KARACHI, Sindh, Pakistan

From the mountains on Hunza Valley, we flew to Karachi, on the Arabian sea, and a world of difference from the mountains. I was happy to be in Karachi to discover the amazing street food, and it didn’t let us down!

Here are the things we ate on this ultimate Pakistani street food tour of Karachi, Pakistan:

Javed Nihari - I’ve probably said this a few times, but there’s no meatier breakfast (maybe in the world) than nihari, a meat stew that’s often paired with plenty of desi ghee and either brains of bone-marrow. It’s truly a breakfast of meat loving champions, but it is filling and heavy, and so good. Javed Nihari is one of the best places in Karachi to eat nihari.
Total price - 1,150 PKR ($8.42)

Burns Road - We continued on to Burns Road, one of the legendary street food streets in Karachi. It was a Sunday morning and there were elections happening, so Burns road wasn’t actually that busy. But we did find a few delicious things to try.

Arabian paratha - The Arabian paratha, or mataba, or any other names it has across Asia is a stuffed roti. In this case he filled it with chicken and spices and egg before wrapping it up and shallow frying it. It was delicious.
Price - 120 PKR ($0.88)

Matka kulfi - Also on Burns Road is a maka kulfi shop where they sell Pakistani ice cream in little clay cups. The pistachio and saffron were the best.
Price - 50 PKR ($0.37) each

Rabri - I’m not huge on sweets, but on Burns Road we need to try rabri.
Price - 200 PKR ($0.88)

Chicken biryani - Just randomly walking around we decided to try our first plate of Karachi biryani - and Karachi is known for their biryani. It was simple, but very good, with a wonderful flavor of dried lime, and it was just a very cool spot.
Price - 80 PRK ($0.59)

Liaquatabad - We continued this Pakistani street food tour of Karachi in Liaquatabad a busy market area, full of street food.

Qadri Nalli Biryani - This was the highlight of the food tour, if not one of the best dishes of my entire trip to Pakistan. Nalli biryani, Pakistani bone marrow biryani is one of the best things ever.
Price - They wouldn’t charge us

Salad - His ninja chopping skills brought me in and there was no way I couldn’t stop to eat his salad. Amazing!
Price - 40 PKR ($0.28)

MashAllah Fish Katakat - The next meal we had was MashAllah Fish Katakat, and a dish called katakat. Most of the time its prepared with organs, but this was with fish, and it was again one of the best dishes I ate in Pakistan. An amazing combination of fish, spices, and chutney.

Landhi Dairy Colony - Next we headed to the biggest buffalo colony in Asia, maybe the world. Over 700,000 - 800,000 cattle and livestock live within this area that is within Karachi, Pakistan. It was fascinating to visit and drink the freshest buffalo milk possible.

Dua Restaurant - Finally for dinner we finished this Karachi street food tour at Dua Restaurant, a huge restaurant serving grilled meat and karahis. The prawns karahi was the highlight for me.
Total price - 4,840 PKR ($35.45)

It was an amazing day of street food in Karachi, Pakistan!

Ultimate CHAPLI KEBABS! | Extreme Pakistani Street Food in Mardan, Pakistan!

SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos every week
T-shirts and caps:
Thank you to Ali (Pakistan Travel Market):

I can say with certainty, chapli kebabs are probably the best form or shape of any kebab or meat patty formation that I’ve ever had in my entire life. This was my first time to try this Pakistani food speciality, and I was blown away with every bite. Chapli kebabs are extraordinary!

Islamabad - Capital Pakistan - So we started off the day in Islamabad, but the plan for the day was to drive to Mardan, eat along the way, and eat our way through Mardan, but mostly focusing the day on chapli kebabs.

Mian Jee Restaurant - One the way to Mardan we stopped at Mian Jee, a very famous restaurant know for all sorts of dishes, but especially their world famous dal. It’s so thick and creamy it’s almost the consistency of peanut butter. And yes, it’s rich and delicious.

Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan - We arrived in Mardan in the early afternoon and headed straight to eat chapli kebabs for the first time.

Chapli Kebab - Mardan - The first place we are chapli kebab was a local favorite spot in Mardan city. I’m not exactly sure of the name, but it’s a very popular spot and known by locals. They had the massive podium fryer, filled with melted fat, and made medium sized burger patties, with big chunks of bone marrow to make this even better. Their chapli kebabs (kababs) were seasoned perfectly with a balance of tomato and cumin. It was an eye opener for me.

Falooda - Next we stopped in Mardan to eat falooda, and from what I understand, Mardan falooda is pretty famous.

