It is absolutely essential to try local food wherever you travel, and that is why today we’re going to do precisely that!
The cuisine of the US Virgin islands reflects the influences of many different cultures and food throughout the Caribbean. Still, to really experience it, you need to try local dishes at spots that may not be well-known to tourists.
Dishes like fish and fungi “foon-jee” and strew conch are both unique to the Caribbean and the Virgin Islands!
THIS IS IMPORTANT!
As well traveled around the island, we spoke with a few of the locals who mentioned that a big reason a lot of these local restaurants are cash only is because tourists have returned home and filed misuse of their credit cards to get money back from trips. Why we left St. Thomas after 3 years - Virgin Islands living
We decided it was time to leave the US Virgin Islands. We lived in St. Thomas for 3 years but now we are moving back to Florida. We had a great time living in the USVI but we decided that island living was not for us. In this video we will tell how we came to our decision to leave St. Thomas. We had a great time there but when we looked at the pros vs the cons, we started to notice that the cons were outnumbering the pros. So here is our thought process on why we left St. Thomas.
