The bridge is located in Simpson Bay. When the bridge is closed there is approximately 8.5 feet clearance on entry in the port channel and eight feet clearance in the starboard channel. Note: Clearance varies depending on the height of the tide. Steve Jobs's Mega Yacht VENUS
It’s an absolutely different World !
This gorgeous mega yacht Venus designed by Philippe Starck's design company Ubik and built by Feadship for Steve Jobs. Unfortunately, he never had a chance to own her or enjoy cruising on her ???? He died in 2011 and she was finished in 2012. The cost of this beauty is about $150M
We were amazed to meet her here, in Grenada ???????? It just crossed the Atlantic Ocean . According to AIS data it’s took 7 days and 5 hours with cruising speed about 16,5 knots. We can only imagine how much fuel it burned!
Later we witnessed couple trucks with diesel coming to refueling this mega yacht!
And now she’s in the Caribbean! ????

The main access into and out of the Simpson Bay Lagoon on the Dutch side of the island is the Simpson Bay Bridge which is adjacent to the Yacht Club and Customs offices. The opened bridge span can accommodate vessels up to a maximum beam of less than 56 feet (17 meters) and a maximum draft of 17 feet (6 meters). Wide beamed vessels must request pilot-age. When the bridge is closed there is 8.6 feet (2.6 meters) clearance in the port channel and 8 feet (2.4 meters) clearance in the starboard channel but clearance vary depending on the state of the tide. There is a 3mph speed limit for all vessels using the access channel, and within the lagoon all marinas and yacht anchorages are deemed “no wake zones”.

Users of small craft are requested not to transit the bridge channel during bridge opening hours. Boats docking at the BBW dock should not be maneuvering in the channel during the bridge operational hours. Small sea craft must make use of the port channel when passing under the bridge. Jet ski owners and rentals are requested to inform users that they must put their waterspouts off when passing under the bridge. This prevents corrosion of the iron structure of the bridge.

Captains and owners of vessels after docking their vessels in the lagoon should immediately come to the window of the Simpson Bay Lagoon Authority & Immigration to clear in their vessel, crew and passengers and pay the necessary bridge and harbor fees and dues, your use an approved clearing agent.

This Video shows how a large yacht only just fits through the bridge in St Marteen.
Supet tight FIT as the BIGGEST ship EVER!! to cross the simpsonbay bridge St Maarten
The Marietje Andrea 416 ft BROKE the record for the largest ship to enter into the simpsonbay lagoon taking the title for Victoria Secret Yacht Limitless bring with it parts for the causeway that is being constructed in the simpsonbay Lagoon St. Maarten.
Hundreds showed up to see the ship do tedious manoeuvring which took
20 to 25 minutes to safely cross the bridge.

Built by Delta Marine in 2001 to ABS class, this superyacht had a thorough refit in 2007 including extensive upgrades to her communications and audio/visual equipment. The main saloon on the bridge deck now boasts a 61 flat screen television, plush cushioned window seating and a Gran Tour player piano. Accommodation is for 10 guests in a master, two double and two twin cabins and twin 1100hp Caterpillar engines give Newvida a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Previously on the market at $35.9 million, she's now asking $26.9 million.
