TURKISH STREET FOOD : You've NEVER Seen this Before!!! KEBAB HEAVEN + Street Food in Izmir Turkey

Kemeraltı Bazaar Street Food tour in IZMIR, TURKEY

Welcome to the first episode of our Turkey street food series. historical KEMERALTI BAZAAR (Tarihi Kemeraltı Çarşısı)!

We start our street food tour at a famous “börekçisi” for some savoury börek pastries. We ordered our börek with pastirma and cheese. It was very delicious and fun to watch the chef prepare the dish! (17 TRY / 2.92 USD)

Continuing through the ancient 7th century market, we find an extremely unique shop serving up an Izmir speciality Turšu Suyu, which is pickle juice! Made up of simple ingredients to be sour, spicy and extremely refreshing. Pickle juice is best enjoyed in Izmir in the summer heat! (3 TRY / 0.52 USD)

For lunch, we try manisa kebap, hailing from the city of Manisa which is right outside of Izmir. The dish consists of kebab chunks, served on top of flatbread with a side of tomato sauce and yogurt. It is also covered in rich butter. So mouthwatering and very CHEAP! (32 TRY / 5.50 USD with unlimited tea)

Just outside of the market is the Izmir Clock Tower. It is considered the symbol of Izmir and shouldn’t be missed while you’re in the city. It is a great place to take in the views of the sea.

We were craving something sweet and went back into the market for shambli, a semolina cake soaked in syrup, mixed with walnuts, filled with cream, and some are covered in crushed pistachio. This will give you a sugar HIGH! (regular 5 TRY / 0.86 USD + pistachio 6 TRY / 1.03 USD)

To wash it all down, Turkish coffee is like no other coffee in the world and many shops have their own unique way of making it. Turkish coffee is always unfiltered so expect it to be strong and full of silt. (7 TRY / 1.20 USD)

We made a quick stop for “macun” which is an Ottoman candy. It is made in the most traditional way and these vendors do not have 1 location. (4 TRY / 0.69 USD)

For our final stop of the day, we had to eat some seafood because Izmir is quite famous for it’s fresh fish! We chose a midye dolma (translation: STUFFED MUSSELS) restaurant. These mussels are stuffed with spiced rice and locals squeeze lemon directly onto each and every mussel. These were the FRESHEST mussels we’ve tried in all of Turkey! (14 TRY / 2.41 USD for half kilo)

To start off our God level Turkish street food tour, we tried the famous Izmir Bombasi, an insanely chocolatey treat that is beyond rich! We were surprised by the variety of god level bombas to try, just unbelievable.

We continued our God level street food tour in Izmir by trying a delicacy here, söğüş. This heavenly dish is very unique, söğüş is made from the meat of a sheep’s head, but as a cold cut! Not just the meat, but the tongue and brain as well, this dish is just insane and we couldn’t believe how heavenly it tasted.

Izmir köfte are on another köfte level, god level, made with an extra helping of cumin and chili pepper. We stopped into a very old shop in the Kemeralti Bazaar for this local and heavenly specialty.

The food we’ve had in Turkey so far is just heavenly, and Izmir is no different, having some amazingly God level street food around every corner.

To finish off our God level street food tour in Izmir, Turkey, we had the very traditional and famous Izmir kumru sandwich. This sandwich is synonymous with Izmir and is one of the insane street foods that you must try when in Izmir, just heavenly.

Street food in Turkey - In this video, I will take you on a street food tour of Afyon in search of Turkish food you've never heard of.

We started our street food tour in Afyon, Turkey, by having traditional local soups for breakfast, Afyon Paça, and tripe soup. The breakfast of the champions in Turkey.

After that, we went to one of the oldest kebab restaurants in Turkey to try the most insanely delicious Turkish kebab of my life.

To continue our street food adventure, we decided to try some of the local traditional desserts you've never heard of, ekmek kadaif with cherry and an explosive pumpkin dessert with lots of toppings that will blow you away after the first bite.

Street Food in Turkey | İZMİR KEMERALTI BAZAAR + BEST KAZANDIBI & ŞAMBALI | Turkish Street Food Tour

Street food in Turkey. Today we went to the Izmir Kemeralti Bazaar to try some awesome street food, including the best kazandibi and şambali, on an epic Turkish street food tour.

???? SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE FOOD ADVENTURES:
???? WATCH Street Food in Turkey, Famous Izmir Boyoz:

The best place to try street food in Turkey is at the bazaars, and in Izmir, the Kemeralti Bazaar is where the action is. The street food here is the best! We started our day off pretty sweet, trying the famous şambali from one of the street food stalls. The şambali surprised us with how creamy and dense it was, a true street food treat in the bazaar and Izmir specialty.

