48 HOURS ON KOS (Greece ????????) Top Things To Do, Favourite Beach, Incredible Sunsets
This is how we spent 48 hours on the beautiful Greek Island of Kos! As it was getting rainy and dark in our home town of Hamburg, we were looking for a sunny getaway in Europe that wouldn’t require a huge budget. While browsing flight prices we came across a great deal with direct flights for the Greek Island of Kos. As we love Greece already this was a no-brainer for us – so here are the highlights from 48 hours on the island. We search for our favourite beach on the island, eat delicious Greek food and check out incredible sunset spots.
Based on our trip we think that Kos is a great budget friendly beach destination in Europe. We only booked the trip 2-3 weeks in advance, so you might get a better deal! Here’s a quick breakdown of the costs for our trip:
- Package deal with return flights from Hamburg and budget hotel for 7 nights: 450€ per person.
- Rental car on Kos: 26€ per day incl. all insurances

1. 00:00 Navagio - ShipwreckYou can access this beach only by boat, you can find the boat trip from Port Vromi Maries, there is another on from Port Zakynthos but I don’t recommend it because it is a very big boat and too crowded
2. 01:08 Porto Roxa BeachYou can access this beach by car. It is a nice place to chill and have a meal on the restaurants at the beach
3. 01:26 Porto Limnionas beach water there is nice to swim, some times it is a bit wave but it is a nice place to see
4. 01:54 Korakonissiyou can set on the mountain and enjoy the view, and you can still go for a nice snorkelling tour
5. 02:14 Xigia Sulfur beach This beach is one of the best in town the water is very clear and contains sulfur. you can access it by car as well
6. 02:26 PlakakiThis place is nice to take pictures with the rocks mountains in the sea
7. 02:48 Marathonisi Beach - Turtles island You need to take a boat trip to there. There are many tours near Zaykynthos port

The Greek island of Zakynthos is known for its Instagram famous Navagio beach. It has wild beaches, turquoise waters and sandy beaches. We chose this island because we fall in love with Navagio beach and decided this to be the first greek island we visit.
