KUNGSLEDEN: A Journey Through Northern Sweden | Kungsleden hiking documentary | 4K

KUNGSLEDEN: A Journey Through Northern Sweden
This documentary tells the story of hiking Kungsleden, of the beautiful untouched Swedish nature, of the long days of hiking and wildcamping and of the interesting people I met along the way.

This film takes you along my hike in August 2020 and my experiences and encounters along the Kungsleden trail. Thank you to all the people that made this possible, especially Klaus, Zina, Marcus, Tomas & Paniz and Per who I interviewed for this documentary. I hope you enjoy this documentary film as much as I enjoyed my hike and producing this film.

Thank you to the STF for providing some comfort like showers, warm fireplaces and holding my parcels along the way, and making the Kungsleden so much more accessible. Thank you to the Swedish provinces for maintaining the trail and making this last European wilderness accessible in a sustainable way.

Feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel for more hiking related content.

And a great thank you to REAL Turmat, Osprey Europe, Hanwag, Pinewood, Darn Tough and many other for supporting me in making this documentary.
*If you want to try the food I ate in this film - which I absolutely love - please visit or my own webshop (Dutch) on .
*On this hike I used the Osprey Exos 58 ( and Osprey UL raincover L ( provided by Osprey Europe and they worked like a absolute charm.
* I wore Hanwag Tatra II GTX boots, which are my go to boots for 6 years now
* I also really liked my two pair Darn Tough socks I alternated between on this hike
* I licensed music through artlist - get a free month if you sign up via this link:

In this blog you’ll find my entire gear list for Kungsleden The links provided are for your convenience and no affiliate links and do not earn me anything - unless you buy through my webshop which would be great!

Sweden Walks: Åre, Mountain town in summer, 4k, natural sound

Åre is the largest and most popular ski resort in Sweden. It´s been a popular place for hikers in summers and skiers in winters since 1880’s. But the town is older, and the pretty stone church that I pass on this walk is from the 12th century.

FAQ:
Where are you from? Are you Japanese?
- I am Swedish.

For how long have you lived in Japan?
- I came to Japan in 2008.

Why did you move to Japan?
- I was interested in Japan since I was a child, largely thanks to growing up playing a lot of (Japanese) videogames as well as a brief interest in anime during my teenage years. When I finally came here for the first time I felt that it was a really nice and interesting country, and I decided to do what I could to move here permanently.

How did you get a visa to Japan?
- It's complicated and my case is quite different from most, as I've always been self-employed. But basically, as long as you can show the immigration authorities that you have a stable income, there's usually a way. Personally, I was here on journalist visas until a few years ago when I got married. Now I have a spouse visa.

Do you work in Japan?
- Yes, I'm a photographer. Currently, most of my work is related to tourism and travel in Japan, but I also do portrait photography as well as documentary work. I used to write news stories and articles about Japan as well, mostly for newspapers in Sweden, but for the last 3-4 years, my work has been almost exclusively about photography. Sometimes I appear on TV too.

What camera do you use?
- My live walks are recorded with my phone, a Samsung S21 ultra, mounted on a DJI OM4 Gimbal. 4K videos are mostly shot with an iPhone 12 Pro Max. For my real work, I mostly use a Nikon Z7, but I also have a Z6, Fujifilm X-T3, Leica Q, Sony RX1R mk II and Ricoh GR III that comes with me from time to time.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to move to Japan?
- Study, learn a skill that's in demand in Japan. There are plenty of available jobs here. Some knowledge of the Japanese language would also help a lot, not just to get you a job, but also so that you can actually enjoy life while living here as well.

How did you learn Japanese?
- I went to language school in Tokyo for one year in 2010-2011. After that, I've also taken some online courses and studied on my own.

How many languages do you speak?
- Swedish, English and Japanese reasonably well, and also a bit of German, as I lived there before coming to Japan.

Will you make bicycle videos?
- No. Streaming and interacting with my viewers while riding a bike would be too dangerous.

Can you show your face?
- I prefer to keep a bit of privacy here on YouTube, at least for the time being. I do streams exclusive to my Patreon followers from time to time where I show my face though, so if you are really eager to see what I look like, and if you want to support the channel as well, you should consider joining me there.

Find yourself in Swedish nature

Why is Sweden ranked as one of the best countries to live in? A large part of the answer is Swedish nature. It is clean, vast and easy to access. It has been proved that spending time in nature makes humans more creative, reduces stress, eases pain and restores mental energy. Welcome to explore Swedish nature!

Exploring AMAZING Swedish Nature | My Favourite Things About Sweden

AMAZING Swedish Nature! The lakes in Sweden are among my favourite things about this country. I headed out to a couple of the incredible lakes that are close to where we live, and explained why I'm so grateful to be able to come and spend time in nature like this. I also explore a really nice 'seaside' town called Vadstena, including the massive castle and monastery there.

Take a look at The Swenglish Adventure!

My name's Tom, and I'm exploring the real Sweden. Sure, Stockholm's great, and Gothenburg is lovely, but I'm interested in exploring the things and places that made me fall in love with this country.

Sweden ????????, Fire festival in Kungsträdgården, Stockholm 2024 #firefestival #stockholm

The fire festival is a non-religious holiday that has been celebrated among many different peoples for almost 4000 years, and is reminiscent of the Swedish traditional Walborg celebration.
In Persian, the holiday is called Chaharshanbeh Soori and is always celebrated on the last Tuesday before the Iranian new year, Nouruz, which falls on the weekday. With blazing fires, nature's changes are welcomed, the transition of winter into spring.
The purpose of the Fire Festival in Stockholm is to create an honest, central meeting place where everyone, regardless of ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation, feels equally welcome to celebrate what we have been waiting for for so long. The daylight and the awakening of the sun.
The Fire Festival in Stockholm is a celebration of diversity and integration.
A holiday that is not only celebrated in the immigrant-dense suburbs, but has become a tradition for the whole of Stockholm.
In 2024, seven events will take place during the vren in connection with
The Fire Festival and Norouz

Swedish Nature

Swedish nature and its amazing wildlife

Just before dawn in a Swedish forest - Nature sounds

This is a recording I made in a forest in Sweden last year around 2AM, just before the dawn chorus started. I was expecting to just hear silence, but if you listen carefully you will notice that the woods were properly alive.

The soundscape features distant birds chirping, constant soft rustles, a Tawny Owl wailing wistfully, the low pitched call of the Bittern, cranes trumpeting and even a Lynx meowing! Towards the end you can hear the start of the dawn chorus as the forest prepares for the new day.

Hiking - amazing beautiful swedish nature. Forest adventure

@greatworld472 Beautiful weather allows me to go out into the field to discover more and more beautiful corners of the amazing Swedish nature. Today I'm going on a little hike through a charming forest by a beautiful lake. Nature lovers will definitely be in for a little treat :) I recorded this walk using my Samsung S twenty-three Ulltra. A reliable, unsponsored test. How did it perform in the field? Is it worth buying? Or maybe the iPhone 15 would do better? What amazing scene will this walk end with? Is it worth exploring these wonderful natural features on foot? Watch until the end and decide! You certainly haven't seen this! Let me know what you think about it in the comment! I am waiting for your opinion and suggestions. Greetings and enjoy watching!

Piękna pogoda pozwala mi wyjść w teren i odkrywać coraz piękniejsze zakątki niesamowitej szwedzkiej przyrody. Oglądaj do końca i decyduj! Na pewno tego nie widziałeś! Daj znać w komentarzu co o tym myślisz! Czekam na Twoją opinię i sugestie. Pozdrawiam i miłego oglądania!
