This is why I dive the Solomon Islands.

Remote and truly beautiful the Solomon Islands is a diver's dream destination. Part of the coral triangle with a staggering diversity of marine species, coral and dive sites, it somehow remains one of the least dived areas of the world. Info from Wikipedia about the Solomon Islands:

Solomon Islands is a sovereign state consisting of six major islands and over 900 smaller islands in Oceania lying to the east of Papua New Guinea and northwest of Vanuatu and covering a land area of 28,400 square kilometres (11,000 sq mi).The country has a population of 652,858 [7] and its capital, Honiara, is located on the island of Guadalcanal. The country takes its name from the Solomon Islands archipelago, which is a collection of Melanesian islands that also includes the North Solomon Islands (a part of Papua New Guinea), but excludes outlying islands, such as Rennell and Bellona, and the Santa Cruz Islands.

In 1568, the Spanish navigator Álvaro de Mendaña was the first European to visit them, naming them the Islas Salomón.[8] Britain defined its area of interest in the Solomon Islands archipelago in June 1893, when Captain Gibson R.N., of HMS Curacoa, declared the southern Solomon Islands a British protectorate.[9][10] During World War II, the Solomon Islands campaign (1942–1945) saw fierce fighting between the United States, Commonwealth forces and the Empire of Japan, such as in the Battle of Guadalcanal.

The official name of the then British administration was changed from the British Solomon Islands Protectorate to the Solomon Islands in 1975, and self-government was achieved the following year. Independence was obtained, and the name changed to just Solomon Islands (without the definite article), in 1978. At independence, Solomon Islands became a constitutional monarchy. The Queen of Solomon Islands is Elizabeth II, represented by the Governor-General.

Uepi Island Resort - Marovo Lagune - Diving Amazing Solomon Islands

From their website :

Almost one thousand tropical islands stretching in a gentle arc from the eastern end of Papua New Guinea to the northern reaches of Vanuatu. Dominated by ocean expanses, dense green rain forest, endless blue lagoons, stunningly diverse coral reefs, and prolific fish life. Populated by Melanesians and Polynesians, the majority of who live in traditional rural villages and utilise traditional skills, knowledge and 'kastom' in their daily lives.

Marovo Lagoon
Marovo Lagoon is the longest saltwater lagoon in the world. The two major volcanic islands of Vangunu and New Georgia bound it on its southern and western sides. The northern boundary consists of 130 kms of raised barrier reef with about 100 individual islands along its length. A smaller third volcanic island, Gatakae Island, occupies the southeastern corner. The inner lagoon also has numerous islands. With its many and complex terrestrial and marine habitats, the natural beauty and environment of Marovo Lagoon is outstanding.

Uepi Island
A classic raised barrier reef island, covered in impressive rainforest, outlined by fringing reef and sandy beach; flanked by the warm lagoon waters on one side, and the oceanic depths (6000ft/2000m) of The Slot, a deep marine abyss, on the other. Uepi Island is approximately 2.5 km long and 300 metres wide, and the whole area, aside from the resort's cultivated tropical gardens, is covered with tropical rainforest interspersed with walking tracks. Uepi Resort is the only occupier of this remote island.

underwatercam is a nature, diving and marinelife related video production and stock footage library. We expand our range of films constantly. Films about nature and relaxing in nature are taking recently more of our focus We don't have to save nature and the oceans, we simply have to save or take care of ourselves as we are nature. With every natural and wild habitat we destroy, we kill a part of us. By understanding this and by understanding the fact, that nature and the oceans and the planet are the base of our physical being, we understand destroying and harming the planet, is harming our body and soul and threatens our surviving as a species. We like to show more of natures beauty to create the feeling of aw, gratefulness and respect.
We hope we reach you with this message and hope you subscribe and share our work and intentions. Ocean greetings, Peter Schneider

???? Reef Islands- Snorkeling - 20 Dec 2022 - 4K ????

After visiting the village on Fenualoa Island this morning some of us use the afternoon to go snorkeling at a nearby reef. After all, we are in the Reef Islands.
I tried to do some color correction on the GoPro footage since the water always adds a bluish-greenish tint to underwater videos. Did the best I could so you can see some of the varied colors.
