Guernsey Coastal Path - Day One - St. Peter Port | Channel Island Walks | Cool Dudes Walking Club

The first day of Marek Larwood's walk around the Guernsey Coastal Path. Starting at St. Peter Port I walked southbound to see how far I could get. Along the way, I saw the bathing pools, Clarence Battery, Fermain Bay, Moulin Huet and Petit Bot.

A silent walking tour of ST PETER PORT - the capital of GUERNSEY Channel Islands

Hi everyone! In this video, I take you on a silent walking tour through the town centre of St Peter Port / Saint Peter Port, the capital of Guernsey. As Guernsey is one of the Channel Islands (together with Jersey) and the wider Bailiwick is a Crown Dependency (together with the Bailiwick of Jersey and the Isle of Man), I've added this to the 'British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies' playlist.

We start our walk near the hotel where I was staying and walk along the Grange through a residential neighbourhood. We will pass Elizabeth College, St James Church, Sunken Garden and St Paul's Garden before arriving in the town centre. We will see the High Street and several buildings and monuments including Town Church, the Donkey statue and Victor Hugo statue. The walk ends in the beautiful harbour area where we have a view of Castle Cornet.

This was taken on a Sunday morning when many of the shops were shut and a general lack of road and people traffic. When it is so quiet, one can really enjoy the architecture and the sounds of nature, and see things one would not normally see when there are loads of people around. It is also great for the mental health to do such a walk. So, come and enjoy this silent walk with me!

Date of filming: 5 February 2023

Despite the narrow roads and blind corners, it's quite easy and relatively safe to walk from Guernsey Airport to Saint Peter Port, Guernsey's capital, in about 70 minutes. Here I show you how.

Kicking off the day with breakfast in St Peter Port, we took to the cliffs for an epic day out on Guernsey's coastline. Passing by sights such as the La Valette Bathing Pools, the Clarence Battery, and the fancy houses of Fort George, we began to fall in love with the peace and tranquillity that can be found just outside of Guernsey's busiest town.

After 3 hours of tough slog, we decided to head back into town to the Seafront Sunday markets in St Peter Port and finish off the day with some of Guernsey's best street food.

Tasty Walks Guernsey

GUERNSEY: Exploring beautiful ST. PETER PORT ???? (Channel Islands), let's go!

Guernsey, Channel islands - the capital of Guernsey, Saint Peter Port. Saint Peter Port is the capital of Guernsey as well as the main port. St. Peter Port (French: Saint-Pierre Port) is a town and one of the ten parishes on the island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands. Saint Peter Port is the capital of the Bailiwick of Guernsey as well as the main port. The population of Saint Peter Port in 2019 was 18,958.
St. Peter Port is a small town (commonly referred to by locals as just town) consisting mostly of steep narrow streets and steps on the overlooking slopes. It is known that a trading post/town existed here before Roman times with a pre-Christian name which has not survived.
People from St. Peter Port, were nicknamed les Villais (the townspeople) or cllichards in Guernésiais.
In Guernésiais and in French, historically the official language of Guernsey, the name of the town and its surrounding parish is St Pierre Port.
Guernsey is one of the Channel Islands in the English Channel near the French coast, and is a self-governing British Crown dependency. It's known for beach resorts like Cobo Bay and the scenery of its coastal cliffs. Castle Cornet, a 13th-century harbor fortification in the capital of St. Peter Port, now contains history and military museums. Hauteville House is the lavish former home of French writer, Victor Hugo.

CRUISING TO GUERNSEY | British Channel Islands UK | Cruise Vlog #5

Guernsey is part of the British Channel Islands - a beautiful part of the UK - our cruise docked at St Peter Port and we...⬇ More Below ✈ Our 220 page guide on how to travel non-stop —

Quick recap — we're on our first cruise, departing with Princess Cruises on Sapphire Princess from Southampton UK. Today we arrived in St Peter Port, Guernsey, to explore our last cruise port.

Guernsey is in a unique spot in the UK, it's actually part of the British Channel Islands so is quite popular with various boat trips and cruise travel as well. We were pleasantly surprised with how welcoming, similar and yet so different Guernsey was to the other spots in the UK we've travelled.

Guernsey is one of those places we never really imagined we'd get the chance to travel, thankfully it was the last included stop on our cruise and we had the whole day to get lost, eat food and embrace the local good stuff ( aka cider ???? )

That's the last cruise vlog from our trip on Sapphire Princess with Princess Cruises.

Safe to say we love cruise life! Having our bags unpacked for a week onboard the ship, travelling over night, new locations to explore almost daily - this is special! Check out Princess Cruises here —

Bluebell Woods, Guernsey | Channel Islands | 4K UltraHD

Located at the southern end of St Peter Port, within walking distance of the town centre, you will find Bluebell Woods. Aptly named, in springtime the woodland floor becomes a carpet of blue flowers beneath the budding tree canopy. A wonderful place to walk at any time of year with trails leading onto the cliff paths and wonderful views from the south-east of the island.

The island of Guernsey boasts some of the most unique, varied and beautiful walks you’ll find anywhere in the British Isles, from the sweeping sandy beaches of the west coast to the stunning steep cliffs in the south. What better way to indulge in island life than embark on one of the island’s most beautiful walks.

Start your route from the bottom of the steps alongside Guernsey Aquarium in St Peter Port and aim for Fermain Bay, which will take you via the stunning woods. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the unforgettable sight of the bluebells in bloom!

We arrived on Sky Princess cruise ship and had a great day walking around, It was a Sunday morning early, hence the deserted streets. We ended the day with a long Petit train ride around the southern part of the island.

Hiking Alone Along the Guernsey Coast Path | Channel Islands

In August 2021, I hiked along 30 km of the Guernsey coast path. I walked a section beginning in St Peter Port along the south west cliffs to Rocquaine Bay.

The hike took me 9 hours and I climbed almost 2,500 metres in elevation due to all the bays and headlands I had to ascend and descend.

Guernsey Island - Walking Around WW2 Prevote Observation Tower

On this weeks walk, I’m walking around the Prevote Observation Tower (M5) and the National Trust Nature trail. If you went east, you would reach Saints Bay and then onto St Peter Port or if you went west, it would lead you to Pleinmont point. This on the south coast of Guernsey. I was excited for this walk to see what the island had to offer me. The wild life wants to show off at a safe distance and then seemed to be a little camera shy. I was able to get a little audio of the bird singing. However, the wind this day was a little brisk and it can be heard in the video. I’m looking at getting better equipment. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.