River View Restaurant - Next on this day of Mardan and Peshawar, we drove to River View Restaurant, mainly to go on a boat ride in the Kabul River. The river ride was fun, and it was amazing to be cruising down the Kabul river. The restaurant also had delicious food.

Rambail Chapli Kebab, Taru Jabba - But for our real dinner we needed to get another dose of chapli kebabs. On the way, almost to Peshawar city, we stopped at Rambail Chapli Kebab, Taru Jabba, possibly the most famous of all chapli kebab in the world. And when you see their bonfire and podium of a cooking station, you’ll know why it’s the best. They make larger sized patties, filled with spices, and bone marrow, and again fried in their own fat.

The chapli kebabs were so unbelievably delicious, I could hardly control myself. It was an amazing day of Pakistani street food in Pakistan, and an intro to chapli kebabs from the source.

KARACHI, PAKISTAN - When it comes to Pakistani food, Karachi is a heaven on earth with a multitude of delicious and meaty things to eat. On our last visit to Karachi (street food tour: ) we weren’t able to eat some of the things I really wanted to try, so I was happy to be back in this massive food city in Pakistan!

Biryani - In the previous episode of Pakistani street food in Karachi (you can watch it here: ), we ate biryani from a very friendly man who sets up his shop just outside Kaiser Restaurant. While I was off filming my intro to this video, Ali and Joel decided to have appetizer biryani. It was just as good as before and his friendly smile and delicious food represent Pakistan. Located just outside Kaiser Restaurant, go check them out!

Kaiser Restaurant - One of the main things Ali and I wanted to eat last trip to Pakistan but they were closed the day we were filming and we ran out of time is Kaiser Restaurant, famous for their whole grilled mutton legs smothers in Masala. We order three of them, covered in masala and one extra spicy. The meat was incredibly delicious and the masala sauce was unbelievable. We had a great time and delicious food. Price - 1,700 PKR ($12.08) per mutton leg

Since we had some time in the afternoon, we stopped at the beach to walk around. At the beach we met Lion King!

Geo Gola Corner - Possibly the world’s sweetest dessert, gola ganda is a mashup of shaved ice, ice cream, and all candy and syrups you can think of in the world. Not really for me, but it was amazing to see them make it and assemble it.

Cool Inn - Chaat refers to any of the very common savory snacks common throughout the Indian subcontinent. My favorite is pani puri, and my wife Ying loves dahi puri. But here at Cool Inn which is a famous Pakistani street food chaat spot, Ali and I both loved their special chaat. Price - Around 100 PKR ($0.71) per plate

Anwar Baloch Restaurant - Finally to wrap up this Pakistani street food tour in Karachi, we drove over to Anwar Baloch Restaurant known for their karahi curries. They serve an abundance of goat, but we opted for the prawns karahi. It was one of the richest, and most spice filled, and spicy karahis I’ve had in Pakistan so far.

It was another amazing day of food in Karachi, Pakistan!

Big thank you for my friend Ali ( for making this happen!

Street Food in Pakistan - ULTIMATE 16-HOUR PAKISTANI FOOD Tour in Lahore, Pakistan!

Thank you to Ali (Pakistan Travel Market):
SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos every week:
T-shirts and caps:

Also, just published a full Pakistan travel guide:

I’m very excited to share this first full street food in Pakistan video with you! We started our trip in Lahore, a vibrant, colorful, and packed full of food city. Our first day in Lahore turned out to be a 16 hour street food marathon in Lahore, and it was an amazing day!

Get more details on my Pakistan Travel Guide:

Sadiq Halwa Puri ( - We began the day with a very common breakfast throughout Pakistan, halwa puri, but along with chana curry (chickpea curry). We ate off the car, enjoying every bit of the freshly fried puris and curry.
Total price - 640 PKR ($4.78)

Chacha Feeka Lassi ( - Next we drove over to Gawalmandi, one of the most legendary areas in Lahore for food. We headed straight to a breakfast staple, the lassi shop and had the most creamy heavy milkshake I’ve ever had, called a pera lassi.

Roasted chickpeas - 25 PKR ($0.19) - After exiting an alley, right in front of us was a man selling chickpeas and corn roasted in black Himalayan salt. It’s a very common street food snack in Pakistan.

Sweet potato - 80 PKR ($0.60) - Sweet potato is also a very common street food snack in Lahore, seasoned with masala and a type of citrus juice.

