1,463,700 Scoville!! ???? SCORPION CHILI PEPPERS - Spiciest Food in Trinidad & Tobago!!

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO - Welcome to Trinidad and Tobago and one of the things I was most excited to try when I was there were the Trinidad scorpion chilies - lab tested at 1,463,700 Scoville heat units - making it one of the hottest chili peppers in the world! The scorpion peppers are indigenous in Trinidad and Tobago and today we’re going to try them out.

Big thank you to #visitTrinidad for inviting me to Trinidad and Tobago and for making this trip happen! Guide to the things and food in this video:

Friends in the video:
Zaak (Foodie Tales with Zaak):
Tony Chow Lin On - Chinese LAUNDRY:

Kerryann Sultan’s Pepper Farm in Cunupia - Our first stop on this ultra spicy food tour in Trinidad is Kerryann Sultan’s Pepper Farm, where they are responsible for growing some of the best scorpion peppers you’ll find. It was so cool to see the source and how they grow.

Bertie's Pepper Sauce ( - Hot pepper sauce is one of the joys of eating food in Trinidad and Tobago and so it was amazing to see the process of one of the best hot pepper sauces in Trinidad.

Quan Kep's Pork Shed ( - Next we’re heading over to Couva, Trinidad & Tobago, to Quan Kep's Pork Shed, know for their crispy fried pork and Trinidadian Chinese dishes. The food was amazing, the crispy pork and the hot peppers - and the fried pork with the Moruga scorpion chili. Chinese food is yet another cultural representation of Trinidadian food.

Sylvie's Roti Shop ( - San Juan, Trinidad & Tobago - Finally to complete this extra spicy food tour we went to one of Zaaks favorite roti shops for rice and dal and accompanying dishes. And this is where I tasted the true power of the Trinidad scorpion - absolutely fire!!

Eating the Spiciest Pepper in the Philippines with the Fighter Boys

The Fighter Boys are back in 2020 for season three in the Philippines!
In the last episode, we breathe fire. In this episode, it's almost the same.
We’re in the Bicol Region on the search for the spiciest chili in the Philippines. There are many chilies in this part of the country, and I’m sure you could find some of the hottest in the world like the Carolina Reaper, Habaneros, and many more. But we’re after the spiciest Native Chili which comes in 2 varieties Sili Labuyo, and Sili Mahaba. The plan is to do a spicy challenge with the Fighter Boys.

Chilies are rated in Scoville units. For comparison
Jalapeños are 2000 to 8000 Scoville units of spice.
Sili Labuyo is 80,000 to 100,000 Scoville units.
Habanero is 100,000 to 350,000
Carolina reaper is 1,000,000+

While not the hottest in the world, these spicy chilies definitely pack a punch.

To end the video, we end up trying another spicy challenge at 1st Colonial grill sili chili icecream. I join Bret Maverick, Becoming Filipino, Daniel Marsh, and Finn Snow in this spicy food challenge!

Why Spicy Foods Make Your Mouth Hot ????

How The World Became Spicy (In Only 20 Years)

It all started with a simple question- when did Thai food become spicy?

From there, we did our best to find an answer that's never before been properly explained, unraveling the entire story of the post-Columbian spice trade, taking us to the ports of southern Africa, the kitchens of Gujarat, and the central Asian plateau as we follow the written, genetic, and linguistic history of the humble chili from the New World to the Far East.

This is our attempt at telling the story of the history of the chili pepper: history's spiciest conquest.

In Szechuan, the food is spicy, but I didn't know it could be this spicy. I had a famous Szechuan meal called Chuanchuanxiang, along with some other local delicacies, that made me unable to sleep that night. Please like :

This spicy meal was recommended to me by a local friend in Chengdu, who also loves spicy food. You choose your vegetable and meat skewers from the fridge and then give them to the server and they boil them for you in their spicy oil and serve them to you in a bowl half full of oil as well. You dip the skewers in a spice mix and WOW this was hot. REALLY HOT. EXTREMELY HOT.

To be honest, I'm wasn't a huge fan of the other spicy foods they served here like pig brain, rabbit kidney, and rabbit head, but when in Rome...

So I tried it all and must say that they were all so-so, except for the pig brain which I didn't like. My local friend loved it all, but also admitted that it was just a little too spicy for him, although he did mention that next time he will bring me to an even spicier place!!

There was some amazing sugarcane juice from a stall outside of the restaurant which made a perfect dessert after that spicy meal and really helped cool me down.
