You won't believe the beauty of Michoacán, Mexico

Today we explore Mexico's great state of Michoacan, seeing the National Park of Uruapan and the capital city Morelia. Both of them turned out to be beautiful stops, in very different ways.

Parque Nacional Uruapan is one of the most naturally beautiful places I've visited in Mexico. It's full of waterfalls and lush forest.

Morelia is a classic colonial city that completely surprised us with its beautiful and clean downtown. We're surprised, not to find such a nice city in Mexico (because Mexico has many great cities) but because I had not heard of many people visiting Morelia before.

I really think Uruapan and Morelia are both very underrated destinations, and should be considered if you are planning a trip through Mexico. Travel safely, as I am aware that there are parts of Michoacan where violence is an issue. But we had no issues whatsoever on this trip through a truly beautiful part of Mexico.

Thanks to the whole team at Viajes Guau for having us on this adventure. Viajes Guau is a tour company based in Queretaro, Mexico.

What it's like to be Black living in Mexico || Storytime (con subtítulos)

Social Media:
Instagram:
Travel IG:
Tumblr:
Facebook:

A couple disclaimers:

1. Although I was only there for 1 month, I say, lived in Mexico because I had the option to (and originally planned) to be there for 7 months or more. I think the experience that I had pretty much represented what it would have been like for me no matter how long I would've stayed for.

2. I don’t want to make it all about me; my two friends and I all had very interesting & attention-filled experiences there, but I can only speak for myself (a black girl) and the interactions I had personally. It’s not to say that if you are some other race that you won’t experience something very similar (& I’m pretty sure my Asian American friend did).

3. Some of this may seem extreme or exaggerated but I cannot make any of this up lol! I even have footage of some of the many interactions I had. Bottom line is: if you go and you’re black, especially if you don't appear to be some random beach-goer, you WILL draw some type of attention, & people will want to interact with you very often.

4. I stayed in a touristy area (Puerto Vallarta), so I HIGHLY doubt I was the first Black person anyone had ever seen. But I was living there as if I was… living there… not like a tourist. So I wasn’t trapped on a resort, I was commuting like, grocery shopping like, and interacting with everyday Mexican people. Like 98% of the interactions I had (outside of my class/roommates) were with Mexican people/non-tourists.

Things people asked/ talked about:
my ethnicity/background
my looks
what I was doing in Mexico
my hair
how I know Spanish
my muscles
boyfriends ???? lol

Street Food in Pakistan - ULTIMATE 16-HOUR PAKISTANI FOOD Tour in Lahore, Pakistan!

Thank you to Ali (Pakistan Travel Market):
SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos every week:
T-shirts and caps:

Also, just published a full Pakistan travel guide:

I’m very excited to share this first full street food in Pakistan video with you! We started our trip in Lahore, a vibrant, colorful, and packed full of food city. Our first day in Lahore turned out to be a 16 hour street food marathon in Lahore, and it was an amazing day!

Get more details on my Pakistan Travel Guide:

Sadiq Halwa Puri ( - We began the day with a very common breakfast throughout Pakistan, halwa puri, but along with chana curry (chickpea curry). We ate off the car, enjoying every bit of the freshly fried puris and curry.
Total price - 640 PKR ($4.78)

Chacha Feeka Lassi ( - Next we drove over to Gawalmandi, one of the most legendary areas in Lahore for food. We headed straight to a breakfast staple, the lassi shop and had the most creamy heavy milkshake I’ve ever had, called a pera lassi.

Roasted chickpeas - 25 PKR ($0.19) - After exiting an alley, right in front of us was a man selling chickpeas and corn roasted in black Himalayan salt. It’s a very common street food snack in Pakistan.

Sweet potato - 80 PKR ($0.60) - Sweet potato is also a very common street food snack in Lahore, seasoned with masala and a type of citrus juice.

Baba Kulfi Wala - Next we headed over to Shah Alami Market, another huge and bustling market in Lahore.

Kulfi - 20 PKR ($0.15) each - One of the most famous places to eat ice cream in Lahore is Baba Kulfi Wala, and you’ll find a crowd of people standing around the corner of the road eating sticks of their famous kulfi.

Orange juice - 50 PKR ($0.37)

Chana chaat - 120 PKR ($0.89) per plate - One of my personal favorite Pakistani street food snacks of the day was chana chaat, a chickpea snack. He added in all sorts of spices, chutneys, and seasonings, to create a deliciously refreshing snack.

Butt Karahi Tikka Restaurant - Easily one of the most well known restaurants in Lahore is Butt Karahi, specializing in curry made in a rounded pan, called a karahi (we will be eating a lot of karahi’s in Pakistan!). We ordered both a mutton karahi and chicken karahi. Both were amazing, filled with spices and butter, but the tenderness of the mutton was the winner.
Total price - 5,600 PKR ($41.84)

Siddique Fish Corner - You’ll notice that Lahore seems to come alive at night, and street food is everywhere at night. We began the evening with Siddique Fish Corner, one of the best fried fish stalls in Lahore. It was awesome, and so busy.
Total price - 400 PKR ($2.99)

Khalifa Balochi Sajji - Another Pakistani dish I wanted to try was chicken sajji, a type of hand rotisserie chicken. The atmosphere and cooking method was incredible.
Total price - 390 PKR ($2.91)

Khan Baba Restaurant - Finally for our last dinner on this 16 hour day of food in Pakistan, we went to one of Ali’s favorite restaurants in Lahore, Khan Baba. The goat chops were impressive as was the korma curry.

Again, massive thank you to Ali, from Pakistan Travel Mart for hosting us in Pakistan, taking us around, and organizing everything.

We went to ACAPULCO MEXICO and this is what happened

We spent a week in Mexico's 2nd most dangerous city to find out what it's REALLY like. What we saw today was wild!

****DISCLAIMER****
We recorded this video on February 25th, 2020 before the coronavirus started to spread like wildfire across the world. As cities, states, and countries across the world started to shut down, we cut our travel plans short to return to Mexico. Since Saturday, March 15th, we have been continuing a self-imposed quarantine in Puerto Morelos, Mexico to do our part in stopping the spread of this virus. We have canceled all future travel until this pandemic is under control.

In today's Acapulco, Mexico vlog we are seeing one of the craziest events we've ever witnessed! Some highly talented locals show off their skills while we watch in awe from above. Later in this video, we visited one of the most unique cafes we've ever seen. Plus, we enjoyed a delicious, low-cost breakfast at a restaurant that's been around since 1960!

This beach city charmed us right until the very last day. Acapulco's bad reputation might have been valid years ago, but we think it's ill-deserved in 2020. In fact, we can't wait to go back again!

In case you missed them, we made two videos in Acapulco before this:
Acapulco 1:
Acapulco 2:

ABOUT US (MADDIE & JORDAN)
