TROPICAL Puerto Rican STREET FOOD TOUR | Piñones, Puerto Rico

???? 25 Puerto Rican Dishes You Must Eat:
???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE SHIRTS & MERCH:

During my trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico in Partnership with the Intercontinental San Juan, I decided to head out to Piñones to try some tropical authentic Puerto Rican Street Food!

I arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico early in the morning and headed straight to the Intercontinental San Juan to check in and to show you my club level suite. My suite is huge!

From their I grabbed a quick 15 minute uber ride east to Piñones. This area has one road and their are tons of restaurants and kioskos (traditional huts) where they serve authentic Puerto Rican street food.

My first stop was at Donde Olga Bar & Restaurant to try a Bacalaito which is a salted cod pancake fritter and a Alcapurria which is fried green banana stuffed with crab or beef. Both of these Puerto Rican street foods are must tries when you visit Puerto Rico!

Next we walked over to El Barriles Restaurant to try some Mofongo with Seafood! Mofongo is fried plantain mash with seafood. This is the star of Puerto Rican street food dishes. It is so yummy mixed in with the seafood!

On our way to our next stop I stumbled on Ostiones Vivos Kiosko. This is a small hut serving local Puerto Rican ostras or oysters! They are small bite sized oysters but if you like oysters you will love them!

Our final stop is Sabores de Piñones where I tried two local specialities, Pionono is a stuffed fried plantain stuffed with beef and a Rellenos de Papa which is a fried mash potato stuffed with ground beef.

I think the Pionono was my favorite because it was so sweet but the Bacalaito and Mofogo were off the chain!

Big thanks to my friends at the Intercontinental San Juan:

Puerto Rican STREET FOOD at Kiosko Luquillo + El Yunque Rainforest | Luquillo, Puerto Rico

???? MARIEL:
???? WATCH: Wild Puerto Rican Food
???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE SHIRTS & MERCH:

On my third day in San Juan, Puerto Rico in partnership with the Intercontinental San Juan, I headed to explore the El Yunque Rainforest and to eat Puerto Rican street food at Kiosko Luquillo!

We started the day by driving 45 minutes east to visit the El Yunque Rainforest. We saw the Coca Waterfall, Yokahu Tower and the Damas Pool. Each one gives you a completely different experience that are well worth it. If you see a coconut vender, definitely stop and have some coconuts in El Yunque Rainforest!

Next we drove down to the town of Luquillo and visited the Kiosko Luquillo which is a strip of small restaurants next to Luquillo beach, one of the prettiest beaches in Puerto Rico.

We tried a bunch of Puerto Rican street food, like Alcapurrias, Coconut Candy, Blue Crab Empanada, Rellenos de Papa, Carrucho Ceviche and we finished the day off with a 32 oz mojito!

My personal favorite was the Carrucho Ceviche, it was super refreshing and way less filling compared to all the fried foods. I recommend you try all these Puerto Rican street foods and visit El Yunque rainforest when you visit Puerto Rico!

TOP 10 Foods You MUST Eat In Puerto Rico! | AND Exactly Where To Get Authentic Puerto Rican Food!

Traveling to another country can be a life-changing experience. If you do it right, you get the opportunity to not only see a country's monuments and attractions but also experience its culture and lifestyle. One extremely important aspect of a country's culture is its food, and this is no exception for Puerto Rico.

Our traditional criollo cuisine plays an integral role in every cultural activity and family gathering. Similar to the people of Puerto Rico, our traditional cuisine has a rich history resulting from the blend of our African, Taíno, and Spanish ancestor's traditions resulting in what legendary Spanish Chef Jose Andrés described as one of the most interesting cuisines in the world!

With so many delicious food options to choose from, it's difficult to know where to start. But, don't worry, in this video, I'll show you my picks for the top 10 traditional Puerto Rican foods and precisely where to get them!

In this video, we'll first stop at the community of Piñones where we'll get some authentic Puerto Rican fritters called alcapurrias, bacalaitos, and empanadillas. After taking a dip on the beach under the sun we get a refreshing piña colada at an oceanfront restaurant. Then we travel to Lote 23 in the heart of Santurce where we try the delicious mofongo with fried meat. Then we head over to Bebo's BBQ for a plate of pernil, yuca and amarillitos. We finish the video off by tasting some delicious Puerto Rican coffee and pairing it with the authentic Puerto Rican pastry called quesitos.