Baba Kulfi Wala - Next we headed over to Shah Alami Market, another huge and bustling market in Lahore.

Kulfi - 20 PKR ($0.15) each - One of the most famous places to eat ice cream in Lahore is Baba Kulfi Wala, and you’ll find a crowd of people standing around the corner of the road eating sticks of their famous kulfi.

Orange juice - 50 PKR ($0.37)

Chana chaat - 120 PKR ($0.89) per plate - One of my personal favorite Pakistani street food snacks of the day was chana chaat, a chickpea snack. He added in all sorts of spices, chutneys, and seasonings, to create a deliciously refreshing snack.

Butt Karahi Tikka Restaurant - Easily one of the most well known restaurants in Lahore is Butt Karahi, specializing in curry made in a rounded pan, called a karahi (we will be eating a lot of karahi’s in Pakistan!). We ordered both a mutton karahi and chicken karahi. Both were amazing, filled with spices and butter, but the tenderness of the mutton was the winner.
Total price - 5,600 PKR ($41.84)

Siddique Fish Corner - You’ll notice that Lahore seems to come alive at night, and street food is everywhere at night. We began the evening with Siddique Fish Corner, one of the best fried fish stalls in Lahore. It was awesome, and so busy.
Total price - 400 PKR ($2.99)

Khalifa Balochi Sajji - Another Pakistani dish I wanted to try was chicken sajji, a type of hand rotisserie chicken. The atmosphere and cooking method was incredible.

Khan Baba Restaurant - Finally for our last dinner on this 16 hour day of food in Pakistan, we went to one of Ali’s favorite restaurants in Lahore, Khan Baba. The goat chops were impressive as was the korma curry.

Again, massive thank you to Ali, from Pakistan Travel Mart for hosting us in Pakistan, taking us around, and organizing everything.

Karachi's Best Food Street ????????

Karachi has many 'food streets' but the most famous one is Burns Road, which was named after a Scotsman in the 19th century. Its name was changed to 'Muhammad Bin Qasim Road' after the formation of Pakistan but everyone still knows it as 'Burns Road'.

Before heading to Burns Road I had to pick up my Pakistani Cricket shirt from Azeem Sports in the lighthouse market area. I left it with them for printing the name and number 'Babar Azam 56' on the back.

I changed into my new Pakistan top in the back of their shop and was ready to begin my Pakistani street food adventure, in Karachi.

The first Pakistani cuisine I tried at Burns Road was the haleem, at Karachi Haleem. I ate haleem on my first day in Pakistan and loved it, so this was my second time trying it. I loved this just as much as the first one I tried.

Haleem is like a thick lentil soup with shreds of meat through it. The making of it is a very laborious process of constant mixing. Beef and chicken options are available but beef is the most tasty, so that's what I ordered.

At 140 Pak Rupees ($0.80 USD) the beef haleem is incredible value for a meal with meat.

After demolishing the plate of savoury haleem I had quite a thirst. I was looking for some kind of juice, then I came across a dessert shop with a big picture of falooda on the wall. The owner recommended that I try a falooda with pistachio ice cream.

The falooda was a huge glass filled with so many tasty ingredients. Milk, vermicelli noodles, jelly, nuts, pistachio ice cream, rose syrup, basil seeds and rabri. It was both a tasty dessert meal and a refreshing drink, all in one glass.

The falooda normally costs 230 Pak Rupees ($1.28 USD), which is superb value, considering how many ingredients are in there. However, the kind owner would not accept money from me. He gave me the falooda for free as a gesture of hospitality to a foreign guest, and I'm very grateful for his kindness.

I was feeling full after the falooda but it would have been a short vlog if I ended it there, so, for the sake of the viewers, I powered on. I went on the hunt for some biryani.

While roaming all over Burns Road I met two subscribers of mine. One of them had some good suggestions for beef biryani. Al-Naz Biryani and Food Centre were the restaurants that he recommended.

The restaurant suggestions were helpful enough but he was good enough to give me a lift on the back of his motorbike to Food Centre.

The Food Centre weren't stingy at all with the portion size of the beef biryani. At 320 PKR ($1.80 USD), again it was ridiculously good value, considering the daddy size portion that was served.

I found the rice to be very flavoursome. There was a lot of masala in the biryani, and also potato. The only other place I've found potato in my biryani was Kolkata, West Bengal, India. So this Karachi Biryani was similar to a Bengali biryani.

I did find the meat to be a bit dry, but eating it with the homemade raita sorted that out. The perfect spoonful was with rice, potato, beef and raita. Succulent and delicious!

