Swiss Air Business Class A340-300 Zurich-Chicago

If I had to nit-pick one little item about flying Business Class on Swiss Air, it would be the screens are too small. A wonderful crew, good meal choice, lots of chocolate (what else on a Swiss flight) and almost best of all, air map cameras that enable passengers to watch a landing.

TRIP REPORT | Edelweiss opby. SWISS [Economy Class] Airbus A340-300 | ZRH-PMI | WK246

A month and a half after my Lufthansa 747 flight, I'm already heading to Palma de Mallorca again - this time with the Airbus A340! Join me on this Edelweiss Air flight operated by SWISS on one of their A340-300s.

This is the first time I've flown on an A340, and I must say it was not a bad experience! The 2-4-2 Economy Class configuration is quite nice in my opinion, and I also found the aircraft to be relatively quiet; at least at the rear of the cabin. SWISS have recently refurbished their A340s too, so despite the age of our aircraft, the cabin felt pretty fresh. This was far more interesting and cooler than the narrowbody that would typically have been deployed on that route!

Another nice element of the flight, was the presence of a complimentary snack and drink; courtesy of Edelweiss Air. I think this is always a nice touch, and it shows the airline cares about you! There are, indeed, plenty of European airlines that could take note from Edelweiss.

Without further ado - sit back, relax and enjoy the video!

THE VALUE OF THIS VIDEO:
THE MAIN VALUE IS EDUCATION. This reconstruction will be useful for actual or future air traffic controllers and pilots, people who plan to connect life with aviation, who like aviation. With help of this video reconstruction you’ll learn how to use radiotelephony rules, Aviation English language and general English language (for people whose native language is not English) in situation in flight, which was shown. THE MAIN REASON I DO THIS IS TO HELP PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND EVERY EMERGENCY SITUATION, EVERY WORD AND EVERY MOVE OF AIRCRAFT.

HOW I DO VIDEOS:
1) I monitor media, airspace, looking for any non-standard, emergency and interesting situation.
2) I find communications of ATC unit for the period of time I need.
3) I take only phrases between air traffic controller and selected flight.
4) I find a flight path of selected aircraft.
5) I make an animation (early couple of videos don’t have animation) of flight path and aircraft, where the aircraft goes on his route.
6) When I edit video I put phrases of communications to specific points in video (in tandem with animation).
7) Together with my comments (voice and text) I edit and make a reconstruction of emergency, non-standard and interesting situation in flight.

Swiss A340 Business Zurich to Sao Paulo / Flight review #16 / The Way We Saw It

Our flight today with Swiss International Airlines brings us from Zurich to Sao Paulo in Business Class with an A340 aircraft. We will also show you the new Business Lounge at Zurich Airport Terminal E, Gates E.

We were invited by Swiss to take part of a test providing a full four course meal prior to the flight in the lounge in a dedicated area, thus assuring a longer sleep while on board. We enjoyed this opportunity and you will see what we had. We will nevertheless show you what was on offer on board too.

After a smooth flight, we landed on time at Sao Paulo Guarulhos Airport. We had the old Business Class, which is actually not so old, but you will see how quickly a Business Class product can become obsolete. The staff was phenomenal as usual on this Swiss flight.