LUQUILLO BEACH & KIOSKS | Beach Day + trying Puerto Rican STREET FOOD!

Do you like pristine turquoise beaches with minimal waves? If so, then Balneario La Monserrate in Luquillo is the beach FOR YOU! How about greasy, traditional Puerto Rican food with a nice, fresh cerveza or Pina colada? Then the Luquillo Kiosks are the place FOR YOU!

I experienced BOTH of these places in today's vlog and WOW...Luquillo is an incredible town in the Northeast of Puerto Rico. If you come to Puerto Rico and are looking for island vibes then this Luquillo beach delivers with their gorgeous, glistening water and their laid back environment. Even more exciting, if you want to get your hands on some authentic Puerto Rican food that's heavy and hearty, I'd say Luquillo Kiosks are a MUST!! There's over 60 different booths you can either sit down and eat dinner or go up to the barside and grab an alcapurria or an empanada to go and continue to explore.
#LuquilloBeach #LuquilloKiosksTour #BalnearioLaMonserrate
Whatever you do I highly recommend watching the sunset on the beach behind the kiosks because it is a beautiful way to end an outstanding day.

As I'm sure you can tell Puerto Rico is FREAKING INSANELY AWESOME and has become one of my favorite places I've ever been!!! If you want to see MORE of Puerto Rico, follow me on IG ( ) make sure you're SUBSCRIBED for more vlogs from this trip coming soon, and even check out joining my PATREON and get exclusive access to Puerto Rico content from me!

LOVE YOU GUYS, THANKS FOR BEING HERE :)

Everything was so delicious but my favorite was forsure that pernil sandwich. I also tried some very strong beer at La Pernileria.

Puerto Rican GOURMET Food FEAST + Hotel Tour | San Juan, Puerto Rico

During my trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico in Partnership with the Intercontinental San Juan, I explored the property and had an incredible Puerto Rican gourmet food feast!

My Film Making Kit►

I start the day by giving you a quick tour of the beautiful Intercontinental San Juan which is located on Isla Verda beach about a five minute drive from the airport. They have 398 rooms, a pool, a spa and a 2 mile stretch of beach.

We then headed to dinner at Aleli, this restaurant is located at the bottom of the Intercontinental San Juan and they focus on gourmet Puerto Rican food.

We started off with some Bacalaito's which are salted cod fritters. Next we tried Amarillitos which are delicious sweet plantain bacon wraps! Than we had refreshing Avocado Salad and a delicious fried red snapper.

When you eat Puerto Rican food it almost always comes with Mofongo which is fried plantains mashed with garlic and oil, so mouthwatering! We also tried Arroz Mamposteao which is red beans with rice and a fried egg on top.

To end the night we tried a Budin, which is a Puerto Rican bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and berries on the side.

After trying all these delicious Puerto Rican dishes I have to say I loved the Arroz Mamposteao and the Bacalaitos!

ABOUT FOOD AND FOOTPRINTS:

We are Greg and Jumi, hailing from opposite ends of the globe. Greg is a native New Yorker who was born and raised in Queens NYC and Jumi grew up in the beautiful islands of the Visayas region of the Philippines.

How did we meet? One of us messaged the other on Instagram (before sliding in DM's was even possible through the app!) and we met just after Hurricane Sandy hit NYC in October 2012. Although we grew up in two very different worlds, we bonded over a love of experiences over material things, delicious food and exploration.

We have visited 15+ countries together since December 2014 exploring beaches, ancient temples, bustling streets and ruins. Along the way, we get adrenaline flowing whether paragliding, ziplining, or jetskiing.

To fuel up for our adventures (and everyday life), we eat lots of local food wherever we are. Street food, carts, trucks, hidden gems and family-run sit-downs are our mainstays. We don't cook, but prefer to spend our money on experiences and we treat food as one. Hey, we gotta eat regardless, right? May as well enjoy it and support good businesses while we're at it!

All of this is done while we work full-time at our day jobs. How do we do it? Follow along our journeys and you will learn more. Welcome to our lifestyle!
