North Korea, What it's like to Visit! ???????? - Not what you'd expect ???? ????????

I got to visit North Korea in 2013 with Young Pioneer Tours when it was still legal for Americans to go. Follow my travels: No politics here, just showing you what a tour through North Korea and Pyongyang is like. [???? Blog Post:

Extremely few Americans that has ever step foot in North Korea (not counting the DMZ). I got to visit Pyongyang, Kaesong, the DMZ, Nampho, and flew back to Dandong where I explored the border as well before heading on a ferry boat from Dandong to Incheon South Korea. I mixed some of my own North Korea vLog footage with that from the tour video I got at the end of my North Korea Tour. Unfortunately due to due to Coronavirus / Covid-19 pandemic, as of 2020 both the North Korean border and Chinese border is shut so it will be hard to visit until 2021 at the earliest. While there was certainly a lot (i.e. tons) of propaganda, there were definitely many real moments with the citizens of North Korea was well. We got to visit sites like the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital, the demilitarized zone, a factory in Nampho, the Mansundae grand Hill Monument, Kim Il Sung Square and other spots that most tourists will be taken too. We were monitored by multiple minders at all time who were also monitoring each other. While much of the tour around Pyongyang was what I expected, other aspects surprised me. Don't tell my dog Murph but I may or may not have eaten dog meat ????

What is a North Korea tour like? What is it like to visit North Korea? Watch the video to find out! *NOTE if you're curious where I got some of the funky audio and music it was taken from a 90 minute DVD that was given to us at the end of the tour.

For more info I also wrote a 40 page article article on my friend Dave's blog about the experience. Shoutout to Gareth Johnson from Young Pioneer Tours and Dave Lee from Gobackpacking.com for helping me put this together.

Japan's mysterious 'keyhole' tombs - BBC REEL

A sense of mystery surrounds the keyhole-shaped kofun tombs in Japan.

Although the iconic Mozu Tombs in Sakai city, Osaka have recently been awarded UNESCO World Heritage status, surprisingly little is actually known about these intriguing monuments, kept under lock and key by the Japanese government.

The remote farm at the edge of the world - BBC REEL

On the southern tip of South America in Tierra del Fuego, is a cattle ranch that is one of the most southerly in the world. It still has gardens and rooms that wouldn’t look out of place in the town in Devon, Britain, that it was named after.

It's called Estancia Harberton and is as remote as it is inhospitable.

However, very few know of the secret world of the Alhambra that lies unseen below the surface - a hidden network of tunnels and dungeons, off limits to tourists, that are still being uncovered and understood by archaeologists today.

ABOUT US:
We’re traveling full time, living on our own terms and showing you the up-close-and-personal details of us figuring it out along the way. Sometimes it’s about navigating big, life-altering decisions. Sometimes it’s about navigating the seemingly lawless free-for-all that is driving in Hanoi. It’s moments of triumph and moments of panic. The good, the bad, the ugly – and most importantly, the real and real funny.

We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.” Just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem. We believe the world’s a more interesting place when people reject convention in favor of what they actually care about. This is us putting that idea to the test – one budget spreadsheet, RV renovation and mountain-peak drone video at a time.

I Went in a Secret North Korean Tunnel! (it was weird)

Join me in visiting the world's most dangerous border, the DMZ between North and South Korea! This turned out to be one of the weirdest places I've ever been; not because of the North and South Korean soldiers at the border, but because of an amusement park.

Key words: World's Most Militarized Border, World's Scariest Places, South Korea's top tourist attraction, Demilitarized Zone, North Korea, South Korea, Korean War, Panmunjom, Dora Observatory, defectors, separated families, Korean Border, Imjingak, Seoul
