Stairway To Heaven Hike in 4K (Legally Hiking the Haiku Stairs on Oahu, Hawaii) 2019
For 4 or 5 years now, I've kept three tabs open in safari on my iPhone: My dream boat, my dream car, and the Stairway to Heaven hike in Oahu, Hawaii. Once we decided we were going to Maui for a week, I knew that whether my brother and his friend wanted to or not, I would go to Oahu for a day to tackle this bucket list hike. Coming in, I was nervous about the $1000 fine that could occur if caught hiking on the actual stairs (I'm broke) so I did my research and found the back route on my AllTrails app. This route (Moanalua Valley Trail) was 5.3 miles one way with a 2600 foot elevation gain and was stated as having very treacherous slopes and mud slides. After completing it, I can tell you that the trail is sure enough very dangerous and the most absurd hike I've done to date. Luckily for you, I filmed it all so you can see all of the most dangerous parts and get some tips from someone who has completed the legal hike to the top of the Haiku Stairs. I put tips in at the end of the video for people planning to do the hike so make sure to check those out! I also will include my AllTrails Link below so you can see my exact route and will give you the final statistics of our day of hiking. FLIGHT PATH/ LOCATIONS: Viewers begin in Honolulu along Waikiki Beach, with impressive views of Diamond Head in the distance. From here viewers can enjoy the rocky black lava coast as it transforms into a perfect white Sandy Beach. Stairway to heaven! Tips & TRICKS
This is it! the most gorgeous hike on the island Oahu in Hawaii.
Here you have the view, the way there and tips if you want to climb the Stairway to heaven (Haiku Stairs). Do not forget to bring food,snacks and water. If you have good energy this hike will become so much better. Also, give yourself enugh time so you don't need to rush and can take short breaks to just look at the view.
Many people that took the backside was very tired and decided to take the stairs down and go through the bushes instead of going back. If you do that...well, don't bring your car in the first place since it is on another side of the mountain you will end up.

Taking the longer route to Haiku stairs
Hiking for 8hours with stops around 1 and half hour
16.23km in total with 996m elevation gained
Route to Triple ridge was really muddy so it took a while to reach the peak
STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN ILLEGAL HIKE - OAHU, HAWAII (2020) AVOIDING COPS AND GUARD
This video shows our experience hiking the Stairway To Heaven! This hike is illegal and considered trespassing. Jess, Jamie, and I had the most amazing experience trying to find the stairs and hiding in the bamboo forest to avoid the cops and security guard.
We didn't get to finish the hike, but will be back in 2021 to make it to the top - and film another video!

The Stairway to Heaven on Oahu, Hawaii, also known as the Haiku Stairs, is possibly the greatest attraction on the entire island. 3,922 stairs lead up the imposing mountain ridge, often at a vertical incline, with only a hand-rail to catch you from falling into the valley below.

HAWAII HAIKU STAIRS (stairway to heaven) 3922 steps
This is an ILLEGAL hike. Haiku hike is illegal however you can climb the mountain through a different hike, Moanalua valley trail it takes about 10-12 hours to climb and down. not nearly as exciting. haiku stairs is somewhat dangerous missing treads missing hand rails. it is all wet and humid. watch the end for what you should expect from the hike.
