Our kids loved this charming town - Antigua Guatemala #familytravel

After staying in our favorite hotel in Guatemala - Hobbitenango we drove down the volcano slope to a magical little town of Antigua Guatemala.
It is a popular tourist attraction that hasn't been really discovered yet.
We loved the ruins, the architecture, the authentic feel to the town but the people are the ones that truly stole our hearts.
Every moment in Antigua made us fall more in love with Guatemala.
We met a group of students from IMEPCEP school in Villa Nueva, Guatemala.
Antigua Guatemala has only one McDonald's in town and it's the most beautiful McDonald's we've ever seen! Check it out!

Beware of this Naughty Market in Guatemala!????????

These are my first impressions of Antigua, the oldest historic capital of Guatemala which was also one of the most important and famous cities in all of Central America!
I started my walk from the main square and a little later, as I was wandering in the local market of Antigua, I found myself in an extremely strange and naughty situation that will surely be unforgettable.

Hope you enjoy this video, haha!!

Street Food in Guatemala!! ???? CRISPIEST CHICHARRON with Jalapeños!! ????

???????? Guatemalan Street Food Tour:
???? T-shirts:
???? Ghost Chili:

ANTIGUA GUATEMALA - We’re in the beautiful historical city of Antigua Guatemala, a city you most definitely must visit during your trip to Guatemala. Along with the architecture and history, you don’t want to miss all of the delicious food and today we’re going on a food tour to eat some of the most popular local dishes.

La Cuevita de Los Urquizú ( - This is a fantastic place to try traditional Guatemalan food, especially the stew dishes. They have a huge variety prepared at the front, and you choose what you want along with the sides.

El Comalote ( - When it comes to corn tortillas, Guatemala has some of the best in the world, and El Comalote aims to preserve heirloom Guatemalan corn varieties and make the best quality tortillas imaginable. They make all their tortillas in house and serve them with simple sides like chorizo, carne asada, and plenty of sauces and guacamol.

Chicharrones La Cindal ( - Next up on this Central American street food tour in Antigua Guatemala, we had some of the crispiest chicharron I’ve ever had in my live at Chicharrones La Cindal. They serve it with radish, and sauteed onions and jalapenos.

Street Food - Parque La Merced - Another place to get delicious Guatemalan street food is at the Parque La Merced. After trying a corn porridge dish I couldn’t resist a huge enchilada.

Santa Ana Night - Lastly we headed over to Santa Ana, adjacent to Antigua for our final few street food snacks, and specifically to eat a sandwich known as the buffalo!

5 Things NOT To Do in Guatemala

Get more Tips here!
With its lush landscapes, Mayan ruins, and towering volcanoes, there aren't too many things not to love about Guatemala. But like most countries, there are some Things NOT To Do in Guatemala.

1. Don't Visit Guatemala City
According to the U.S. Department of State's travel notice, the city is rife with violent crimes against U.S. citizens and foreign travelers. The capital was once considered safe, but those days are long gone.

2. Don't Wear Flip Flops to the Mayan Ruins
Unless you want to lose your footing and sprain an ankle, leave the flip flops in your suitcase. The ancient Mayan Ruins are over a thousand years old, staircases may be unstable, and grassy areas uneven. So watch your step!

3. Don't Have Your Heart Set on Delicious Coffee
Guatemala may be known for producing some of the best brews you'll ever taste. Sadly, most of the coffee is exported, which means you won't be sipping a cup of Guatemalan joe during your stay.

4. Don't Travel at Night
It's a necessary precaution when traveling, especially in Guatemala. When night falls, the chances of becoming a victim of a crime are far greater.

5. Don't Take Photos of the Locals Without Permission
There are unsubstantiated rumors in Mayan communities that foreigners have the intent to steal their children and sell them abroad. A Japanese tourist was tragically killed by an angry mob of 500 villagers after he took pictures of indigenous women and children in a market.

Where do you want to know what NOT to do in next?

EXPLORING LAKE ATITLAN WITH A 2M BABY - GUATEMALA

We took our first trip together. Luna was just a wee 2 month old baby, but I was going nuts in the house. We went somewhere familiar, back to Guatemala to see friends. I had my first meal without a baby in my arms in two months - it was incredible to see the lake and friends and get some time to ease into each other on the road.

How I ALMOST DIED Traveling in GUATEMALA #sick #travel #guatemala

First we were planning to hike the Acatenango, a volcano in Guatemala near Antigua, which is right next to the active Fuego. During travel, not everything goes as planned and we had to deal with the realisation, that we had a serious sickness to deal with, rather than climbing a 4000m volcano. Come and join us on this different vlog.