To match our sweet start to the day, we stopped for a coffee at a local place that makes a very special version of Turkish coffee, it’s so special they even patented the way that they make it! The Izmir Kemeralti Bazaar is always full of the best street food surprises.

We couldn’t not experience the popular pickle juice from one of the best places in the Izmir Kemeralti Bazaar, so we got ourselves a cup that nearly blew our socks off!

To continue our street food tour in Turkey, we tried the manisa kebap, meaty, buttery, and with a dollop of yogurt, it was so amazing and full of flavour. Next stop in the Izmir Kemeralti Bazaar was to try the best Izmir kazandibi, an incredible dessert that is made by burning the bottom of the pan before serving.

To finish off our Turkish street food tour, we had the best drink in the bazaar, a black mulberry sherbet that was so juicy and flavourful!

The street food in Turkey continues to blow us away! We hope you enjoy this trip through the Izmir Kemeralti Bazaar trying the best kazandibi and şambali, on an epic Turkish street food tour.

ISTANBUL STREET FOOD will BLOW YOU AWAY!! Turkish Street Food HEAVEN - Adana Kebab + Pickle Juice!

Kemeraltı Bazaar in Izmir:

Iskender Kebab in Bursa :

Amazing street food can be found all around Istanbul! Join us as we continue our Street Food in Turkey tour! Today we are going to be trying some unique foods you’ve never heard of!

For breakfast, we are having a RARE type of turşu suyu, which is pickle juice. We ordered the “mixed” version - with cabbage, carrots, cucumbers and beets. And of course, the pickle juice is SPICY! (5 TRY / 0.86 USD)

Next, we’re visiting a weekly fresh market called Tarlabaşi Pazari which is only open on Sundays. In the summer, apricots are in season, and they are worth trying fresh at this traditional market!

In Istanbul, you can sample delicious cuisine that comes from all over Turkey. This time, we decided on Adana cuisine. Adana kebab is made from hand-minced lamb meat cooked over charcoal. That smokey flavour and juicy lamb is HEAVEN! (35 TRY / 6.02 USD)

If you’ve never tried traditional Turkish ice cream, you are missing out! We head to an old-school shop serving up a chewy textured (made from mastic) ice cream cone. So incredible on a hot Turkish summer day! (4.5 TRY / 0.77 USD)

Next up is a cruise on the iconic Bosphorus, because a trip to Istanbul is not complete without one. We opted for the economic TurYol cruise, a 90-minute tour north that passes palaces, mansions, bridges and plenty of gorgeous sights. For 20 TRY / 3.44 USD, that is totally worth it!!!

Since we were near the Bosphorus, we thought we would try the very FAMOUS Balik Ekmek, or grilled fish sandwich. In a tourist hot-spot, served from a real boat, the sights surrounding the restaurant are why it is so popular. The food however, was not that tasty and isn’t considered a good choice among the locals. We wanted to see what the hype was about. Oh well! (15 TRY / 2.58 USD)

Thank you for watching another episode from our Turkey Street Food series. If you have been enjoying, subscribe, leave us a like and a comment!

To start our HUGE street food tour of Istanbul, we went to Bereket Döner ( Hacı Kadın, Tavanlı Çeşme Sk. No:2, 34134 Fatih/İstanbul )to try one of the best Döner kebabs I ever tried. The owner also invited us into the kitchen to show us how to make a GOD LEVEL Döner kebab. Absolutely the best food experience I had so far in Turkey.

To continue our street food tour, we stopped for a freshly squeezed juice. I had orange and pomegranate, which Turkey is famous for.

We could not miss the famous Mısır Çarşısı ( Kazım Karabekir Paşa Mahallesi, Kantarcı Rüstem Sk. No:34, 34116 Sarıyer/İstanbul ), the spice bazaar, where they sell lots of food and things made in Turkey.

Right outside the bazaar, we stopped at ELMALAR CAFE ( Hobyar, Vakıf Hanı Sokak & Rahvancı Sokak , Eminönü No:10, 34112 Fatih/İstanbul ) to have Turkish coffee and stuff show us how to make it.

We went to try one of the most unusual food I ever tried here in Turkey, Çiğ köfte at Çiğköfteci Ali Usta. ( Hobyar, Muhzirbaşı Sk. No:6, 34112 Fatih/İstanbul )

To continue our HUGE street food tour of Istanbul, we went to eat a GOD LEVEL Cağ kebabı, horizontal Döner made of marinated lamb. One of best dishes you'll ever try in Turkey. The restaurant is Şehzade Cağ Kebap. ( Hoca Paşa, Hoca Paşa Sk. No:6 D:4, 34110 Fatih/İstanbul )

We stopped at Hacı Şerif Eminönü ( Rüstem Paşa, 34112, Yeni Cami Cd. No:19, 34116 Fatih/İstanbul )for a very unique dessert, ice cream with pistachio halva topped with tahini sauce. It was rich, thick and incredibly delicious.
Turkey has some of the best street food in the world.

