Road to Mannar & Adam's Bridge, Sri Lanka
With a personal driver we made the road trip to Adam's Bridge in Mannar, Sri Lanka.
Adam's Bridge is a chain limestone shoals between India and Sri Lanka. It was a must-see on our wish list, even though the high season had just ended and we couldn't stay in the beachside resort we had our minds set on.
On the way, we made a lot of stops - one of the benefits of a personal driver - and made some new friends.

Drone trouble in Mannar, Sri Lanka
On the walls of a Dutch Fort in Mannar, Sri Lanka, Linda talks a little bit about the police and military getting sent to our hotel in the morning after Trevor was seen flying our drone. We didn't film the interaction with the military because we were a bit spooked. Lucky for us Trevor had his drone license and after the military looked at all our drone footage and made some phone calls we were sent on our merry way.

In this video, we give you guys a little peek at our life in Ahangama! We got a good dose of culture by visiting the Russian market and a good dose of adrenaline from visiting the snake farm! We came here for 2 nights to spend our first Thanksgiving with our pal Johnny FD. We loved it so much and ended staying up to 2 weeks! It was a great reset and we really enjoyed relaxing and getting too many of the foreigners that are choosing to stay in Sri Lanka during these times!

Last day in Sri Lanka
As we made the long journey back to the Negombo airport from Jaffna, we spent one last night in our friends home town of Puttalam where we were invited into our personal driver and friend Samith’s home. We were treated to a wonderful home cooked meal made with love and care from his aunt and sister. ✨????????✨ It was so delicious! Thank you Samith and family for such warm hospitality. So sad to leave this beautiful country way to soon. Fingers crossed, the world heals so we can go back and explore more of this beautiful country and meet more awesome humans! ✨????????????✌????????????????

Catching dinner with fishermen | Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka
Riding scooters out from our resort in Kalpitiya, we attempt to following google road maps as far as possible in search of breakfast but that road turned fast into a sand spit. The road eventually disappeared and became impassable for our little scooters. So we did what we like to do best! Explored where we landed. And to our delight we came across a group of fishermen hauling in their nets.
Linda pitched in and made sure to get some fresh fish for our dinner!

Arriving at the resort town of Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka
Kalpitiya is known for Scuba diving, dolphin watching and kitesurfing. We arrived just as the kitesurfing season was ending so we had the resort basically to ourselves. Such a beautiful place! It had such a nice, chill vibe.
The beaches were huge, often full of families on an outing together. The tourist resort area is a bit secluded from the main part of town so it wasn't too easy to get around by foot. Getting scooters was a priority! Stay tuned for more videos from Kalpitiya coming soon.

Exploring the beautiful island Sri Lanka by tuktuk part 2
Episode 5: Ella → Negombo
In this episode we continue our travels by tuktuk, this time it's the center part and the east of Sri Lanka.
We start this trip in Ella, For us this was the most beautiful part of Sri Lanka. Nature is absolutely stunning right here. You are surrounded by mountains and you can hike forever. After exploring Ella we went to Adam's Peak. The biggest mountain you can climb in Sri Lanka. This was probably the hardest climb we ever did. After all the hikes we went to Kandy to relax a little. A beautiful town, but maybe a little to crowded to really relax. Next up in the video is Sigiriya, with it's famous Lion Rock. After Sigiriya we had a terrible accident with our tuktuk on our way to Nilaveli, Lisa fell out of it on the road while driving. But as you will see in the video everything's fine! But that was the end of our trip in Sri Lanka because we just had to recover after that accident.
We immediately fell in love with this island. It is so diverse and has such friendly people. We highly recommend renting a tuktuk. it just gives you so much freedom and a chance to visit places where no tourists are.
In this series we will show you all our adventures and insights about the different places and cultures we visit. We will provide tips and give our honest opinions about everything we go trough. So we hope you guys like it!

Abruptly cutting our travels short in Sri Lanka, we flew to Kuala Lumpur with no plans.
The airlines were in chaos because of the pandemic, constantly cancelling and rebooking our flights. The earliest we could return to Canada was in 2 more weeks so we decided to wait for a clear path home in Bali.
Oh, the early optimism that this crisis could be contained by a 2 week quarantine.

In this Sri Lanka travel vlog, we show how travel vloggers can travel for free or get paid to travel. After 1 month in the Maldives, we visited Sri Lanka for the first time. We decided to try and travel for free and use the experience we gained from the last video. We contacted lots of hotels around Sri Lanka and were surprised at how easy it was. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country, we went to Colombo. Kandy, Hatton, Dambula, and Yala national park. Despite traveling Sri Lanka, we didn't get to see as much as we planned. We wanted to make Sri Lanka vlogs but instead ended up working for our whole trip.
Despite this, we can't recommend the Yala safari enough. We would love to go back and do it justice one day.
