The Village Where The Roofs Are Also Streets | Show Me Where You Live Compilation

Philippe is interested in how architecture can provide a glimpse into how people live all around the world. He travels to some of the most unique spots and culture on the planet to see what they have to offer. Today he is in Northern Iran in Masuleh, an area of lush landscape, unlike the desert climate most of the country offers. In this small village, the roofs are all interconnected to form pedestrian areas. Nest, Philippe heads to southern Louisiana to see the Bayou Country and how homeowners there have adapted to hurricane season.

Exploring IRAQ as an AMERICAN WOMAN: the TRUTH

In this video Chloe Jade Travels to Iraq as a solo female American traveler.

This video was recorded over a week of travel in December 2021.

Sadly, many people in the USA think that Iraq is a completely different reality than it is. The reason for this is partially because of our political history with the country, but also because of what has been portrayed in the media time and time again.

Although my footage is nothing similar to what I would film now, I really enjoyed sharing shorts of this trip. I hope I can somewhat relay the beauty of this country, and why everyone should visit Iraq if they get the chance.

The main video is about 40 minutes long, and there is an 18 minute Q&A at the end.

If you have other questions please leave them in the comments, I will try to answer as much as I can.

Thank you for watching ????

Rail Event - 3rd TopRail RailtoLand Forum: Railway and Tourism: a cultural perspective, 26/10/2021

3rd TopRail-RailtoLand Forum 26 October 2021: Railway and Tourism: a cultural perspective.

Under the motto: “ Railway and Tourism: a cultural perspective” this online workshop was organized in cooperation between UIC TopRail members and RailtoLand Erasmus plus EU project consortium. The key issue that was addressed during this workshop is the landscape as a tourist resource, which is especially relevant for the development of entrepreneurial actions in the railway system and the improvement of the traveler experience. While rail travelling, customers are attracted by natural beauties, as well as by cultural and historical assets such as tunnels and bridges. It is the combination of the uniqueness of the landscapes, the beauty of the train carts and the onboard experience that created an extraordinary experience for travelers.

The Forum hosted high-level representatives and experts from various international organizations, including representatives from Spain, France, the Netherlands, Iran, Russia, the United Kingdom as well as by representatives from the international associations such as Fedecrail, who shared their experience and knowledge in the field of railway tourism.

Tehran History (Iran)

Unveiling Khoy City's Ancient Market: A Hidden Gem in Iran

#historical_market of City Khoy
Bazar #khoy is an old and large market in #West_azarbaijan which was left over from the Safavid era and was one of the prosperous commercial #centers of the country during that time. Since #Azerbaijan is located on important roads such as Mecca Road, Silk Road, access road to Jolfa, etc., this market has been of special importance in the past. Khoi market is located in the eastern side of Khoy city and with more than 300 years old, it is still thriving and is known as one of the traditional markets of Iran.
This market has a rectangular plan and consists of many rows, quadrangles and houses, and it is considered one of the most beautiful historical markets in Iran. Although some parts of Khoy market have been encroached upon over time, what remains is the unique architecture of that era.
This market is located in the old part of the city and according to many historians and #travelers it is one of the most #beautiful markets in Iran.

Introduction of market mood

To visit this old market, which is considered one of the must-see places in Khoy city, you should look for it on the southeast side of the central intersection, in line with Taleghani and Neghlab streets.
Due to its location on the famous Silk Road, Makkah Yuli, the Trabuzan-Jolfa road, etc., in the past, Khoy had many caravanserais for the unloading of goods and rest for merchants, and a wide market for the trading of various goods. Bazar Khoy, which remains today, is the remnant of a larger market that was on the eastern side and connected to the wall of the entrance gate of the city.
Initially, the Khoy market consisted of only a few covered rows, a few houses, several squares and ancient passages, and many parts of the rows and caravanserais were added later.
Although this market was damaged several times due to earthquake and twice due to fire, once during the Qajar period and another in 1339, but it has been restored and has preserved its original form in terms of architecture and economy. Bazar Khoy is still one of the important commercial centers for the export of carpets, wool and dry goods inside and outside the country.
Bazar Khoy was registered as one of the national works of Iran in June 1366 AH. If you are interested in visiting historical buildings, in the south of this old bazaar you can see caravanserais, historical mosques of Molhassan, Haj Baba and Hajjatiyeh, Hammam Mohammad Bey and a stone gate with its eye-catching architecture.

