The lake covers an area of 27 km2 (10 sq mi), and has an elevation of 3,850 metres (12,630 feet). The lake was created by a landslide dam. Parlung River flows out of the lake.
The lake is within the historical region of Kham. The average temperature is 8.5 °C (47.3 °F), and the rainfall 849.7 mm (33.45 in). It has been a famous tourist destination.

- Sichuan-Tibet Highway 318 (G318, 國道318) of China runs from Shanghai to Zhangmu on the China-Nepal border. It is the longest China National Highway at 5,476 kilometres (3,403 mi) in length and runs west from Shanghai towards Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Chongqing, Sichuan, and ends in Tibet Autonomous Region. From Lhasa to Zhangmu it is also called Friendship Highway. At the Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge, it connects with the 115 km long Araniko Highway to Kathmandu.

- Kangding (康定), also called Tachienlu and Dartsedo, is a county-level city and the seat of Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan province of Southwest China. Kangding is on the bank of the Dadu River and has been considered the historical border between the Kham region of Tibet and the Sichuan region of China. Kangding's urban center is called Lucheng, which has around 134,000 inhabitants.

Nyingchi to Chamdo - Scenic Drive 4K HDR - Tibet, China
Scenic driving tour in Tibet from Sumzom Bomi Nyingchi to Rawu Baxoi Qamdo through amazing mountain road of China national highway G318.
From Bomê County to Rakwa Tso, one of the most beautiful sections of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway G318, we followed Palong Zangbo all the way eastward along the Highway until we reached its source: Upper Rakwa Tso.
Along the way, both sides of National Highway 318 are surrounded by snow peaks and glaciers with an elevation of 5,000 to 6,000 meters. Lower Rakwa Tso is located next to the Highway. It is called the Tears of Heaven, with an elevation of nearly 3,900 meters. Finally, we will drive towards Zayu and arrive at Upper Rakwa Tso Lake.
February to March every year is the most suitable season for sightseeing of Rakwa Tso. The lake water is clear and the snow-capped mountains are reflected. In summer, the water becomes turbid. (Our channel also filmed the scenery of Rakwa Tso in winter, welcome to check it out)

- Bamda (Tibetan: སྤངམདའ།, Wylie: spang mdav; simplified Chinese: 帮达乡; traditional Chinese: 幫達鄉; pinyin: Bāngdá Xiāng) is a small township in Markam County in the south-east of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) from Lhasa. It is basically an army garrison with a small Tibetan village around the corner.

- Nyingchi, also known as Linzhi and as Nyingtri, is a prefecture-level city in southeast of China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The administrative seat of Nyingchi is Bayi District. Part of Nyingchi is disputed and currently administered by India as part of Arunachal Pradesh.
- China National Highway 318 (G318), it runs from Shanghai to Zhangmu on the China-Nepal border. It is the longest China National Highway at 5,476 kilometres (3,403 mi) in length and runs west from Shanghai towards Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Chongqing, Sichuan, and ends in Tibet Autonomous Region. From Lhasa to Zhangmu it is also called Friendship Highway. At the Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge, it connects with the 115 km long Araniko Highway to Kathmandu.

4K Tibet driving tour without music on China national highway G318 to the Rakwa Tso Lake tourism attraction in Nyingchi.
- Rakwa Tso (Tibetan: རག་ཝྭ་མཚོ, Wylie: rag wwa mtsho; simplified Chinese: 然乌湖; traditional Chinese: 然烏湖; pinyin: Ránwū Hú), also known as Rawu Tso or Ranwu Lake, is a lake in Baxoi County, Chamdo Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, China, to the north of Arza Gongla Glacier, and to the south of Ngagung Tso. The lake covers an area of 27 km2 (10 sq mi), and has an elevation of 3,850 metres (12,630 feet). The lake was created by a landslide dam. Parlung River flows out of the lake.
The lake is within the historical region of Kham. The average temperature is 8.5 °C (47.3 °F), and the rainfall 849.7 mm (33.45 in). It has been a famous tourist destination.

The city has been the religious and administrative capital of Tibet since the mid-17th century. It contains many culturally significant Tibetan Buddhist sites such as the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Norbulingka Palaces.

???? LINLA EXPRESSWAY, is a section of the Yaye Expressway, a route in the National Expressway Network Planning (2013-2030), and the national expressway network number is G4218. The Lin-La Highway starts from Nyingchi City in the Tibet Autonomous Region in the east and Lhasa City in the Tibet Autonomous Region in the west.
The Linla high-grade expressway is about 409.2 kilometers in length; the endding point is connected to the Lhasa Ring Expressway. The Linla Expressway is an important part of the Sichuan-Tibet Expressway, and it is also the main passage connecting Central Tibet, the Eastern Tibet Economic Belt and even the Great Southwest of China.
The Nyingchi section and Lhasa section of the Linla high-grade Expressway were opened to traffic on September 9, 2015, and the Mimo section and Gongmi section were completed in October 2017.

Our Tibet Road Trip Part 1
We hired a 4 wheel drive vehicle with driver for our overland trip from Chengdu – Sichuan Province China to Tibet. Lots of red tape as we needed permits for Tibet, driving overland to Tibet, and my visa was only for 30 days. This was a 41 days total trip including other areas of China.
The number of the road signs are the elevation in meters. The highest altitude we reach was around 5018 meters, over 16,460 feet! The red cheeks of the local people is because of the altitude.
We also went to various other areas of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. Roads were under construction back then with many of them dirt roads and we encounter rock slides along the way. This road trip would be a lot easier today as they built tunnels and a major highway. This trip was back in 2006.