I could only manage to eat half of the biryani but the staff are always willing to package up the leftovers in such a situation. I took the package back to my guesthouse to be eaten for supper, later in the evening.

I am in Karachi, one of the most exciting and bustling cities in Pakistan, and I am going to share some of my unique culinary experiences on this trip with you.
Delicious and famous Pakistani dishes that I tasted:
Famous Pakistani Nihari at Javed Nihari, Biryani from Al Rehman Biryani, seafood dishes like fish and shrimp karahi at Rashid Seafood Restaurant, Chapli Kebab and popular Pakistani iced mango juice.

Javed Nihari:
We came to Javed Nihari, with a 45-year history, to eat the best version of Nihari, a famous Pakistani food. Nihari is prepared with veal, brain, bone marrow, and gravy. Fresh peppers and lemons are served on top, it's incredibly delicious and oily, and it's served with local hot bread that's baked in a tandoor, which is truly a masterpiece.

Al Rehman's Biryani Karachi:
Al Rehman's Biryani is one of the most famous Biryanis in Karachi, Pakistan. It's known for its delicious Biryanis served with a unique show and presentation. They mix the rice in the pot, and gradually the orange rice appears and a lot of chicken is brought out of the pot. They also have potatoes.
For takeaway orders, they put Biryanis in a bag with utmost speed, they throw the chicken or potato in the air, which is really spectacular. For us, the Biryani was served on a plate, which was exceptional. Biryani with chicken thigh and wing, with a bit of raita that goes on the Biryani with fresh lemon and salad was incredibly tasty.

Pakistani Iced Mango Juice:
Iced Mango Juice is a very popular street drink in Karachi, Pakistan. It's a mix of plenty of ice, hot milk, mango, and their special red syrup that's mixed together. Their mango juice is very famous here in Karachi and all over Pakistan! They've been around for more than 30 years and they sell an incredible amount of iced mango juice daily!
You can either drink it in their own glasses or they pour it in a bag for you for take our! A glass of iced mango juice, it's really refreshing, I really enjoyed it

Famous Pakistani Chapli Kebab:
Chapli Kebab is a famous street food in Pakistan. It consists of minced meat, egg, flour, and special spices. To cook it, they put a very large pan on a wood fire. They first clean the bottom of the pan, then empty a bag full of oil into the pan.
They knead the meat very well, then add the egg and mix it very well, then they take a piece of the meat, flatten it in the palm of their hand and throw it into the hot oil to fry, they also fry some peppers with it.
When the Chapli Kebabs are fully fried they come on a plate, and fried peppers are placed next to them, with ring onions also served in the plate with a special spice that is sprinkled on the meat and it's truly exceptional.

Delicious Shrimp Karahi and Fish at Rashid Seafood Restaurant in Karachi, Pakistan:
In this restaurant, they serve various seafood dishes like shrimp and fish.
I tasted the extraordinary shrimp karahi and fish of this restaurant with the unique local bread, they were very delicious.
Shrimp karahi with shrimp, oil, ginger, masala, and chopped tomatoes that were stir-fried on high heat was prepared and it was exceptional.
Their fish was also very tasty and fresh, which I tasted with local bread and raita, and it left a pleasant culinary experience in my memory.

I myself really enjoyed my trip to Karachi and tasting its extraordinary dishes, I hope you also enjoy this video and stay tuned for more.

JUMMA BIRYANI | Crazy Rush on Famous Biryani of Karachi | Sells only on Friday, Street Food Pakistan

The making and tasting of very famous Jumma Biryani!

Simply put, biryani is a spiced mix of meat and rice, traditionally cooked over an open fire in a leather pot. It is combined in different ways with a variety of components to create a number of highly tasty and unique flavour combinations. The word “biryani” itself comes from the word “birian,” a Persian term which translates to “fried before cooking.” Indeed, the roots of this dish have been traced by notable historians to modern-day Persia, with appearances in notes under various names as early as 2 CE. The biryani recipe was then simplified in order to keep it viable during travel.

Once the dish reached India, it blossomed into something entirely new. The story goes that Mumtaz Mahal, a Queen of Shah Jahan, visited an army barrack and found the soldiers there to be heavily undernourished. She demanded the barrack’s cook provide the soldiers with a dish that was nutritious and had all the meat, rice, and spices needed to restore their energy. According to legend, this is how the dish first came to India. As various regions across Southern Asia adopted the recipe, it grew and changed to express cultures’ values; leading to the diverse selection of biryani dishes that exist today.