Getting to know the history of #Khoymarket

The city of Khoy is seven thousand years old and is considered one of the oldest centers of civilization in the northwest of Iran. In the past, this city has been very important due to its location on famous #commercial roads and also due to its economic centrality.
The Khoy market was originally built during the Safavid period, and according to the existing inscription from that era, which is currently kept in the Khoy treasury, this market was built during the reign of Shah Tahmasb Safavid. During the period of #Qajar rule, changes were made in it by the order of Abbas Mirza and by Amir Ahmad Khan Danbali, and good measures were taken in organizing this market.

The access route to Khoy market

The exact address of this old market is Shahr Khoy, southeast side of Central Crossroads, Taleghani Street. You can use a private car or public transportation to visit this market.

TABRIZ, the Capital of East Azerbaijan Province

In this video you can enjoy wonderful background music performed by Habib Habibov, a local pianist.
* The area of parks in Tabriz is 2.595 sq. km, and the area of green spaces is 8.548 sq. km. You should read the information like this. Sorry for the mistake.
***
I have dedicated this video to the ancient and beautiful city of Tabriz, which the Azerbaijanis of the world consider a very native city.
***
Tabriz is the administrative center of East Azerbaijan province.
The city of Tabriz is considered the spiritual and cultural capital of Azerbaijanis. Throughout history, it has been one of the most important centers of science and culture in the Middle East. The majority of the population is Azerbaijanis.
Tabriz is the 3rd largest city in Iran after Tehran and Mashhad by area and the fifth largest city in the country with a population of 1,627,304 in 2021.
The area of the central part of the city is 325 km2.
***
Tabriz is the largest economic hub and metropolitan area in northwest Iran. The population is bilingual, speaking Azeri Turkish and Persian.
The majority of the city's population are Azerbaijani people, followed by Persians, Armenians, Assyrians, and other people of Caucasus.
The predominant language spoken in Tabriz is Azerbaijani, which is a Turkic language mutually intelligible with modern Turkish dialects. Similar to the other parts of Iran, the official language is Persian and the most inhabitants have native or near-native knowledge of Persian language, which is the major medium of education.
***
Tabriz is also an academic hub and a site for some of the most prestigious cultural institutes in Northwest Iran.
Tabriz contains many historical monuments, representing Iran's architectural transition throughout its deep history. Most of the preserved historical places of Tabriz belong to the periods when the Ilkhani, Safavid and Qajar dynasties were in power.
***
Among these sites is the Grand Bazaar of Tabriz, which is designated a World Heritage Site. In the modern era the city played a vital role in the history of Iran. As the country's closest hub to Europe, many aspects of early modernization in Iran began in Tabriz.
***
The powers of authority in the city belong to the mayor, who is elected by a municipal board. The municipal board is periodically elected by the city's residents. The Municipal Central Office is located at the Tabriz Municipality Palace.
Tabriz is divided into 12 municipal districts.

The Catholic Cemetery in Doulab - Polish Cemetery ( Fars Travel Company ) ( Iran Program Presstv )

The 75th anniversary of the arrival of more than 120,000 polish refugees (including women and children) in Iran during WWII was marked in Tehran and Isfahan by a string of cultural events, curtesy of the polish government as a token of appreciation for the warm welcome they received at the time from Iranians.

We took the opportunity to go through historical facts to exhibit the level of religious tolerance that the peace loving nation of Iran displayed at a time when they were struggling with the consequences of WWII including famine and widespread epidemics.

The events include a exhibition of a collection of very rare photos of polish children in Isfahan which were recently discovered; a play, performance art and a music band comprising of both Iranian and Polish musicians; and a tour pf the old neighborhoods were the refugees were stationed as well as the cemetery were nearly 2000 of them are buried.
