TRAVEL VLOG: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!

Hey guys finally our first Brazil Vlog. We had  a lot issues with the internet in Brazil so wasn't possible to post right away.

Sorry for that, but now WE ARE BACK!

We are still learning how to do VLOGS so please be patient with us. If you have any tips on how to vlog better leave your comments below and we will read carefully. We will always try give the best of us to you.

If you travel to Brazil you NEED to do this hike in MORRO DOIS IRMÃOS.
If you google it you will know all about it. GO!

The beach that we prefer is BARRA DA TIJUCA. The breeze that flows through makes the sun easier to handle.
Kite surfers dream !

Rio is an amazing place but for safety reasons try to avoid using your cell phone, camera or anything that has value while  you walk on the street, especially in places like Copacabana, Leblon and Ipanema.

You NEED to eat FEIJOADA (pronounced feshwaahda) Typical Brazilian food and it's delicious! The oficial day for this is on SATURDAYS

USE SUNBLOCK!!! The sun and UV rays are stronger than most people are used to.

Amazing place as you can see in the video =)

Thank you for watching! We love you!

💖💖Hope you enjoy and don't forget to subscribe !!💖💖

Our visit Rio De Janeiro travel guide documentary, before the Olympics of 2016, covers some of the top attractions including a food guide (best restaurants and street food), top museums and Rio at night. We also cover off-the-beaten-path activities you won't find in a typical Rio De Janeiro tourism brochure or Rio De Janeiro, Brasil city tour.

25 Things to do in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil Travel Guide and Top Attractions Transcript:

First up, we started with the city’s most iconic sight: Christ Redeemer. We boarded the train as soon as the station opened and made our way to the top of Corcovado Mountain. Sometimes the statue can be shielded by fog, but we lucked out with beautiful blue skies and panoramic views of the city as far as the eye could see.

For a bit of colour, we headed over to the Selaron Steps, which is a tiled staircase created by Chilean artist, Jorge Selarón. Initially Selaron would scavenge construction sites looking for tiles, but in later years as his work gained notoriety, travellers began donating tiles.

Since we chose to stay in the neighbourhood of Ipanema, we ended up spending quite a bit of time at Ipanema Beach. We noticed that this beach was really popular for beach football, volleyball, and surfing. And of course, what makes this beach so iconic are its two mountains, known as Dois Irmãos. If you come here on a clear day, you can catch a killer sunset.

No visit to Rio de Janeiro would be complete without heading up Sugarloaf Mountain, so when the skies finally cleared that’s exactly what we did. We paid for our tickets and boarded the cable car for a somewhat unnerving ride up. If you’re scared of heights, this probably isn’t the attraction for you, however, if you manage to make it to the top you get some really cool panoramic views of Rio.

Copacabana Beach is the most famed beach in all of Rio de Janeiro and if you were to visit on a weekend during the summer months you’d find that the place is packed beyond belief. We happened to be here in winter so things were a lot more relaxed, but that didn’t stop visitors from braving the waters.

We did a favela tour to Babilônia and Chapéu Mangueira. On our tour we saw lots of street art, learned about life inside a favela.

And that is a wrap! We hope this video will give you guys some ideas of things to do in Rio de Janeiro on your visit, and for those travellers who have already been there, feel free to add your suggestion of cool activities and attractions in the comments below.

This is part of our Travel in Brazil video series showcasing Brazilian food, Brazilian culture and Brazilian cuisine.

Rio de Janeiro Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia

The early morning in Rio de Janeiro brings quiet, misty coastlines and pink-purple sunrises. The Brazilian locals are up and about soon enough, piling onto the beautiful beaches and expressing themselves through artwork, dance, and the ubiquitous Rio de Janeiro partying.

A Rio de Janeiro tour must stop at Christ the Redeemer, the ubiquitous statue that watches over the city from above the Tijuca National Forest. Take the cable car to the lookout point on Sugarloaf Mountain, the city’s iconic peak, and try not to look down – it’s a long way to drop!

After a morning spent in nature, your Rio de Janeiro sightseeing should continue in the city proper. Join the sun worshippers at Copacabana, where you can stake out a patch of beach or float out to sea with the paddleboarders. Shop for souvenirs in Ipanema, or take part in the street dances, festivals, and parades that may spontaneously break out.

The “Cidade Maravilhosa,” or the marvelous city, has much to offer all of its visitors. What impression will it leave with you?

Golden beaches and lush mountains, samba-fueled nightlife and spectacular football matches: welcome to the Cidade Maravilhosa.

Captivating Beaches
Rio's beaches have long seduced visitors. Copacabana Beach became a symbol of Rio during the 1940s, when international starlets would jet in for the weekend. Hogging the spotlight these days is Ipanema Beach, its fame and beauty unabated since bossa nova stars Tom Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes introduced the world to its allure in the 1960s. For cariocas (residents of Rio), the beach is Rio's backyard – a playground that's free and open to all, offering endless enjoyment in the form of football, volleyball, surfing, snacking, drinking or simply relaxing amid the passing parade of people.

