1638, when the mughal capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. It was also called Lal-Qila or Qila-i-Akbari. Before it was captured by British, the last Indian rulers who could occupy it were the Marathas. In the year 1983, the Agra fort was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its importance in the Mughal Era. It is located at about 2.5 km northwest of world famous monument, the Taj Mahal. The fort can be described more accurately as a walled city. It was known to be renovated later by Shah Jahan.
Like the remaining Agra, Agra Fort prior's history before Mahmud Ghaznavi's invasion is quite unclear. However, it is said that in 15th century, the Chauhan Rajputs occupied it. After that, Agra became the capital of Sikandar Lodi (AD 1487–1517) when he shifted his capital from Delhi to Agra and constructed a lot of buildings in the already existing fort at Agra. After the Panipat's first battle (AD 1526) Mughals captured Agra fort and ruled from this place. In the year 1530, Humayun was crowned in it. The Agra fort was got its present appearance during the reign of Akbar (AD 1556–1605). Later this fort was known to be under the rule of Jats of Bharatpur for almost 13 years.
This 94-acre fort has a semicircular plan, its chord actually lies parallel to Yamuna river and its walls are known to be seventy feet high. Double ramparts are known to have massive circular bastions at intervals, with battlements, embrasures, machicolations as well as string courses. There are 4 gates that were provided on its four sides, one is known as Khizri gate that opens on to the river. Two of the fort's most important gates are: the Delhi Gate and the Lahore Gate. The Lahore Gate is also known as the Amar Singh Gate, named after Shah Jahan's commander Amar Singh Rathore.
Delhi Gate that faces the city on the fort's western, is considered to be the grandest of the four gates and is known to be a masterpiece of Akbar's time. It was built in the year 1568 for enhancing security as well as it was the king's formal gate, and this is why it includes features related to both. It is embellished and made with intricate inlay work in white marble. In those times, a wooden drawbridge was used to cross the moat and for reaching the gate from the mainland; inside, an inner gateway known as Hathi Pol (Elephant Gate) – which was guarded by two life-sized stone elephants with their riders that added another layer of security.

This video is based on my recent visit to Agra Fort which I completed with the help of a tourist guide to know the Agra Fort History in Hindi. So, let me tell you briefly about the Agra Fort history and facts associated with this guided tour.
Although, a lot of people search about Agra Fort History in Bengali, Marathi, English and Telugu but I think Hindi is the most used language in India, so I have come up with this Agra Fort Guide in Hindi. Agra Fort Railway Station is just about 100 m away from the Agra Fort, so if you have your train till this railway station, you can reach Agra Fort in not more than 2-4 minutes.

Agra Fort Ticket Price/Entry Fee : Rs.50(Indian/Domestic Tourist), Rs.550(Foreign Tourist), Free(For Children above 15 yrs of Age)
Agra Fort is a popular historical fort in the city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Agra Fort was known to be the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638, after which the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. Before the Britishers captured this fort, the last Indian rulers who occupied it were the Marathas. In the year 1983, the Agra fort was got the tag of a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is located at about 2 km northwest of its more well known sister monument, the Taj Mahal. The fort can be more appropriately described as a walled city.
Agra Fort had been built and used majorly by the early mughal rulers including Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb. The Fort stands tall on an ancient site and was known as Badalgarh. It was known to be captured by Ghaznavi for some time but later in the 15th century A.D. the Chauhan Rajputs captured it. Soon after, Agra got the status of capital soon after Sikandar Lodi (A.D. 1487-1517) shifted his capital from Delhi and built a few buildings in the existing Fort of Agra. After the first battle of Panipat (A.D. 1526) Mughals occupied the fort and ruled from it. Then Humayun was crowned in the fort in A.D. 1530. The Fort actually got its present appearance during Akbar’s reign (A.D. 1556-1605).
Agra Fort Architecture: The 380,000 m2 (94-acre) fort has a semicircular plan, its chord actually lies parallel to the Yamuna river and its walls are known to be 70 ft high. Double ramparts have massive circular bastions at certain intervals, with battlements, embrasures, machicolations as well as string courses. 4 gates were provided on all the sides, one was the Khizri gate which opened on to the river. Two of the gates of the Fort are notable: the Delhi Gate and the Lahore Gate. The Lahore Gate is popularly known as the Amar Singh Gate, for Amar Singh Rathore.

FATEHPUR SIKRI History (in Hindi) | फतेहपुर सीकरी का इतिहास | Kila | Dargah | Buland Darwaza | Mazar
This Fatehpur Sikri Video is based on my recent visit to Fatehpur Sikri(फतेहपुर सीकरी) about 40 kms away from Agra(आगरा) City of Uttar Pradesh. Fatehpur Sikri ki Dargarh(फतेहपुर सीकरी की दरगाह) is known to be one of the most popular places in the Holy Complex of Fatehpur Sikri ka kila. Fatehpur Sikri History(फतेहपुर सीकरी का इतिहास) is not only about fatehpur sikri tourist places but also about Buland Darwaza(फतेहपुर सीकरी का बुलंद दरवाजा) and Mazar(फतेहपुर सीकरी की मजार) and कव्वाली(फतेहपुर सीकरी की कव्वाली) song played there. Anyways, fatehpur sikri ka buland darwaza is known to be world's largest gateway. Fatehpur Sikri kahan hai(फतेहपुर सीकरी कहां है ya कहां स्थित है) ye bohot log poochte hain, which means where is Fatehpur Sikri and I have already answered this question. Jodha Bai Mahal is also situated inside the premises.

History of Fatehpur Sikri: --
Fatehpur Sikri is known to be a town in the Agra District of Uttar Pradesh, India. The city was founded as Mughal Capital in 1571 by the mughal Emperor Akbar, who served his this role from 1571 to 1585, after which Akbar abandoned this place due to scarcity of water.
The name of the city is known to be derived from the village situated here named Sikri which actually occupied this spot before. An excavation from Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) from the year 1999 to 2000 also showed habitation as well as some temples and commercial centres here before Akbar actually built his capital here. The region was known to be settled by Sungas following their expansion. In the 12th century, it was controlled by Sikarwar Rajputs for a short period of time.
The khanqah of the popular sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chishti existed at this place earlier. Son of Akbar,Jahangir(also known as Salim), was born here at this village of Sikri to his favorite wife Mariam-uz-Zamani in the year1569 and in the same year Akbar began construction of a religious compound to give respect to the Sheikh who predicted the birth of Akbar's son. After the 2nd birthday of Jahangir, Akbar began the construction of this walled city as well as the imperial palace here. The city was later named as Fatehpur Sikri, which means City of Victory, after Akbar's Gujarat win in 1573.
But before Akbar chose this site for his capital city, his predecessors Babur and Humayun actually redesigned the urban layout of Fatehpur Sikri's. Attilio Petruccioli, who is a well known scholar of Islamic architecture as well as Professor of Landscape Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy, says that Babur and his successors wanted to get away from the noise and confusion of Agra build an uninterrupted sequence of gardens on the free left bank of the Yamuna, linked both by boat and by land.
Fatehpur Sikri was awarded the well known status of UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1986.
As per historian Syed Ali Nadeem Rezavi, the region here flourished under the rule of Sunga and then under the Sikarwar Rajputs, who actually built a fortress when they controlled this area for a short span in the 12th century. The area later came under Delhi Sultanate's and a lot of mosques were built at the place which increased during the Khalji dynasty's period.
