We had a blast in the beautiful clear water on one of the best tours on Moorea and the guide even showed us how to make poisson cru, a traditional Tahitian dish that I fell in love with!
After the tour we attended the Polynesian Dinner show at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon and Spa! One of the best meals we had on the Tahitian Islands!

Swimming with Giants in Tahiti
We spent 10 days in French Polynesia, island hopping to some of the most picturesque and remote islands in the world.

In Moorea, we met up with world-renowned conservationists, the Coral Gardeners, to plant coral and learn about their mission to save the ocean’s reef. We also swam with an adult humpback whale and her calf in the open ocean. From there we traveled to Tikehau, dubbed the fishiest atoll in the world, where we were introduced to local spear fisherman and free diver Denis Grosmaire, who taught us how to spearfish and cook our catch. The next day, Denis took us swimming with tiger sharks with no cage—an adrenaline rush like no other. We closed out our journey with a stay at the luxurious Conrad Bora Bora, where we were treated to some much needed rest and relaxation in our own personal overwater bungalows.

Diving FRENCH POLYNESIA - Tahiti - Underwater Video 4K - BLUE PARADISES (S01)

Bora Bora, Fakarava, Ranguiroa, Tahiti, Tikehau, Moorea, Maupiti... It sounds like heaven, doesn't it?
It's because it is, an underwater paradise like there is no other. Some say fifty shades of blue.
Our Odyssey through these islands and atolls is one of the most spectacular diving expeditions we have had the chance to do.
A crystal clear water (visbility can reach 45 meters), hundreds of different reef fish species, corals and pelagic, to sum up : an exceptional beauty both in terms of flora and fauna.
French Polynesia is known as the largest shark santuary in the world,
probably the only place in the world where you can see 6 species of sharks in a single dive : Grey reef sharks, Tiger sharks, Black-tip sharks, White-tip sharks, Nurse sharks and Lemon sharks. Yes! In a single dive.
The dives are mainly drifting because of the underwater topography of its passes, this is where the show begins, life is teeming: Hammerhead sharks, dolphins, school of barracuda, eagle rays, turtles, manta rays, marbled groupers, tuna, napoleons... We are not going to give you an exhaustive list, because there are around 800 species, I'll let you imagine.
We dived into the main passes:Tiputa, Tumakohua, Garuae, Avatoru,... But the one that offered us the most beautiful spectacle is undoubtedly Tetamanu, the southern pass of Fakarava. Imagine yourself in front of a wall of 700 sharks (We were there the third week of June).
If you do not yet practice scuba diving, no worries, you can fully enjoy the beauties that French Polynesia has to offer by practicing snorkeling.
In the stunning lagoon of Moorea, you can snorkel with stingrays, black tip sharks and colorful fishes.
If French Polynesia benefits from a unique underwater environment, magnificent coral reefs and amazing lagoons, it is also an earthly paradise, not only for its majestic scenery or its dream beaches but above all for the kindness of the Polynesians (Tahitians).
So far we have mainly traveled to the Society Islands and the Tuamotus but we are planning to go in the Austral archipelago to swim with the
Humpback whales. Exploring Polynesia is the adventure of a lifetime, because it is the size of Europe.

Swimming with Sharks and Rays in Bora Bora - Snorkel Tour
This video is about Day 2 of our Bora Bora Honeymoon. We took a half day excursion to snorkel around the island including swimming with reef sharks and feeding sting rays. The tour took us to a private motu or island where we had home made lunch and got to explore the little island afterwards.

Swimming with WHALES in French Polynesia
This experience changed my life.
Swimming, freediving and dancing with whales around a secret island in French Polynesia is an experience I will never, ever forget. These gentle giants are elegant, intelligent and loving, and we were so blessed that a group of them chose to spend hours with us. We even got to see them breaching a few times!
The island feels like Eden, where the fishermen only need lines and spear guns, and the fruit trees are beyond prolific. I watched the locals of all ages perform Tahitian dancing at church (shown in the vlog). There must be at least a hundred families there for the event. It’s not for tourists, and there aren’t many at all, but I’m welcome and it feels good. This whole island feels good. It’s like I’ve been searching for it my whole life.
I hope you don’t mind, but I’ll never name this place. If you find it, you’ll know why. If you are trying to plan a similar trip, the best months to swim with whales in French Polynesia are between mid-August to October. I am also leading 2 small groups of women to do the exact same thing next September. The trips are now sold out, but you can join the waiting list here:

Thanks so much for joining us on this adventure. Moorea is just a dozen miles from Tahiti but it seems a world apart. We are totally loving being anchored here. We're meeting tons of great sailors, sharing sundowners on other sailboats (or on the beach) and snorkeling our butts off. What's not to love?!?
And yes, you heard it right: MOM is coming! We'll sail back to Tahiti to pick her up then turn s/v CURIOSITY back around and anchor in Moorea. It's gonna be a blast.
