On my cruise to various Caribbean Islands in 2014, one of the ports was the lovely island of Saint Maarten. I decided to spend the day at Maho Beach, the planespotter's heaven! In this video, you'll see several videos of airliners landing at Princess Juliana Airport, with many of them making extremely low approaches right over the beach. Please read!! I've got some requests to make an Unedited version of the Crazy, Scary, Insanely low Amerijet Boeing 727 landing at Princess Juliana on the 10th of Dec 2013. It was a real near death experience for me and with out a doubt the scariest shot I've ever got. I hope you'll like it! = )

Sady in July 2017 a 57 year old New Zealand woman died after a blast from a nearby jet knocked her to the ground. Officials say the woman had been holding onto a fence that separates the beach from the airport before the force of the jet engines threw her backwards, causing serious injury.
She was taken to hospital for treatment, but died later.

Les fonctionnaires disent que la femme s'était fixée sur une clôture qui sépare la plage de l'aéroport avant que la force des moteurs à réaction ne l'a poussé vers l'arrière, causant de graves blessures.
Elle a été emmenée à l'hôpital pour le traitement, mais est décédée plus tard.

Niestety w lipcu 2017 r. 57-letnia nowozelandka zmarła po wybuchu z pobliskiego strumienia zapukała na ziemię. Urzędnicy twierdzą, że kobieta trzymała się ogrodzenia, który oddzielał plażę od lotniska, zanim siła silników odrzutowych wyrzuciła ją do tyłu, powodując poważne obrażenia.
Została zabrana do szpitala w celu leczenia, ale zmarła później.

Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) is the airport of St. Maarten. It is located 15 kilometers northwest of Philipsburg and is operated by Princess Juliana International Operating Company NV (PJIAE), a limited liability company, which is wholly owned by PJIA Holding N.V. which in turn is fully owned by the Island Government of the Island Territory of St. Maarten. Under a concession granted to PJIAE by Government for a period of twenty years - effective January 3, 1997- PJIAE manages, operates, maintains and develops the Princess Juliana International Airport.
The island of St. Maarten / St. Martin is the smallest landmass in the world shared by two nations. The northern side (St. Martin) is governed by the French and the southern side (St. Maarten) is one of the five island territories that make up the semi autonomous country of the Netherlands Antilles, part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. While English is the main language on both sides, Dutch is the official language on the southern side and French the official language on the northern side.
Because of its geographical location, the island plays a strategic role in the development of neighboring islands Saba, St. Eustatius (also Netherlands Antilles territories), Anguilla and St. Barths.
Incoming air traffic is known to have to touch down as close as possible to the beginning of runway 10 due to the short runway length of 2,180 metres/7,152 ft,[1] resulting in low-flying aircraft on their final approach over the beach. Due to these low flying airplanes (including large passenger airliners such as the Boeing 747), the location is very popular with plane spotters.