Tropical Landscapes
Looking out from the 710m peak of Corcovado, you will see why Rio is called the Cidade Maravilhosa (Marvelous City). Lushly forested mountains fringe the city, shimmering beaches trace the shoreline and a string of tiny islands lie scattered along the seafront. Far from being mere cinematic backdrop, this seaside beauty hosts outstanding outdoor adventures: hiking in the Tijuca rainforest, cycling alongside the lake and beaches, sailing across Baía de Guanabara, and surfing, rock climbing and hang gliding amid one of the world's most stunning urban landscapes.

The Rhythms of Rio
Music is the lifeblood of Rio, with a soundtrack comprising rock, old-school bossa nova, hip-hop, funk and Brazil's many regional styles. Above all there's samba, a rapid-fire style of music with African influences and an infectious beat that is synonymous with Rio. You can hear it all over town, but the soul of samba resides in Lapa, an edgy red-light district that is home to dozens of live-music halls and an enormous weekend street party that draws revelers from all walks of life. Samba is also the integral sound during Carnaval, and the danceable backing music to street parties and all-night parades.

Joie de Vivre
Speaking of Carnaval, Rio knows how to party. Whether you call it joie de vivre, Lebensfreude or lust for life, cariocas have it in spades. Carnaval, and the buildup to it, is the most obvious manifestation of this celebratory spirit. But Rio has many other occasions for revelry: celebrations after a big Flamengo (or Vasco, Fluminense or Botafogo) soccer match; weekend samba parties around town; baile funk parties in the favelas (slums, informal communities); and boat parties on the bay – not to mention major fests such as Réveillon (New Year's Eve) and the Festas Juninas.

Why I Love Rio de Janeiro
The arrival of summer signals the start of Rio’s most intense period of partying and celebration. Christmas and New Year festivities run seamlessly into Carnival. And although the main event doesn’t start until late February, the samba schools’ weekly ensaios (rehearsal events) are in full swing by the start of December. Ever the outdoors city, the rising temperatures draw locals and tourists alike to Rio’s beaches and forest waterfalls, and the longer days give visitors even more time to gaze in awe at the city’s abundance of breath-taking views. On clear, sunny days, the iconic landmarks – Corcovado, Sugarloaf Mountain and Ipanema beach – will not disappoint. However, Rio has plenty more to offer those willing to dig a little deeper. The city’s rich culture of music and food is best explored in the bars and samba clubs in the bohemian neighborhoods of Lapa and Santa Teresa. And although you are never far from the manic noise of a party, some of Rio’s most charming pleasures are the simplest: enjoying an ice cold beer on the Mureta da Urca, a tranquil stroll through the Botanical Gardens or taking in the sunset from the rocks of Arpoador.

Corcovado Mountain, Christ Redeemer and Sugar Loaf Mountain Day Tour

Combine two of Rio's most popular tours on a full-day excursion packed with breathtaking views. In the morning, you'll enjoy a panoramic city tour and have the opportunity to ride a cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. After lunch, you'll travel through the Tijuca Rain Forest by cog train to the statue of Christ the Redeemer on top of Corcovado Mountain. This tour is an excellent option if your time in Rio de Janeiro is limited, giving you the best of Rio in one great day.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is one of the one of the wildest and most exotic places I have every experienced, and the nightlife is nothing short of amazing.

Monday - Pedra do Sal

Our week starts out at the most popular party spot on Monday night in downtown Rio…

Tuesday - Gavea

On Tuesday, join the international crowd at the Zero Zero club in Gavea for a good vibe and great dance music.

Wednesday - Botafogo

Botafogo is the place to be in on Wednesday night as there’s a variety of bars to check out, and you can’t miss Karaoke night at Casa de Matriz!

Thursday - Baixo Gavea

University Students flood the streets of Baixo Gavea on Thursday night to enjoy some drinks and let off a little steam.

Friday - Lapa

The heart of Rio nightlife is in the downtown area of Lapa. You can pre-game in the streets and listen to all the great live music.

From there, head into one of the popular night clubs like Lapa 40 or Rio Scenarium.

And if you have the opportunity, you gotta experience a Monobloco concert at Fundição Progresso.

Saturday - Samba School

Sunday - Beach, Santa Teresa or Urca

And If you’re still alive on Sunday, you have a few options… You could go to the beach and relax, re-hydrate with a coconut water, and watch the sunset from Arpoador, maybe you’d prefer heading to Santa Teresa, eat a traditional Feijoada and watch the sunset from Hotel Santa Teresa, or you can go down to my favorite neighborhood in all of Rio, Urca, to drink a few beers with friends along the Marina and enjoy the views.

Whatever you decide, just make sure you get enough rest to do it all over again tomorrow.
