Gold Coast is the heart of Australia's ultimate beach playground ????????️, and in this vlog, you'll discover the most famous district in town, called Surfers Paradise. For many years, this iconic stretch of coastline has captured the imagination of surfers, sun-seekers, and adventure enthusiasts from around the world.
Gold Coast is famous for the golden beaches and laid-back lifestyle, but it's also got a vibrant cityscape. We start the day exploring one of the tallest residential buildings in Australia, the Q1 Tower. We go for a delicious breakfast at the SkyPoint observatory. From there, we walk around the most famous areas in Surfers Paradise, especially Cavill & Orchid Avenues, and then enjoy Surfers Paradise beach. We also go for a sunset river cruise and enjoy the beachfront market and Gold Coast's nightlife.
Gold Coast is a short train ride away from Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland. Brisbane is the host of the 2032 Olympics.

Surfers Paradise is a suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Colloquially known as Surfers, the suburb has many high-rise apartment buildings and a wide surf beach. The feature of the heart of the suburb is Cavill Mall, which runs through the shopping and entertainment precinct. Cavill Avenue, named after Jim Cavill, an early hotel owner, is one of the busiest shopping strips in Queensland, and the centre of activity for night life. One of the features of the area is the Surfers Paradise Meter Maids designed to build goodwill with tourists. Surfers Paradise is the Gold Coast's entertainment and tourism centre and the suburb's high-rise buildings are the best known feature of the city's skyline. In 2009 as part of the Q150 celebrations, Surfers Paradise was announced as one of the Q150 Icons of Queensland for its role as a location.
Surfers Point is bounded to the east by the Coral Sea of the Pacific Ocean. The entire coastline of Surfers Paradise is called Surfers Paradise Beach and is a continuous sandy surf beach. The Esplanade is a road that runs along the coast in the north-east of the suburb.
Surfers Paradise is fronted to the east by the Surfers Paradise Foreshore, a rejuvenated public space that fronts Surfers Paradise Beach and the Pacific Ocean. The Foreshore was completed in 2011 and feature contemporary coastal streetscaping that incorporates existing trees and vegetation, including about 95 pandanus trees. The masterplanned space hosts a full calendar of free public events such as the Surfers Paradise Festival and the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships. The area of Surfers Paradise east of Surfers Paradise Boulevard sprawling towards the beach tends to focus on family-friendly attractions such as Time Zone, Ripley's and Believe it or Not museum.
The precinct offers high rise accommodations to tourists such as Circle on Cavill, Hilton, Q1 and Soul. Surfers Paradise offers some of the Gold Coast's best shopping opportunities, with a variety of stores located in Cavill Avenue and surrounding streets as well as at the Centro Surfers Paradise Shopping Centre, which is located in Cavill Avenue.
The Gold Coast Nightlife Precinct offers many after-dark activities for visitors, especially around Cavill Avenue. The precinct is considered Australia's nightlife capital and attracts close to 20,000 visitors daily.
Staged each March and April, the annual Surfers Paradise Festival is a celebration of local music, food, fashion, film and art. In July, Surfers Paradise hosts the annual Gold Coast Marathon in July, attracting runners from around the world. In Surfers Paradise there also is the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit, which hosted CART for a long time and now hosts the Gold Coast 600 each October. Surfers Paradise Beach is regarded as one of the best beaches on the east coast of Australia and has been recognized with numerous domestic and international awards.

Gold Coast Australia ???????? Beyond Surfers Paradise! (Things To Do, Eat and See)
We've just spent the weekend in the Gold Coast of Australia seeing all the things to do, eat and see in other spots that aren't Surfers Paradise. Watch to see how it went! Check out cheap airfares to the Gold Coast here: ⬇ See below for our thoughts and recommendations ⬇
We've been to the Gold Coast a handful of times and already knew there were some epic things to do! The beaches are next level, the them parks are awesome and obviously Surfers Paradise is a real drawcard as well... but this time we were tasked with something different entirely. Just how special is the Gold Coast beyond Surfers Paradise?
In short it's legitimately bloody awesome. Like we haven't stopped looking at moving there since we left and we miss it already. The Gold Coast is a dream - the weather, the people, the food, the coffee, the things to do, the lifestyle, it's goals. But if you're heading there for a weekend or a holiday we've got you covered, and definitely check out how cheap these airfares are direct to the Gold Coast airport here:
- Within minutes of landing we were already at the beach in Coolangatta - it's all about the beach, surfing, amazing restaurants, and a slower pace with a down-to-earth vibe. First stop was Kool Bike Hire to cruise the coast and check out the beaches.
- Then on to Paddock Bakery which is 25 minutes down the road in Burleigh Heads, famous for their wood-fired bagels, crème brulee donuts and dippy eggs! The start of an incredible time with food and cafe experiences on this trip!
- The Dorsett Gold Coast was our home during the stay and it was modern, close to the beach, casino and shopping and with an epic pool as well.
- Tarte Beach House in Currumbin was delicious and the best coffee we had on the whole trip!
- Jellurgal Walkabout was so interesting, the more we travel the more we love feeling connected to our experiences and understanding the aboriginal connection is key.
- Burleigh Pavilion is a vibe for sure, great cocktails, seafood and views over the beach. Apparently some pretty cool gigs here too.
- If you've ever wanted to learn how to ski, wakeboard or kneeboard then GC Wake Park is the spot. Well setup so that even if you're not getting involved on the water it's still a good place to hang, listen to the music and grab some food/drink
- The Hinterland is a must! Cedar Creek Lodges caters to all sorts of different budgets as well, even down to camping if that's your thing, super family friendly with the activities on site but lots of space for adults to hang too
- Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk is another must and honestly a good time to slow down a bit, breath and take in the rainforest surroundings
- St Bernard’s Hotel to finish was a treat! Insane views, friendly staff, great food and DOGS.
So is the Gold Coast a winner even outside of Surfers? HELL YES!

MOVING TO GOLD COAST FOR THE SUMMER! | VLOG
I've been talking about relocating to the Gold Coast, Queensland for a short period of time for ages!! I just needed a change of scenery after two years of minimal travel due to the pandemic. The idea came to me halfway through 2021 and since then it's been a whole lot of planning, organising and booking. I originally wanted to move for 2-3 months but I was working on my first song in Melbourne and couldn't leave until late January.
Now that we're finally here, and that my song is out, I cannot wait to share our journey with you! Here's to enjoying Summer's last few special moments.
I slept at Beth's house the night before our flight, so we woke up bright and early, did our morning routine and then Kal, Beth's boyfriend, drove to the airport. When we got to Melbourne airport we had some challenges to overcome - aka our bags being overweight (Yes, we did bring our coats - it's wet season here) After figuring all of that out, Beth and Kal said their goodbyes, I got my boost juice and we boarded the plane. I could honestly say this was one of the best flights I've ever been on!! I met a mutual friend for the first time in real life cause our seats were right next to each other. We enjoyed our snacks, the falafel wrap and tea. The views from the windows were just insane !! Thank you Paige for giving me the window seat for that portion of the flight ❤️
Once we got off the plane, we got coffee and caught an uber to our hotel! We then entered our apartment!! So exciting :) We love that there's an entry to the balcony from both rooms.
That night, Beth and I explored the streets of Surfers Paradise. We got Vegan pizza at La Prochetta, got given free donuts, walked along the beach and did some grocery shopping!
The next morning we did a hotel apartment tour.
