Solo Hiking for 3 Days in the Julian Alps (Slovenia)
Join my epic 3 days of solo hiking through the majestic Julian Alps in Slovenia. ????️ This adventure took me on a 12km journey each day through the enchanting Seven Lakes Valley and the wild mountains, reaching an elevation of about 6,000+ft (2,000m) high.
Beginning in the quaint village of Stara Fuzina in the North of Slovenia, I conquered the rugged & steep terrain toward Vodnikov Dom, marveling at beautiful landscapes like the Devil's Bridge and the carved Mostnica Gorge.
Despite facing moments of defeat and extreme fatigue, the awe-inspiring views and diverse alpine landscapes make every step worthwhile!! As the journey progresses, it's impossible not to be inspired by the sheer beauty of the Slovenian mountains. The emotional rollercoaster of this hike - filled with challenges, exhilaration, and even the loss of a drone ???? serves as a testament to the power of solo hiking adventures.

SLOVENIA | Hiking in the Julian Alps: Tolmin Gorge & Slap Kozjak
Welcome back to another Slovenia vlog! Today we are exploring the beauty of the Julian Alps!
In this video we take 2 short hikes in Triglav National Park.
First, we did a short 3.5km hike to one of Slovenia's most stunning waterfalls. This short hike is called Slap Kozjak. The hike is right outside of Kobarid and is part of the Kobarid Historic Trail that highlights all the major sites in the area. You could consider hiking the historic trail if you wanted something longer!
The next day we hiked the Tolmin Gorge, also known as Tolminska Korita. It is a gorgeous natural wonder and one of the most popular attractions in the Soča Valley area. This hike should take you no more than 1.5 hours to see all the viewpoints. This hike was a highlight of our time in Slovenia, although we enjoyed every moment we spent in this beautiful country!

We've spend 2 weeks in Slovenia the summer of 2017. A beautiful country that exceeded expectations. If you want to include Italy in your trip, fly to Trieste and from there catch a bus to Ljubljana. I will make a full trip report soon so stay tuned!

Seven Triglav Lakes Hike in Slovenian Julian Alps
The past two months have seemed very long with the Corona-crisis running through Europe. During the lockdown, we all needed to put some things aside, like mountaineering in the case of Tara and Polona, members of the Altitude activities team. No wonder that when quarantine was released their first escape was up into the mountains.
From Lake Bled to the heart of the Julian alps they wandered through the Triglav seven lakes valley. The valley is known as one of the most beautiful with 7 glacier lakes hidden along the way. The video shows their two-day adventure

August, 2023. The highlight of our trip through Slovenia was a five day trek in Triglav National Park. We summited Mt. Triglav on day two, and spent the rest of the trek hiking through the incredible mountains and staying at picturesque huts along the way. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and we really feel the Julian Alps is now one of our favorite hiking destinations.

Hiking in Triglav National Park - Julian Alps Slovenia

The valley of the Seven lakes, also known as the Triglav Lakes Valley is probably the most popular area in the Julian Alps. We started off from Planina Blato, went through Planina Pri Jezeru, Planina Dedno Polje, saw some huts, went through some forests. We went up and up until Glava Nad Planino, which is one peak in the Triglav National Park. The view was magnificent, but it was also raining and very cold, so I could not take a very nice video at the top :(
It was an amazing hike of 8 to 9 hours (23km total). You can view the route here:
