CHEESY GRILLED CLAMS in Korea ???? Busan Day 3

Today in Busan, South Korea, we grill clams in the Haeundae District! It's a popular spot and we see for ourselves what the fuss is about. Yo. Cheese and butter is cheating; it makes everything taste so good ????

Located within walking distance of the art museum is Shinsegae Centum City Department Store, which is HUGE and houses 10 floors of shopping, theaters, and a massive food court. But mostly it's shopping. Watch the video to see the adventure unfold!

Today we try a local specialty in Busan: Dongnae Pajeon. Pajeon translates to green onion pancake. Dongnae is an area in Busan. We also stroll around the Dongnae Market (동래시장), which we learn was open since 1770! Making it 250 years old by the year 2020. A small confection shop attracts us with their handmade yakgwa (약과). The best I've ever had. Handmade treats wins over the machine-made ones in this case. We end the day with a trip to the contemporary art museum (a different one from a few episodes ago). Watch the full video to see the day unfold!

KOREAN AIRBNB TOUR with pool table (Busan Day 9)

???? Bujeon Market Video:

You might be wondering: what do Airbnbs in South Korea look like? Some options include staying at a guesthouse, sleeping in a hanok, booking a room and sharing the rest of the house with a native Korean family.

In Seoul and Busan, many Airbnb listings are hosted in studio-sized units located in tall multi-purpose buildings with a convenience store and other businesses. Some of these units will feel modern and clean, while others are old and casual. Ours happened to have a pool table and all kinds of games. Not a typical Airbnb setup from my experience.

The main reason I choose an Airbnb over a hotel is to have a kitchen. I like my morning veggies, plain and simple. However I prefer the check-in process at hotels. Korean Airbnbs I've stayed had fairly easy check-ins (ie: give you digital code for door), but in some other countries, I've had experiences where the host gives an extensive list of instructions to obtain a physical key (ie: open lock for box located on a bike, get key for mailbox, then get house key from mailbox & don't talk to anyone, especially the security guard). After a long flight and especially if you arrive at night, the last thing you want is a complicated check-in process.

Some Airbnbs in South Korea are registered and operate legally. In cases where the Airbnb listing is not registered, you may encounter uncomfortable situations where the security guard asks you details and the host will ask you to give specific answers. It would be convenient to know which Airbnb listing is registered when booking, but it's often hard to distinguish which are operating legally just from reading the listing's description. Some buildings have relaxed security while others will be strict and try to catch unregistered Airbnb units.

Hope you find this info to be helpful and enjoy this Airbnb tour! For other Korean Airbnb tours, you can check out my other videos:

Speaking ONLY KOREAN for 24 Hours

We're speaking ONLY KOREAN for the next 24 hours! My Korean is a bit rusty right now, so this will be a challenge. When I visit Korea, my language skills get polished again. However being born and raised in USA, I feel the most comfortable expressing myself in English. Hope you enjoy this video as I rarely vlog only in Korean (I think it's my first time lol)

KOREAN STREET FOOD TOUR ♦ ft Frozen S'mores

Today we check out the street food scene of Myeongdong! We've filmed here before during the winter and autumn months. It's our first time showing you the SUMMER TREATS. New dishes have emerged since our last visit and we can't wait to show you! Myeongdong offers many fusion and international street food. For a larger selection of traditional Korean dishes, I recommend Gwangjang Market :)