To digest all the food we had, went for a walk around Istanbul and visited the HUGE and GOD LEVEL mosque Hagia Sophia. ( Sultan Ahmet, Ayasofya Meydanı No:1, 34122 Fatih/İstanbul )

To end our HUGE street food tour of Istanbul, we went to eat Balık ekmek matched with Turkish çay. ( Sarıdemir, Park İçi Yolu, 34134 Fatih/İstanbul )

This HUGE street food tour of Istanbul, Turkey, was absolutely GOD LEVEL.

Street Food in Izmir Turkey | HOMEMADE TURKISH MANTI + IZMIR ESNAF LOKANTASI | Turkish Street Food

Street food in Izmir Turkey. Today we went on a huge street food tour in Izmir, Turkey, trying homemade Turkish manti and visiting the popular Izmir Esnaf Lokantasi, this Turkish street food was next level!

???? SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE FOOD ADVENTURES:
???? WATCH Street Food in Turkey:

There’s no better way to start your day in Turkey, especially on a street food tour, than at a lokantasi. We headed to Izmir Esnaf Lokantasi Mahmut Usta, a very popular lokantasi in Izmir, to try some of their famous dishes. This Izmir Esnaf Lokantasi does some very unique dishes, like chickpeas with tripe, baked kokoreç, and dried chilies with yogurt. We couldn’t have chosen a better Izmir Esnaf Lokantasi to start our day full of Turkish street food.

We walked the streets of Izmir along to the promenade, where we stopped for a tea on a boat in the water, it was such a cool experience, Izmir is such a vibrant and beautiful city. The Turkish street food in Izmir, Turkey, is just unbelievable.

The number one Turkish street food stop in Izmir for Izmir gevrek is at Zeynel Ergin Gevrek Fırını. We headed there to try this famous street food breakfast that is special to Izmir. This place is known for being busy and it was packed! They were pumping out gevreks like there’s no tomorrow! We couldn’t believe the line of people on the street here in Izmir, waiting for their street food breakfast to start the day. The gevrek team were so friendly and so skilled, it really made our morning.

We passed a bakery selling fresh hot salep on the street that we just couldn’t pass up, it was so creamy and delicious! Nothing like Turkish street salep.

For our last stop on our street food tour in Izmir, Turkey, we went for some homemade Turkish manti. There’s nothing like homemade Turkish manti, tiny pockets of dough with juicy lamb inside, made with love due to their teeny tiny size! Covered in yogurt and spiced to perfection, these homemade Turkish manti need to be seen to be believed.

We hope you enjoy seeing all of the tasty street food in Izmir, Turkey, from the popular Izmir Esnaf Lokantasi to the homemade Turkish manti. We can’t wait to share more amazing Turkish street food with you!

UNSEEN Street Food in Turkey | KUYU TANDOOR LAMB LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN | Street Food Tour in Turkey

Unseen street food in Turkey. Today we tried some unbelievable kuyu tandoor lamb like you’ve never seen before, slow cooked to perfection, this is the ultimate unseen street food in Turkey.

???? SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE FOOD ADVENTURES:
???? WATCH Street Food in Izmir, Turkey:

Tucked away in the Göztepe area of Izmir is an unseen restaurant away from the main centre of the city. We started our street food tour in Turkey early in the morning for the full preparation of the kuyu tandoor lamb.

First stage of the preparation for the kuyu tandoor lamb street food was to build the fire in the tandoor well. The flames were like you’ve never seen! While the fire burned, we picked up the lamb from a local butcher up the street, it doesn’t get any fresher than this, talk about unseen street food.

Once the kuyu tandoor was at the perfect temperature, the lamb was hung inside and lowered into the tandoor. The cooking of this unseen street food, kuyu tandoor lamb, takes about three hours.

We were blown away by the smell throughout the restaurant as the lamb cooked in the kuyu tandoor, our mouths were watering! After the three hours, the kuyu tandoor lamb is brought up out of the tandoor like you’ve never seen. Such a special and unseen street food in Turkey!

The taste and texture of this kuyu tandoor lamb was out of this world, we’ve never tasted lamb so tender! Truly an unseen street food made in the most special way.

We hope you enjoy our food adventure today to watch the preparation of the kuyu tandoor lamb like you’ve never seen, an unbelievable unseen street food in Turkey that we are so happy to have tried. Stay tuned for some more street food tour videos!
